Chris529 380 Posted October 11, 2013 Did you even bother to read his post before talking out of your ass? Let me break this down for you. He simply states that because of the more fps-more zeds system, he gets too many zeds spawned when he plays. He's complaining because he gets too high fps, therefore too many zeds. Personally I like many zeds, and I'm not sure about implementing such a limit, but seriously your reply was not just useless but down to idiotic. This is a forum, read and think before you post.I read it, checked the changelog, thought about what he said, but (unfortunately) mistook it as whinging and viola. I thought this because I have no problems with the amount of zombies at the moment. While FPS has never been too great with DayZ, even now with a lot of zombies around, I barely notice much of a drop. I thought the problem lied with him but clearly I was mistaken. Thanks for clearing that up, but I think the condescending attitude was a bit unnecessary. need matches 84 Posted October 12, 2013 (edited) Is this supposed to happen now?: I logged out behind a house in a village and when I logged back on, no loot at all. Nowhere. I logged out just outside Elektro and when I logged back on, no loot at all. AT ALL. I checked the entire city. I've found loot when starting...I use random spawn. Don't get me started on choices... But it seems, as above, when I log on by a town, the entire town has no loot at all. I even waited long enough for respawns. Anyone else having this issue??? It makes it useless to stop and restart a session apparently. Edited October 12, 2013 by need matches
madmark 0 Posted October 12, 2013 Your not alone. Since 1.8.2 I have also experienced several zero spawns in the 4 servers I regulary play on.Sometimes even after a fresh restart.I was at NW airfield just last night after a restart and the entire base contianed not even a single empty can! I searched every building nothing! Also Factories/Supermarkets now seem to have a high chance of containing nothing for me as well now.I don't want to return to massive can food spawns like 1.8. I would like to see a total overhaul of this whole loot table thing to balance out all the items in the game, now we have also crafting items to consider aswell.I know that is a lot of work but without it Dayz seems to be sinking under its own success with all the new items we can possibly have on the Loot Table. The spawning in of items just seems completly broken ever since 1.
fluxley 2228 Posted October 12, 2013 Loot not spawning correctly is a known bug, should be fixed in the next hotfix.
alphax 99 Posted October 13, 2013 Since 1.8 i started playing DayZ again, its by far one of the best updates we've got out.It really got me back in playing it, also some friends restarted playing it, we have to learn some new stuff, but with the new GUI and the Crafting stuff, its just awesome. The only thing i don't like that much is the spawn-rate of some stuff, its still not tooooo much, but it could be less. For example: the sandbags, they're needed to put down the stashes, wich are awesome and a bit to easy to get, the needed sandbags spawn a bit to often for my taste, one NWA-Run and i got a big stash. (Either i'm lucky or they are supposed to spawn that much). With the E-Tool its the same, its need to make the stashes and i find it everywhere, probably more often than a toolbox.I think we should reduce the spawn rate of the sandbags, at least till they're needed for other stuff too. Currently i wish we get some nice house-building stuff like in Epoch or at least like in Origins, its awesome to have a "home", player could build some first past-apocalyptic villages it would be a great addition to the regular DayZ. :)
rkshirey 0 Posted October 15, 2013 More loot. It's my first day and I can't find anything. I also get sepsis a lot...
oldfossil 59 Posted October 15, 2013 Hi,I have had a problem with putting on the back my primary gun.I patched DayZ and ArmAII at the last one available at the moment, by PW6.The problem occurred inside the big cow shed at Nizhnoye.I picked a DB shotgun in the main room, then I went inside the small side room and I found a Machete, so before to pick it up i tried to put the shotgun on my back, but the inventory side button to perform this action was not available, so I dropped the shotgun to get the machete. When I held it in hand the inventory button to put it on the back was active, but the shotgun disappeared so I lost it. I don't know if this is a problem related with the cowshed building or not. Many thanks for your valuable job.
Donair 1 Posted October 16, 2013 Seems to me when 1.8 came out they were trying to encourage players to KOS less and work together by adding in more loot and increasing the difficulty of zombies. However I'm sort of confused by the last two changes. The first change almost completely wiped out loot, now it seems like they were back to normal levels before 1.8. Anyone else feel me? Or am I insane?
monoking 22 Posted October 17, 2013 The low amount of loot now is normal because everyone was complaining that were too much loot everywhere in 1.8.0 so it got reduced again. So, theres just few piles around the city and buildings i don't think it will be fixed at all. This will just encourage loot farming even more to be honest. but oh well, hard to keep both sides happy.
madmark 0 Posted October 19, 2013 When are Tents going to be fixed? As of 1.8/1.8.1/and 1.8.2 they have been broken .Either they disapeer when placing on the ground or they refuse to save after a server restart. Also I have noticed on the 5 servers I mostly play on they have become as rare as night vision goggles!Does the spawn rate need to be that low?I suppose while they don't work is does not matter but if they ever gets fixed please look at the spawn rate as well. My guess is your host is still using outdated @hive's or 3rd party hives that no longer work with 1.8.
madmark 0 Posted October 20, 2013 Hi Razor. Thanks for the reply. There may not be a big array of others complaining because no one can find a tent to test it LOL! I do have a char' still going in Vanilla Dayz.com and will test it when I find one.
r4z0r49 4761 Posted October 20, 2013 I see tents being used every day on my servers with no reports of issues.
