Get a mic, use direct.

You can all still communicate with each other with direct, if you don't have a mic then get one, being without is like being without a mouse.

Side chat circumvents the use of direct, which with it positional sound location, added with the audio method of locating a person is a great mechanic to have.

Like severs that are on easy mode that give your real time location on a map, nullifying the use and need for GPS, severs that do still have side chat also take a lot away from the game.

Stop this none sense, side chat must be removed in the interest of game play

The thing is it isn't a choice of one or the other. Side chat is for having fun, talking to everyone on the server, meeting up with people, leading people into traps etc, everything that radios will be used for when they are in. Direct chat is for talking to people you can see so they know you are watching them, i.e. holding people up, warning people of their situation, scaring people etc.

This is great, and I'm sure radios will be awesome. But until they in WHY remove all communication. Its a bad decision to take out important features when you don't have the replacements ready yet.

I think that Side chat is nice. You can chat with other people, talk about what is going on, that wierd sunset you just saw, or maybe something entirely diffrent. Its kinda MMO-ish you know. Its fun!

For all the ´´Realism´´ people, side chat could be implemented in radio form, you could disable or enable it, or we could have servers with, or without. Just like 3rd person right now!

I enjoy talking to my fellow suvivors, be that bandit or otherwise.

Well if you can't have Side chat at least have something to where I can notify an Admin right there on the spot about a Hacker. And something to ID who it was. Waiting for help on Forums isn't going to do the trick.

There is a way, just type what you see into direct chat as it happens, along with times, then find out who the server owner is and tell them to check the chat logs. I've gotten a few extremely racist people removed from the server that way, I'm waiting for them to complain about it so I can post exactly what they were saying and smile as their tale on innocence crumbles.

No for side chat. They need to focus more on direct channel, making sure mic's work properly through it, and using your mic to communicate. I've been saved numerous times by simply telling someone through direct channel "YOU GET!" .

Those who complain they don't own a mic are null and void, since you can pick one up for a measly $10 ...
