Do You Regret Anything You Have Done In DayZ?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I just decided to put this thread together due to the fact that I am a bit bored. :P But anyways have you ever done something in DayZ that you regret? One time I killed a survivor that lagged out.... And it was my first time playing and he actually teamed with me. I guess I was a bit hyped and I decided that I was going to be a nice guy from there on.

Once I did let my friend kill an innocent guy that was fully packed up (he killed him for his gear). I still regret i didnt kill him straight afterwards.

Giving a friend the keys to my server. That counts right?

There was one night when I was challenged by a friend who implied that the reason Hero's were Hero's was because they were a shite shot. 15 murders and 7 beers later untouched, including a kill @ 1244 meters I felt my humanity leaking from my seems. Logged back in the next day to my first ever bandit skin on public hive, immediately regretting my drunken decision I began ninja blood bagging unknown players to get back to my normal state.

I ran into a couple of guys with broken legs at Balota, they were crawling to Cherno to look for morphine. Having none, I told them I would look for some. Couldn't find any in the immediate area, ran back to Balota and started running along their last known vector. Caught up with them still crawling, said 'Sorry bros, couldn't find any morphine, but let me end your suffering.' Plugged 'em both helpless and all to send them back to the beach. Still felt a little bad.

Oh the amount of times a player has seen my hero skin and thought " easy target" and been so wrong steak and potatoes

I've had a lot of training in wasteland which has saved my ass a few times

Even scared the crap out of some bandits in a heli when I only had an ak once

But in topic, yeah I've a few regrets, usually when I'm on the trail of bandits I missed an opportunity once

Gunned down two of them and had the others pinned inside the namalsk bunker

Could have hid their bodies, blown up their verchiles and hit a better weapon and waited them out

But no I ran in and got killed so they didn't really lose anything

Yes.

Firstly accidentally ramming into a helicopter full of team mates, as was mine.

We recovered 90% of the loot but... facepalm (

).

Secondly, today I logged in and after five minutes (pretty much in the middle of nowhere) I panicked and killed a man.

Turns out it was the same guy I kitted out at NWAF and gave my Land Rover to the other day, I feel so ashamed.

I set up at tent at the place he died and put all his loot in it and some medical supplies, not sure if he will find it as the server I play on does not have side chat enabled.

I met this guy on Taviana a long time ago who claimed to have never before tried the map. We met up on the bridge between islands and because he did not shoot me outright, I figured he was a legit friendly, or noob or whatever. I had a British Offroad at the time. We rode over to the airport and eventually arrived at the field by the barracks north of Martin. By that time, he had broken his leg somehow, and we were driving a red VW. I volunteered to crawl into the barracks and search for morphine to deal with his wounds.

I made it into the barracks, found morphine, everything was cool. Next thing, he drives our car into the middle of the base and aggros a ton of zeds. I give him the medicine and he asks me to check the other two barracks. As I am going room by room, he drives off in our car stating in chat something like "thanks for the wheels, fool."

A short time later he and some buddy are shooting people over on the bridge where we met, while spouting off about being awesome bandits. At any rate, I found a huey and offered them a ride if they would meet me at the central airport. They did. They came right out on the runway, but would not get out of (my) their car. So I dove into them doing about 150.

What do I regret? I bailed out of the chopper about fifty meters up. A good captain always goes down with his ship. Oh, well maybe next time.

Running like a bitch.

When i was heading up towards Berezino way, totally lost and looking for the coast to get my bearings. I broke free of some forest into an open field and heard a noise..a tractor was heading down a grass hill to my right and i was like..woooooah..it was one of the first vehicles i had seen..i didn't even know there was a tractor in game. Two dudes were running behind the tractor, i was like 'Yoohoo ! i'm over here guys !! hiiiiii fellow survivors !!' and just stood there with my mouth agape..the tractor moved towards me and then both guys opened up on me..i shit bricks and booked it back into the forest with bullets zipping all around me and managed to get even deeply more lost in a panic run to fuck knows where.

I had a couple of drinks and decided to try and see if the UAZ would float in Pobeda Dam.

It didn't.

Flaming ball of fire, killed myself and a friend, and had to wear the "Merp" cone for a week.

I was driving with a friend somewhere up north, when we spot a guy running along the road. I yell at him to not run on the roads in direct and then proceed to smash into him and break his leg. We then continue on our road trip.

Oh wait. That actually gives me a tingly feeling. I have no regrets. :D

I regret missing open shots and letting someone live.

Me too. Although I also regret the few times I have shot someone thinking they were the ones who'd shot at me. Can't win sometimes.

I have a few things I regret,

1st. Awhile back when I was new to DayZ and a noob a hero had offered to teach me the ropes after 2 weeks of playing with each other he had gotten to trust me so he showed me his camp and whatever, so one day bandits offered a chopper to kill the Hero who had killed them and looted all their gear like an as50 so I got excited about the chopper and all the other crap since I was new so I straight up killed him in the nwaf and led the bandits to our camp they gave me a nice uh1h with an m107 and ghillie. But the thing that bothered me after that was what i thought and he said, I mean I was stupid for doing that all those countless hours we had worked on repairng cars and gathering the tents and supplies, but he was also the person who taught me how to play DayZ and how fun it was so that bothered me, but what really bothered me was that in side chat he said he was saving all that gear and cars to give to me since he was starting his own server so I basically gave away all my stuff for the heli and the chance to roll with the bandits. ( sorry if this makes no sense and has a lot of grammar errors really tired today)

An epic story of betrayal, I would really be ashamed.

I got nothing to regret. I never opened fire on another player, if it wasnt in pure selfdefence.

I shot a bandit in berezino who then left

checked him out he had nothing on him and then his freinds told me he was a newbie and that was his first guy

he had just picked up the bandit costume on the way there, to meet his freinds, because it looked cool

I had intel there was a main rotor assembly in clan-controlled cherno, so I made my way there for a daring night time raid of the industrial area. i had very limited supplies and was not prepared to handle a fire fight with geared bandits. also, i had to reach berezino before server restart to meet up with my partner so we could fix the heli he had found.

after obtaining the rotor, an unarmed survivor showed up and started talking to me in direct while we were both out in the open. i told him to get out of direct and that the city was occupied by a clan, so we might be heard.

the dude kept talking about teaming up and all that, and i started really stressing about my mission and feeling lots of little bandit eyes peering out over the city.

I plugged the guy in the torso with my Lee Enfield and bugged out of Cherno. I forget what exactly he said, but the guy's reaction to his situation made me feel immediately guilty for what I had done.

It wasn't just that I had shot an unarmed player, it was more that I had put weight on the decision (having survived 5 days without a murder or bandit kill) and after measured consideration, put one in his belly and took off down the road.

I regret that I chose to keep going even though I had fully geared myself up and had survived a massive zed wave at the milltary base.

But no I had to keep looking around, and wound up getting shot through the head by a Sniper.

*sigh* e.e
