Another vote for Van Isle? Yay. I will mention it takes 95 minutes via ferry to the mainland... would be a long journey for survivors.

 

Yeah that is why I like the area by Campbell River, the small islands there create almost a bridge across for peeps without a boat or raft. And yeah, plenty to do on the water (Strait of Georgia is like 50 km at widest part I believe), with Texada Island and all the others. Maybe I will work on this at some point. :D

Just had an interesting idea. Not for an official map mind you. I have been here in Mexico City for near 2 years now. It would be crazy to have a DayZ map set here. Like 80% of the map would be just a maze of streets with concrete buildings and house all crammed together. Although it would probably never be done.. just too many buildings to create lol. But still.. zombie apocalypse in mexico city! haha

Mexico is in North America. Still, I recommend everyone to google the maps and pictures of it. There are some gorgeous places to be found and very interesting terrain. Oh, and all the military grade weapons you want! :D

Yeah there are plenty of beautiful sights to see here. Well, not many in Mexico City lol. Recently went to this wicked river in the jungle near Huatulco. Check it out on trip advisor. On that page there are visitor photos to look at.

I would like it to be set in a similar climate as Namalsk, you know, getting cold easily, snowish, strange shit going on like in Russia :). Somewhere around Ural mountains I guess. And a river or two bros.

Release it anywhere but in this decade :facepalm:  I'm so sick of DayZ making progress already, I've owned the mod for 2 for days and will wait forever until SA with the new map is out.

It is very difficult to get a gun in the UK from what I hear.

Though I do see some Scandanavian stuff being possible.

I dont think location based on gun laws matter.

If an apocalypse happened, any weapons would flood the place with security forces and black market demands. If an army or foreign forces came to attempt to restore order, weapons would be all over the place!

Which would sit well for us players who like a variety of places, I too wohld like to see a NZ map, such a lovely topography!

Strange, I have recently been wondering if we could play DayZ inside a massive building, point being to escape by going up and out from the roof.

 

Player starts off by entering the building looking for supplies and is locked inside (Or they try getting out from the top), unknown to them the building is a huge zombie area, with escape and survival being the only means to get out.  they make their way up (Or down) as many other survivors do and eventualy meeting other players and either getting along or solo.  I would like to see this in any game let alone DayZ.

 

Yeah, a pipe dream but I would love the claustrophobia of the situation.

I have to say, GB, (Soviet)Russia and northern USA + Canada would all be great. But please not something like Altis / greece or any jungle. GB is probably my favorite atm. And let's not have gunlaws ruin the location. I'm all for realism and authenticity & what not, but laws...? pff. Made to be broke imho.
