Most fun way to play Dayz.

Hey guys so me and my friend have been playing dayz for about a month and we mostly play overwatch. We have always played by gathering gear and getting tents and making a camp on the west side of the map and we basically go on loot runs into nwaf or stary or green mountain and we slowly build up our camp until we have tons of end game gear along with vehicles and choppers. however most of the time you cant hide a camp forever and eventually it will always be found. Im wondering if this is the most fun way to play dayz? we basically keep all of the good gear at the camp and do low risk runs until we have so much stuff and eventually we get bored and switch servers. Should we be playing dayz this way or is there a better way to play it that is much more fun? we were thinking of just never making a camp so all the gear you have is always with you so the stakes are much higher and it would be more entertaining however if we died we worry that it might to demotivating to wont to start all over again. In conclusion i want to know how do you guys play dayz and whats the best way to play it while using end game gear but at the same time having it be really enjoyable.

There's no "fun way" and "not fun way" to play DayZ, it varies for everyone. My play style depends on the mod, server, hive, and my mood. There's thousands of things you can do if you want to try something different.

 

Here's a small list (there's way more, just be creative):

 

- Be a Hero

- Be a Bandit

- Be a Hermit

- Run a Taxi Service

- Hunt Bandits

- Start a trading business on your service

- Stalk people

- Go tent hunting

 

and the list goes on...

 

There is also many ways you can go about doing what I listed above. Just be creative.

I have the most fun on mod versions and servers where it is actually hard to survive.  Low loot, no cpu a.i. to ambush, no traders, ect.   Unlike the beginning days of DayZ most DayZ mods are now focused only on PVP and hoarding high end items  For me Overwatch has too much high end goodies.

For me? I hate, absolutely HATE babysitting a vehicle or a camp; I'm all mobile on foot. I only hoard what I can carry. For me, the fun way of playing is shoot every-other-person you meet, otherwise say hi and act friendly for an hour or so, and then kill them.

I'm a boring person but if I'm playing alone and have some binoculars or a rifle with a scope I like to just watch places go to hell.

 

If I'm alone I generally work to get a vehicle for when my friends get on, if it's on a survival server. Otherwise I'm generally watching and shooting people who I think deserve to be shot. I find killing on sight to be dull.

You and Applejaxc are the kind of people id like to meet IRL. I would tie you up and do a little waterboarding. I would make you explain why you do this and when you cry and say "it's fun to me", i would torture you more and shout "not good enough! BE MORE SPECIFIC!". I would make you explain from the depths of your heart why you get enjoyment for ruining games for other people and do it such a fashion there is no challenge at all. You are the scum of online gaming. If i had to guess you had a hard childhood and you are trying to pay it back this way. So sad...

 

Back to topic.

 

Most fun and challenging is playing a hero. KoS all bandits. Try to help all others. Only shoot back if you have to. Raid hospitals and supermarkets, give medical help to others and even give them some of your gear. This is really challenging and rewarding style. It makes it easier if you do it in a group.

 

Other really fun way to play is just stalk people. Dont shoot, dont help, just follow them and try to remain hidden all the time. It makes your heart jump and its really fun! ;)

loving overwatch atm, it's a refreshing change. My server has AI and I think they are scousers, unless you take a wheel off your vehicle they will have it off lol

No, for me it's more like, "Hey if I help you do this, I want your M9/Fal/DMR/etc in return." And I genuinely attempt to help them have fun accomplishing their goal. And then I shoot them with the gun they give me. I try not to do it to new players too much...

Judeing by your playstyl I recommend dayz origins. You can build houses which are mostly save from raiding and you dont havw to worry so much about your gear.

There is plenty stuff to such as raiding sector b for a high military loot or the small barrack, where usally some guys are on everytime. Despite the disrespect from this community abot this mod I quite like it and you too should give it a try.

 I'm kind of the same way about camps.  I like being mobile and don't see the point in being tied to a particular region of the map, just so I can help passerby's stock up on stuff.  I sometimes like operating out of a decent off-road vehicle.  But again, you have to always keep an eye on the vehicle and that can get tiresome.

 

Sometimes I just like sitting and watching people through some binocs or a scope.  One time I must have spent an hour watching that factory outside of Kamenka (or Kamaorva) at night.  Every few minutes, a flare would pop out of the darkness.  Then another.  Then I'd see some new spawn throw a few more into the factory.  Then they would run in to loot it.  Then a couple dozen zombies.  Then "so and so has died".  A few minutes after the last flare goes out, the process would start again.

Get in close to unsuspecting survivors and talk to them in direct, always maintaining at least minimal cover. Measuring what to do after that is the best par of this game
