kevsta545 451 Posted August 12, 2013 Hello there,Watching the new standalone dev blogs seem to be that the frame rate can hiccup at times, (and guessing that the computer used in the devblog is at a very high standard) this makes me a little worried. Currently in places like elektro or cherno cities my FPS can drop to 10-5 FPS while normally running at about 30. I would hope to see some of the hiccups fixed. But after all, its still VERY early for me to be requesting fixes XD as the game is still in development. But I would like some current FPS fixes in the current dayz mod. Thanks for reading and have a nice day -kevsta545 (dfbrown in game dayz)
-Se7eN- 874 Posted August 12, 2013 Bare in mind that the game isnt even in alpha yet, performance isnt what they are concentrating on in early development, when a developer adds new features it tends to cause lag and then after its added it gets optimized, thats why we are most likely seeing FPS drops during video's, i can assure you that before the release of the public alpha they will optimize the game to run better, id expect to see something along the lines of how ArmA 3 runs.

Statik (DayZ) 2695 Posted August 12, 2013 It's pre-alpha, it's going to be buddy. The game uses parts of the A3 engine, and when it's released it's going to run much smoother than A2/DayZ.
FrostDMG 398 Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) Arma 3 runs fine for me right now (it was absolutely awful about 2 months ago)... GTX 770, 4670k, 4GB RAM ezpz Edited August 12, 2013 by FrostDMG

Cap'n (DayZ) 1827 Posted August 12, 2013 Dean records and plays off of a 2009-2010 Alienware M17. With a pretty mediocre processor and GPU by todays standard(5870m and i7 920), he seems to be getting decent FPS. he mentioned in one of the earlier devblogs that he records primarily on Normal settings, and he's getting 40 fps minimum even in Vybor on a pretty mediocre rig. So, I can base off that the Standalone is going to run MUCH better than ArmA 2, and the minimum requirements should be a Radeon HD 6670(for like, low settings @ 60fps), or a 7750(for 60 fps on normal settings). By my standards, if you spent more than $550 on a rig you SHOULD be able to accomplish medium settings ATM on ArmA 2. It will probably run similar, if not better than A3 so let's all be optomisitc. Oh, and everyone who disables grass and shadows for an advantage, fuck you.

Interesting, that's almost the same setup I have, except mine's a desktop, so the GPU isn't the mobile edition and my processor's overclocked to 4.0ghz... I get fine framerates though with some mixed settings, 40-60 generally with some bouts of 25 in the cities (ugh). I think they should force shadows in the SA, otherwise you've got an automatic disadvantage for simply wanting your game to look good.

Cap'n (DayZ) 1827 Posted August 13, 2013 I hope they use the lighting and physics of A3 and all the other lovely little bits go to TOH.
shadow ghoul 17 Posted August 14, 2013 get a better computer and it wont be a problem. Im running 3570k, 8gb ram, gtx680 2gb vram and i get like 40fps in big cities. Also if you play with postprocessing effects you may want to rethink your life
JustThatEpic 72 Posted August 14, 2013 Also if you play with postprocessing effects you may want to rethink your life I think that's a personal preference. I personally like the motion blur and the way it looks on the horizon. get a better computer and it wont be a problem. I think they should force shadows in the SA, otherwise you've got an automatic disadvantage for simply wanting your game to look good. If they were to force shadows then I would hope they would have something that could check your PC rig, ingame and if you're specs are really low, then shadows can be off. If I could I would play on very high settings but I'm forced to play on the lowest of lowest settings with shadows off if I want to get 20-30 fps. Shadows take up a huge part of my fps and if they were forced on I would be looking at a big fps drop.

To have better fps on game what should I change ? good video card = all graph on normal , good process = amd athlon phenom x2That CPU is pretty weak. I'd suggest you'd get a Phenom II X4, it's a decent processor and a full quad core, so it makes up for the clock speed by getting better performance in CPU leaning games over other AMD mid end CPU's(ie: 4300, 4100, 6100). For a GPU, a 7750 or GTX 650 could pull off medium with some pretty good framerates.