Cheboygan 93 Posted October 21, 2013 Mod's looking pretty good overall. I find matches to be unrealistically hard to find though. Something get tweaked there? I really don't know what to think about the zombies. I like them being difficult, but the glitchiness added with their strength just make it aggravating. Reverence 12 Posted November 1, 2013 I prefer the old dayz, medical loot wasn't so scarce, there was no infection, I mean come on since when do infected stay alive? Zombies seem to agro way to much. The worst for me is the whole infection, with antibiotics so scarce it's to me stupid hard to survive solo. At Christmas of last year was my favorite time in DayZ, do you mind letting me know what build that was and how I can go back to playing it?

At Christmas of last year was my favorite time in DayZ, do you mind letting me know what build that was and how I can go back to playing it? Before criticizing one should get his facts straight. Zeds are more dangerous than before, yes. Now they actually somewhat pose a threat. Before these changes they were just a mere annoyance, and this was wrong, since DayZ is supposed to be a zombie survival simulator/game. Infection is much rarer on 1.8.0.3, and also now there are antiseptic wipes which can prevent infection so you don't actually need antibiotics. All this time I've been playing on 1.8.0.3 I've only got infected once, used some wipes, no need for antis (I've found multiple wipes and 1 antis). Also you seem to think infection is the zombie virus. Well it's not, it's a simple bacterial infection, which if left untreated leads to sickness and eventually death. As for medical loot, I'm still finding morphine, epi-pens, blood bags in hospitals (medboxes are back) mainly -although a few days ago I found morphine in a firehouse-, so maybe you are looking in the wrong places. Oh and btw I'm also playing solo, and I can manage fine (without bloodbags/vehicles/stashes/tents and general support). If it weren't for people shooting me on sight I'd survive for years on this system :P Edited November 1, 2013 by h3l1x
unclegus 21 Posted November 4, 2013 Sorry if I'm repeating anything already mentioned in the 8 pages that I'm not going to read through. Also sorry for giving feedback on stuff that has been around for ages. I haven't played in a while. Overall, this patch is awesome. I love the new inventory/UI elements. The 1 2 3 weapon changes is GREAT and long overdue. I like how there's far more of an element of scrounging for survival now, with heaps of cans of food that give you a tiny bit of health to keep you alive, etc. I like how guns are very rare and how you basically should never use them against zombies because you instantly attract the horde; guns for PVP and melee for PVE, very nice. Crafting looks promising but somewhat crappy at the moment. I had all the components required for creating a barbed bat but it didn't recognise the baseball bat and wouldn't let me create the item, so I gave up on that. Some of the crafting items seem really unnecessarily complex for little gain, like crafting a bandage. I have not yet found all of the required components, yet I have found dozens of actual bandages, so what would be the point of crafting them? I am either extremely unlucky with vehicles, or there is a vehicle save bug. I had three vehicles disappear on me on consecutive nights and at least one of them I found back where it had spawned with the same gear in it as when I found it. I like the way the zombies behave now. It makes stealth/evasion a much more necessary and useful strategy, tied in with the risks of firing a weapon etc. I haven't found any silenced weapons yet but I'm guessing they will be very valuable. There might be a bug with the hospital glass as I have not been able to smash it either with a hatchet or by throwing cans at it. This might be intentional behaviour though. I haven't tried firing a weapon at it yet. I was driving a bus once and had stopped and zombies were able to hit me in the driver's seat. Bug or intended behaviour? If it is intended, I think it would be awesome if zombies had to smash the glass to be able to reach you first. This would add some value to repairing the glass on vehicles. I like the way zombies can knock you over. Choosing a spawn point is an interesting change. I think I like it, but either way, the fact that it is a server setting makes it awesome. Not spawning with a flashlight is a good change. I like having a chance to prevent infection before it starts, so that having antibiotics is not necessary. The extra loot spawn points in doorways and under carports and under wrecked trucks and things is fantastic. It adds a lot more interactivity on the map. I think I saw a zombie spawn out in the forest once? Might have just been really lost or lured out by another player, but if not, excellent! Add more risks to the uninhabited places. At the very least it makes the hours spent running across the wilderness more interesting. I think maybe some zombies are spawning already dead? This is great because it means you can't be sure if someone is around or not. If it's a bug, then keep it as a feature. That's all I can think of right now. Keep up the awesome work! unclegus 21 Posted November 4, 2013 One more: it would be cool if when you're using a melee weapon, the rifle that you have in the "holding" position is visible on your character. Otherwise you might try to take someone on when they're weilding a hatchet and suddenly they pull an AK out of their bunghole.

r4z0r49 4761 Posted November 6, 2013 Really because last time I checked the infection leads to you becoming a zombie. That is "DayZ Epoch" not "DayZ". Dayz hit infection is just an infected wound. Hit infection simulates the infections you get from being injured and the wound going untreated.
