So zombies are just a nuisance again in 1.7.7.1

R4Z0R49 you need to to increase the damage of zeds to at least 3k for hit now that the only zombies that infect you are the viral ones we only need to care about viral zeds now, the game is to easy again imho you should have given 1.7.7 more time.

I agree, should have given people some time to get used to 1.7.7. It doesn't make sense for the viral zeds to be the only ones that can cause infection, they should have just dropped the chance from all zeds a little.

Its really sad that when things get hard like its supposed to be, i mean thats what separates dayz from other games people cry and moan and the devs immeadiatly tend to it... It happen the same in 1.7.5 patch, sorry to say this but i cant believe how a shitty game like warz has more menacing zombies than dayz.

I agree, should have given people some time to get used to 1.7.7. It doesn't make sense for the viral zeds to be the only ones that can cause infection, they should have just dropped the chance from all zeds a little.

Or ithey sould have only ncreased the antibiotics rate a bit they should have not changed the zeds, they were perfect like they were, it just doesnt makes sense you getting hit a million times by zeds without consequence.

I havent testet the new version yet, but the thing about the former one wasnt that the Zeds were too hard, but that the infection just simply killed you in most cases. I personally wouldve rather wanted to see a non lethal infection until the WIP towards other ways to cure it is done.

how is see it is we have a problem Dayz playerS are split in to 2

1 side wants zombies hard and will accept any bullshit to get it

the other side want zombie to be hard while still being zombies not psychic super humans

if you beleave for a second that people want the game to be easy then you are a fool, that sort of person would not play a game like Dayz

the big problem is it is not possable to get hard zombie that work like zombies in the mod, in the SA they are doing just that but they had to rewright most of the engine to do it

if the modders go 1 way 1/2 the playes moan about the bullshit BUT if they go the other 1/2 moan that its too easy and both sides are right

once 1.7.7 came out everyone went apeshit because it was TOO HARD, now the fix has only been out a day and people are already saying it's too easy?! make up your damn minds!

Sadly it's true though

I played the new update and could stand there in the middle of a street trying to get myself killed to see how strong the zombies were and they took ages to kill me

I liked the 1.7.7 despite the bugs but in this hot fix I have zero fear the zombies and have already seen people going back I the run, loot and ignore zombies mode

All I want if for people to think " that hurt!" When they make a mistake instead of "oh a bitch slap, well I can ignore these guys"

Hmm interesting to see how easy you can lose zombies now. Before hotfix they somehow knew where you went even when they clealrly couldn't see that. I don't say it was a bad thing. It was that way and even harder when I started play DayZ so I'm kind of used to it.

they fixed LOS and some attack checks so that you can evade them more easily and they nerfed them at the same time.. makes no sense

they should revert zombies difficulty back to 1.7.7 but with the fixes to LOS and attacks

yeah at the end big $$$$ FTW, and this is a reason why I most likely stay with Dayz MOD. kids 1 adults/mature 0 :)

And I am sure that dayz mod will be out on Arma3 too just because you can create near perfect atmosphere with all new fog system and light.

Yes, pretty much what I think. The zombies need to be hard and feel authentic/working at the same time. In 1.7.7. the zombies were a threat which was good and they sometimes felt ridiculously bugged/glitched/random, which was bad. The LOS was one of the problems...when you as a freshspawn managed to get 150m between you and the zeds through buildings, fences and robbing under walls, you wanted them to just leave you alone, because you earn that will all your crazy juking. But they just screamed and started to run although you were way out of their viewrange, reach and LOS. Just feels fucking stupid to me to run arround like a maniac with 1 damn viral zombie at your back 15min all through the landscape.

The infection was frustrating, but put the danger back into the game and made it feel much more like a survival adventure....until you got infected. The first times I was running arround with my friends trying to find Antibiotics. Eating, blood bags, whatever, but after serveral deaths the infected in our groups just played the zombie bait for the others and then gave away his equipment to die. Maybe we were just unlucky with the antibiotics, but that wasnt feeling right either. Especially when you got 1-hit infected serveral times right at the start of the game, because a zed was living in the blockhouse you wanted to loot.

All in all the process was goin, and hopefully still does, in the right direction. Just needs some more tweaking with the infection and bugfixes to make the zombies feel more authentic. Doing more damage is one thing that might as well cater to that, but only if they are functioning in an understandable manner.

I thought the 1.7.7 ones were fantastic they just needed some slight tweaks to the infection rate or alternatively antibiotics spawn rates increased. Sigh, I hope we get another hotfix soon to find the balance and don't have to wait months for a major patch.

Completly agree, all they add to do was to up the antibiotic spanw rate a bit, why dumb down all the zombie mechanics again?

I think they just have to accept (the devs that is) that whichever way they go regarding difficulty that some people won't be happy with it. Of course there were some things that needed addressing in the last patch and it looks like they've done that but nerfing things every time people kick up a fuss isn't the way to go about it IMO. People need time to adjust and develop new gameplay styles before major changes are made.

If Dean listened to all of the criticism about how "DayZ is too infuriatingly hard" when he first launched the mod we wouldn't be where we are today. Having said that I think Razor and co. are doing an awesome job in an almost impossible situation so kudos to them for keeping the mod alive.

isnt the infection ment to be cured only when lucky?

i mean - if it was easy tu cure -how would chernarus have become overrun?

its good that you have to struggle if infected and only suvive if realy lucky to find antis...

that makes people act carefully and dont run into herds of infected or major citys like they where unbeatable.

now its easy-peasy PVP-Fragfest again...

Devs, sorry, BIG FAIL on that hotfix! Tooked the apocalypse out of the aopcalypse...

make it unforgiving again please!

all other changes and fixes are well done and thanks for the work.

cant wait for 1.7.7.2 to get the apocalypse back :)

Lol, yeh, it must be the most annoying job in gaming.

I did just read that there's a bug in the hotfix so maybe I've been too hasty and they haven't been nerfed, time will tell.
