Hi @ll

im planning to upgrade my processor as i have low fps in city's with my phenom 2 x3 720.

has anybody experience with the new intel i5 4570 processor in dayz ?

my build will be :

CPU : intel i5 4570

GPU : sapphire hd7850 1gb

RAM : 8gb DDR3 1600Mhz cl9

HDD : OCZ Vertex 3 128gb SSD

how much fps can i except +- with this config ?

thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english :)

greets fengu

EDIT : Sorry i found the answer in this post

This will perform quite similair to 4670k, 200mhz increase won't make a much difference, except you can't overclock. I'd say 40-50 fps in towns. 60-70 fps outside on normal/low with full HD. My old 570GTX struggled to run high on full hd. If you want to run very high, get atleast a 760GTX. That's where it starts to bottleneck for me.

Depends on your budget. A really bang for a buck gpu would be the GTX 760, If you don't have so much money maybe 7870 or gtx 660. GTX 760 Can easily run on full HD on very high with no gpu bottleneck but not on MAX. HDR/postprocessing eats it for breakfast. "I have it"

The fps would be similair to to guy i quoted above with a hard guess, as i get minimum 50 fps in towns on 4770k 4.5GHZ.

the 7870XT is also a very good card. It uses the newer tahiti LE chipset so its somewhat faster then a regular 7870.

No clue why its so cheap but nonetheless very good card.

It will run DayZ at a playable level but only on low-normal settings with relatively low FPS.

What is "relatively low FPS"? Is it like 10 or 30 or something else?

I'd say 20-50, depending on where he is and what's going on.

with Fx6300 won't get u 50-60fps either on high. Even if you have a 780GTX the cpu will bottleneck it till 30-40fps in towns.

lol

thats very strange because im getting 60fps on mine at the moment and 40-50 in towns

Well, my old laptop which barely ran DayZ died, so I ordered the Sager NP8235

http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8235-clevo-p151sm1-p-5840.html

4th Generation Intel® Haswell Core™ i7-4700MQ (2.4GHz - 3.4GHz)

NVIDIA® GeForce™ GTX 770M (3.0GB) GDDR5

Was about to build a PC, but it's out of the question given my current situation. I know I need at least 3.0 GHz to get good FPS in areas like Cherno, but it looks like the processor can be overclocked no? I've also heard of people getting decent FPS with 2.4 GHz processors on laptops, so I'm not too concerned. I also play other games as well, so if I can't play DayZ, it isn't the end of the world.

I wouldn't recommend overclocking anything inside a laptop. They're designed to deal stay at a safe temperature on their stock settings and sometimes even struggle with that. Overclocking is just asking for trouble.

That will run the mod okay on normal to high settings, you'll be bottlenecked a bit by the CPU unfortunately which will more than likely stop you from bumping the more intensive settings up to high.

It will run less CPU intensive games great though.

You got the one i thought you would get... :D

Welcome, your Topic has been merged.

I would go for a dedicated GPU.

FPS will depend on in-game settings.

I'd go with the second one. The CPUs are a pretty close call but the 7790 is a slightly more powerful graphics card.

Should net you 30+ FPS on medium settings and has the potential to go much higher if you upgrade the graphics card later. :)

That seems about right.

It will be higher outside of Cherno but within Cherno/Elektro even the best rigs take a large performance hit.

It's still perfectly playable but if you're worried about the FPS you should give DayZero a try - some very nice optimization on their mod.
