DayZ Origins' Developers mass banning innocent people from their mod

i don't know if this is the right forum to post this.

but after 3 days of trying to get things sorted out in the dayzorigins forum, i just wanted to tell the story to others and ask for their opinion.

 

so where to start ...

 

me and my friends play on a "OFFICIAL DAYZ ORIGINS" server. on 08/18/2013 i tried to log into the game and got a message that i was kicked of the game and i'm admin banned for origins servers. (along with 6/8 guys i used to play with)

so i went to the forums to clear things up, if something went wrong.

there were alot of people pretending they were incorrectly banned. so i tried to get in contact with the admins/developers. after 3 days i finally got the answer to my question, why i was banned.

the dev (AlexSpain) told me i used some kind of cheat menu.

he checked 3 different guys which also used these cheat menus.

that is just ridiculous i don't even know what this could be.

There were about 6500 people globally banned on origins servers last time someone checked the bans.txt file on their server.

 

admins are getting banned from their own servers.

the server i used to play dropped in population from 30+ in the afternoon to 1-2 players. most of the server population is banned.

 

i tried to convinced the developers, that their homebrew anti-hax routine must be incorrect, but all you get ist something like "... we just ban cheaters, there are no mistakes, cheaters, cheaters, xD, , 8)..."

 

do they even have the rights to randomly ban people of their mod ?

Origin has gone to shit anyway and it will continue to do so - try DayZero, it's the 'big' mod at the moment.

i really liked the Origins Mod, but maybe it's time to try something new.

 

however it's a shame that they are destroying their own community by incorrectly banning people and pretending their anti-hax thing is unfailable.

Most of the code used was stolen from ArmA script creators and then used without permission or credit given, including the Dayz code.

The Origins team are the scum of the earth and the sooner people fuck them off and find something else, the better :d hit the cash whores where it hurts ... their wallets.

 

I have high hopes for the new Aftermath mod, that's going to be soooo good.

Anyhoo. I still enjoy origins for the house building aspect alone. If only another mod would introduce even one single small building or lockable cache that can't be fucked with and run over with a car, I'd be all over it. Hopefully this is coming in Aftermath.

Thanks for the heads-up OP.  I don't play Origins as much any more, but I'll have to check if I'm banned when i get home from work just for curiosity's sake.

Yeah, it is "their" (quotations because it's arguable if they truly own it) mod and community, they can make it or break it however they like. It's really just crippling themselves, though, since there are plenty of competing mods to convert to.

 

And there is NO such thing as a Flawless anti-hack. The most accurate and reliable form of detection you'll ever get is your own eyes and ears, and even then you can get it wrong.

Try out Epoch. You can get lockable safes that can't be destroyed and can be placed in buildings.

To be honest I'm not surprised that Origins would do that.

 

I never really enjoyed that mod.  I tried it several times but it just never grasped my attention.  The only mod of DayZ I've actually enjoyed is Epoch.  It's a good mix of vanilla DayZ and Origins I guess.  I'd suggest giving it a try.  Musty Gaming's Epoch servers are a blast so if you do decide to give Epoch a try, I would recommend checking out their servers http://mustygaming.com/wp/

There isn't much we can do (we'd probably get hit with a Cease and Desist order written in crayon if we tried because the Origins guys are very scary).

 

But the Origins devs have been dodgy fuckers from the get go so i cant say i am surprised that they are acting like....dodgy fuckers.

 

Jump on another mod, there is plenty of good stuff out there.

Hi Everyone,


My name is Radical I currently run the number one DayZ Origins server in the world on GameTracker, I was a major part within the development of DayZ Origins and its team back when GamersPlatoon created it.


My involvement was the new implementation of a number of features you are playing at the moment including vehicles, weapons and characters, I also ran a large clan by the name of JokerZ when after a year of being in GamersPlatoon I found a number of really major flaws in their anti-hack system and the management of their community and servers.


Bans


While people were getting banned left right and centre I took it on the head like it was just general hackers but after a number of months of personally investigating their systems and looking into the code of why they were banning people I had found that thousands of players on their servers were getting banned for no reason or just for simple code kicks that could have been anything from the wrong file being placed somewhere on ure system to the way people were modifying their games while playing other Arma mods etc… After a while I had actually found two major bugs in their system which people were getting banned for on a daily basis (Over 3000) people roughly were in the system and getting banned on their so called “Global Database” which proved that even they did not have a 100% anti-hack system in place and that the system had a bunch of flaws which was killing DayZ Origins and banning their legit players daily.


They agreed to me that they would unban these people and in doing so they “Randomly” handpicked a bunch of GUIDS and unbanned “some” of the people (around 300 at a time) while they released news on their forums stating it was over (3000) people getting unbanned. I agreed that I would help them in solving some of their flaws and in doing so spent hours a day going through their logs and talking with the developer of Origins (Alex) on what each thing meant.


After seeing clan members of my own getting banned for the same flaws 2 weeks later it soon came to me that they had no respect for the mod or their community and was pushing them in changing their tactics which resulted in me resigning in peace and posting a friendly message on their forums stating to the community that I would no longer be an admin in their community due to the way things were managed and that I wanted no part in their business plan with Origins. This thread was deleted and I was perma banned from their TS and Forums without warning (A nice goodbye to one of their fellow admins who had just spent a year working with them and their community).


From there I managed to retrieve my clan “JokerZ” which was created before joining GP which KingHunt claimed that due to us being in GP and growing within GP that the clan belonged to GamersPlatoon, I simply just took it with nothing and grabbed all my loyal members and left to another TS.


I now run the number one DayZ Origins server in the world and a fast growing community by the name of Gaming Cabin which makes sure things like these do not ruin peoples game time. Today I found with their new (Global Ban Release) which basically involved GP copy and pasting their servers bans.txt to our servers that the people spoken about are still in the bans list as well as a bunch of people who may of got banned just for being disrespectful to GP thus banning people who may be our friends, family and just the general DayZ community.


I would like to urge people to share and like this post to help promote the pure disrespect that Origins developers have for their community and to release all the files to the public so different communities around the world are able to implement real time systems and admins to combat their own hackers and not have Origins developers make these decisions them selfs. I also urge that people forward this info onto Battleye in protest.


I have not been banned to date and still remain on the same IP and GUID as always but we will see if they reply with their (Global anti hack) system which is basically pure disrespect to the DayZ community and Bohemia Interactive.

Origins/GP/KingCunt are just in it for the money, sooner people ditch the shit mod and let it die, the better :)

 

Dayz Unleased will have house building, hopefully that will become the new 'thing' for people who like building houses
