Are you 100% sure it's DayZ related and not just a dodgy connection?

I highly doubt it has anything to with DayZ, it wouldnt make to much sense if it did. Make sure you have the tv screen set up correctly on the computer side.

It probably has to do with the resolution or refresh rate. Try going for a lower resolution and setting it to 60Hz. If it works, go up until it stops working again.

I meant the settings in game, not in Windows! If it's only DayZ that won't work then it probably are the Arma settings that are off. :)

Let me guess. You've never played ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead before?

I used to have that problem a lot. It happens when the resolution of your game is one that your monitor does not support. Be it a wrong aspect ratio, a resolution too small, or too big. So changing your resolution to the same one as your screen resolution will fix it. Optionally you might want to run the game in a window so you can change the resolution in-game.

but how do i fix the screen resolution if i cannot get into the game?

Have a look in 'My Documents' for a folder name ArmA 2 - inside there you will have 2 files named 'ArmA2.cfg' and ArmA2OA.cfg' open them with any text editor (notpad, wordpad etc) and change the following values (change to suit your screen resolution and refresh rate).

Resolution_W=1280;

Resolution_H=1024;

refresh=75;

Make a backup just incase you made a mistake :) Good luck

* EDIT *

Changed to quote tags as code looks ugly

Hello there

Im also playing on a telly I got free, while it's lovely very often when installing a game I will have issues like this.

Unless (as in Arma's case) there is a way to manually set the resolution I dont know how one would solve this.

Ive been lucky so far :)

Please learn to read the full post before asking questions. I answer a lot of problems in several places (Including the Steam discussion pages for ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead and ARMA 2: DayZ Mod.) and it gets very dull, very quick when someone asks something that was answered already.
