SoWeMeetAgain 100 Posted July 22, 2013 So I've been getting killed left and right every time I stopped being a lone wolf and tried to interact with players. I do have a hero skin from helping the occasional person who needed help. I decided I would go and be way more agressive towards anyone I see, not trusting anyone, shoot anybody who sees me. Interestingly with a heightened awareness resulting from this new mindset I managed to avoid everyone even in populated areas, for a while. And I did not have to shoot anyone.And it was still lonely and boring. So when I got cornered by a newly spawn in a firestation I was torn between shooting him as soon as he comes up the stairs or not... when I saw he had a hero skin, I decided not to shoot him. Killed the zombies he had on his tail. Told him hello, asked if he needed anything.Turned my back, he picked up a shotgun and shot me in the back I had just turned on him. Fuck. King of kong 1117 Posted July 22, 2013 I've only played DayZ for a short while in my friends house and i'm always a bandit, i've never been a hero, i actually do quite well on my own, i never take players on in the open when i can help it, i team with them then betray them, it might seem morally low, but it is how i survive, i have killed 3 heros and 5 non-heros and 8 bandits in my characters life, you should try being a bandit, you will survive for longer. khaenz 93 Posted July 26, 2013 Had a similar thing happen to me today about these false heroes. I was on Elektro schools roof, low on blood when I see a hero run into the convenience store. I beg for a blood bag and offer stuff like an M14 for it, he is silent and keeps looting buildings until he reaches the school. I try to talk to him in direct, and then he comes up to the roof, walks backwards into the doorway (And I guess he hasn't seen me yet, so I ask him for a bloodbag in direct) He ignores me, and goes the other side of the schools roof. I follow him and he has his back turned to me once again. I bump into him and say "Hey, could I get a bloodbag?" and he fires full-auto AK at me. Luckily he only hit once, and I was left with around 300 blood while he was dead. He had everything. Rangefinders, NV goggles, Coyote Backpack etc. That bastards name was Xope. Another thing that happened to me was when I found a car, I was surrounded by 3 heroes and they said "Get out, we need to go north". I answered "No, it's my car, but I can give you a lift :)".
