Recommended Posts

I started playing DayZ because i found out about it through a friend. I only started playing it because i had so much time on my hands because i had only just started treatment for my A.l.l so i was never in school.

Im now saving to buy a sweet pc and play without going below 2 fps

Saw DayZ for the first time on Dendi's livestream over a year ago, and it instantly caught my attention. After that I found some awesome gameplay videos on youtube (mainly Sacriel42, but also a little credit to ThatSneakyDuck and others) and I've been hooked ever since. Convinced some of my friends to buy the game as well, good times!

I was looking for an open-world zombie game for a while, where you had to loot for items, but all I could find were silly pay-to-win mmos where you leveled up a character by grinding on zombies.. then one day I hear something on a forum about a cool zombie mod that recently came out a few months ago, and I look it up on YouTube. First thing I watch is Frankie's videos on it, and I fall in love. I was into ArmA II Free at that time, so I already knew how to play, how the weapons worked, and how the inventory system worked. I found out it was for Operation Arrowhead so I bought it and installed DayZ. Best decision of my life.

My brother and I were discussing how we would design our perfect zombie game and how we would focus more on the survival aspect and the social interactions than the zombies. In the middle of the conversation he said "look at this, we should try this out!".

This all happened in April 2012. Been playing since.

I have always been a fan of zombies in general and one day I was surfing the web for an open world sandbox zombie game. I came across a youtube video of some guys in cherno shooting zombies and running for their lifes and for about 2 weeks straight I was hooked on youtube dayz videos. I then got it myself and it has been one of the most memorable games I have ever played. I still remember the first time I played...seriously ran from zombies my first 3 lifes for hours lol.

Ever since the age of 8, I've always wanted a Zombie Apocalypse Simulator. Now it's here and I love it. Although incredibly buggy, I have spent around 500 hours on this mod and around 300 hours on ArmA 2. Possibly the best game I have bought.

I first learned of DayZ through youtube, i was looking for "Open-world Zombie-survival games" and i found a gameplay video of DayZ and decided to watch it, i was interested by the actual survival aspect, unlike otherzombie games, the aim was surviving, not killing. I was drawn by the graphics, the realism, and the massive world. Currently i have only played DayZ at a friend's house and i already i have killed 6 people and found 12 good vehicles, and i found 3 vehicles packed with supplies. I hope to get the SA game if my Windows 7 laptop will run it, 9My laptop cannot run Stalker: Clear sky so im guessing it won't run dayZ.

Some arma guy posted a vid on a forum of him and two mates running around in a field trying to outrun a heap of zeds, one of them stopped and acted as bait so his mates could get away and went down shooting, the zeds latched onto the other two and killed them in the middle of a road near a forest while they were carrying on in a mad panic over ts. That was in May and i had it that night.

Heard about it through friends and saw game play videos on YouTube. First thing I did after ordering the parts to my PC earlier this year was buy ArmA 2 Combined Ops in anticipation for installing DayZ.

If it wasn't for DayZ I probably wouldn't have became interested in ArmA as well. Playing ArmA regularly is fun as well as playing Wasteland once DayZ starts to get boring.

I didn't find DayZ it found me, searching youtube for Arma contents such as script tutorials and that sort of thing. When I came across quite an interesting video of a few lads running through a village in the pitch darkness with flares and flashlights as their only source of light, being chased by infected and screaming like little girls (The funniest thing I had ever seen).

To this day it has to be my favourite video of DayZ, but unfortunately I can't seem to find it. Due to the amount of Dayz related vid's nowadays.

After all the manual installing and 20+ minutes to join a server I got my first taste of what these guys had been experiencing and not soon after died to the infected. (Screaming like a little girl myself).

I came to it through CHKilroy, who was also responsible for me coming to ArmA 2(late 2010). I remember his series, The Days Ahead. I was mesmerized. Never before have I been this obsessed about getting into a game. I downloaded the mod, and ended up in this hellhole with my favorite people on the internet.
