Hi! First post, just to let people know I'm playing at low detail/quality with 1600 draw distance at 40-60fps in countryside, around though mostly above 30fps in towns on........wait for it.........on a £70 amd a8-5600k apu @4ghz with cheap ballistix tactical 4gb 1866mhz ram on an ultra cheap asrock fm2a55m-dgs using internal gpu!!!

Anyone with dt i3/athlon ii and gt440/hd6570 or above will be just fine and the game will be perfectly playable, I did do the 'fixes' posted on here though but didnt play without so dont really know if they work.

Sooooooo....... agreeing with deebz1234 please stop willy waving your big £££ intel specs around asking 'can i play on this?' lol

Not to rain on your parade but you are just lucky, arma is extremely temperamental and can do things like that..

Could it not be more a case of it runs poorly regardless of spec? I saw a youtube review of a steambox fitted with a pentium the guy described dayz experience just like I have, low settings and 25-60 fps, you dont have to look too far to find a bigger spec machine running it at similar fps.

Just wondering what anyone would think I should upgrade first as I only get max 25fps (even when running very low settings) in game, budget around 150 / $200

If you can go 30$ over budget id reccommend upgrading to the i5 3570k, as your gpu should be fine for now.

Thanks for your reply,

I was slightly confused because i'm getting a no on this forum but yet i saw someone with the same APU on youtube playing the game at low/medium settings at 25-30FPS. I'll download the Arma 2 trial when i get the laptop and see how that runs based on that.

I hesitate to predict how many fps you will get but the CPU is quite good, based on the i5 2500k but with some functions removed.

I am a little confused by the GPU line in your question, is that a choice ?

I would say around 20-30, in some situations it could go higher.

Yes you should be able to play it im not sure but im guessing about medium high settings with about 30-40 fps in cities and 50-60 in the field

Desktop or laptop: Desktop

AMD FX-6300 @ 4.0 GHZ

8GB 1600 MHZ RAM

ATI SAPPHIRE HD 7770: 1 GB 1020 MHz

1TB HDD 7200RPM

What FPS with a mixture of med-high settings, please say both in forests and in Cherno/electro with 150 Ping.

Thanks.

Everything looks good, although I am not quite sure how well ArmA II likes the 6 core design of the 6300.

If everything goes OK, you might be getting ~30+ on normal settings. In forests and cities it may drop to 20 or under.
