How to roll back from 1.7.1.2 to previous version

Ok, so Rocket or whoever removed the link for the previous versions of the dayzmod, however the files are still on the server. You can access them via the link below or by going to the download server, clicking on the link for latest, and replacing "latest" in your browser bar with "old":

Before people start complaining that this isn't working. You will need Weapons 1.2 in addition to the 1.7.1.1 code file if you're reverting back from 1.7.1.2 as detailed here:

yeah everything should be in there, it is the same site that was there before they removed the link so all the original files are on that site. Rocket or whoever just removed the link to it from the download page.

which version did you try downloading? Are you using a steam version? Did you try other servers? (small chance that the server reverted from 1.7.1.2 and did something wrong). If anyone else reverted and are encountering errors let me know, might have listed something wrong. pretty sure i got it right though.

IMO I think its something to do with the six launcher/updater I figured at the very least I could use six launcher/updater and it would update my files and I could play 1.7.1.2 with the crashing bug as I had earlier.

Hm. . . Are you able to navigate to the @dayz folder? you should be extracting the files into the addons folder inside the @dayz folder. The first time I did it, the program i used to extract the .rar's put them in a folder with the same name as the .rar. Make sure only indiviual files are in the addon folder.

have you tried deleting the entire @dayz folder and starting from scratch? Download the version you want, and use the directions from this site for manual installation of non-steam arma 2: http://dayzwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=How_to_install_DayZ

I'm sure that the forum mods are well aware of this threads existence and if they disaproved of it they would have locked and deleted it a while ago. Atm however the dev team seems to be sleeping and the only published version is severely unstable. All the links provided are from the official site, just their official link was removed, I have simply organized it and made it easier to read. Once the dev team wakes up and puts out a new stable hotfix this thread will likely be locked since it would be no longer needed and it will be up to Rocket and his team to determine whether or not to keep the download links running.

Yep, I just got done deleting the folder and starting from scratch and still nada. Then I uninstalled the six updater and removed the six updater config files at uninstall when asked, then reinstalled, it did give me a different output this time upon startup it said update as it had when I first installed and needed to update, but soon as I got in game, boom same message.

Dont worry bout it, ill figure it out eventually, thx for the help though. Best of luck to anyone else in similiar situation.

Not that I would use them.

There are so many elements that need to come together for the "game" (data base, hive, server build) to work that it is counter productive to progress...imho.

Cool. Since this got stickied I guess I'll keep it updated then. Although I'm not sure if Rocket is updating the "old" mirror folder anymore since the files required for 1.7.1.2 and 1.7.1.3 have just been deleted. Although that could just be because those builds were really really fubar.

Does anyone know if Rocket is still maintaining the old file folder? I can understand the reasoning for not doing so. You'd want players testing the latest version, and having previous versions keep some people from doing so and there is less confusion as to what version everyone should be using. Similarly however, if a previous, more stable version isn't kept on record, players and servers might not want to test the latest builds the moment they are released since there is the worry that, like 1.7.1.2, it would be severely unstable and they wouldn't be able to revert.
