Hi everyone, I don't know if what im going to tell is news for everyone, but it was for me. Me and my cousin play on server that on the morning is low pop and about midnight it starts to get low on pop too. We sometimes play at those hours to farm a little gear, I found some hackers and reported on the website of the clan that runs it. Today I was about to go in when my cousin says to me to not enter because there were two hackers online that killed him. He respawns and they teleport to him saying sorry, and offering him some gear, my cousin then starts to talk with them, and they tell him practically everything. They got banned two times, they been hacking for almost 3 months, but bans are no problem for them because the website where they bought ( yes, bought!) the cheats sells cd keys for about 2 dollars... So they go to low pop servers spawn whatever gear they like and then go to high pop servers to have some fun, they use cheats like teleporting on those servers but they try not draw too much attention or too be too obvious. I knew hacking is a big problem of this game, but these guys able to do it so easy and get away with it its too much, this game as been out for more than a year. I know "go private servers etc" but those have admins that most of the time do worse.

Good private hives DO exist, you will just have to do some research (whitelisted are the best). But boy o boy I can't wait for the hacker free SA first months

When I first started to play Day Z me and my mate found a box full of weapons in the middle of electro, we started getting tooled up thinking 'I thought getting weapons was supposed to be hard in this game?!'. Anyway like a genie in a bloody lamp this guy appears out of nowhere so we light him up but he was using God mode or something. He then goes on this rather long sales pitch about his websites hacks that will give the same thing...a new CD key if you get banned. How do you fight that?

Anyway we dropped the hacked kit and reported him but he's probably still out there!

Now you know where all the keys go that get stolen :( sold for next to nothing to be used and abused again.

It's peoples own fault when they get stolen, they either want the scripts and get caught using them or they're dumb and think some magic .exe will make the game run better  Ignorance is not an excuse, all the ones that come begging for help have only registerd after getting into trouble, join before and you get a heads up and almost all questions answered by the community :)

This is why, whenever I've banned someone, or anyone I know from my clan that has banned someone just clicks the "Ban IP" button.

I think DayZ Standalone should have a clause in the Terms of Use stating that if you hack you owe the dev team $1,000,000

Unfortunately this is quite easy to get around... Hopefully SA will have a "Ban MAC address" or "Ban Account" setup. I'm hoping for the latter.

Ie. Buy SA, setup online account ( like MMOs) and all data is saved against your account :)

Heh pretty sure that's next to impossible, and they could just spoof it.

Yes it is, but it strongly discourages hackers, and it's a lot more effective then banning GUIDs.

Unfortunately this problem cannot be solved in A2/OA, which is incredibly frustrating for me as well. However, Steam integration in ArmA 3 and DayZ will finally stop these scamming schemes (via account binding and no more cd-keys) and so global bans will actually be effective.

Note that hardware (including MAC) bans wouldn't change anything either, as 99% of all cheaters these days use private hacks that would bypass such a feature immediately.

Not really hot news but still unbelievable. There are these smart guys who pay real money for ruining, in the first step, their own game experience ! The challenge and fun of the game is to scavenge, having fun finding good and rare loot, for surviving. And these guys do accomplish the mission within minutes, well done idiots.

The funny thing is they don't even realise it.
