Crooked Admins!?!? Say it aint so...

this is just venting I guess...

So I have been building my character as one does, and as the days wear on I notice that I have found a decent stash of stuff.. about 3 Urals worth of stuff...

So I start using everything that I have to help out anyone that needs it.... it got raided as they often do and I started rebuilding... no problem. Dont get attached to your stuff right?

This time around there was an admin (didnt know they were an admin at the time) asking about my urals and I said I had started rebuilding and I would help out if I could...

So, once again, 4 urals packed up between two bases, and it would have been some pretty helpful stuff for people...I come back from dinner 45 min later and the place I logged out from and the main base had been obliterated... so in 45 min a server with no more than 6 people found 3 hueys, destroyed 2 bases crashed them in my base and took my stuff? really?

I told my friend well, thats just the way it goes sometimes... and he brought up a good point... who crashes 2 hueys, for 2 Urals and disables a huey at our base for half empty trucks?

as we are talking amongst ourselves the admin pops on and says well, "thats what happens.. buddy", people get raided you shouldn't be building bases.. and raids just happen, I was fine with that, until I realized this admin was the guy asking about the urals...

Im saying this because I thought the WHOLE point was to survive and build up, and the occasional raid is going to happen, but not within minutes of logging off..

I would give a rats ass if it was a legit raid... I get it... It happens... , but an admin raid almost as frustrating as being hacker insta-killed haha...

So, at this point Im looking for a server that the admin is on the up and up...

If they are all like this, then I will just hold off and hope the stand alone isnt like this,

I personally don't care what players do, but have seen camps with 6 or more vehicles raided and destroyed along with an enourmous amount of gear. The player that made the camp usually comes back in a fit of rage.

haha, well, thats just it, there is a group of about six of us, so we have four urals between the lot of us and we help newer newbies out...

My point is.. is that im not mad that I got raided.. again.. I was just pretty upset that it was a blatant abuse of admin power.. let the ants build their sand hills... let the game play out..raids happen.. and I will say it again.. dont get used to your stuff.. we give most of it away anyway.. I was just venting and will most likely find my way to the Balotabuddies server...

Sounds to me like someone needs to find a new server lol.

Unfortunately there is a trade off on choosing servers. Private servers run the risk of abusive admins. Public servers run a much higher risk of hackers.

Take it from someone who is paranoid about admin abuse and watches admins actions very closely (and they know it). Worst part is I trust my admins and still paranoid rofl.

Just type: '#beclient GUID' into chat in-game for your GUID.

There's a video explaining it in great detail. If you want a good server, BB is fun. If you "don't have the time" then you can't really complain about abusive admins.

About two weeks ago I found a base with 4 cars and another hidden a little bit away. I blew them all up.

About a week ago I found a base that had 3 cars and a heli. I blew up all 3 of the cars and crashed the heli, I meant to steal the heli but crashed it instead, it was a windy day.

Don't get attached to vehicles and gear. Some people get their kicks out of ruining your day.

The continuous horror stories I hear about admins abusing their power. There needs to be an aptitude test before becoming a game server admin I think. It seems a lot of them are asshats that have no clue on how to run a proper game server. Either that or they think they're holier than thou and can do whatever they please to anyone.

They definitely need to have the brain to grasp the concept of being fair to their player base not just doing things, just because they can. *sigh*

Pisses me off, because these so called "admins" give the rest of us decent admins a bad rap.

Fortunately servers such as that never last long. They end up dieing, and admins have nice little tea parties spawning gear for theirselves until they close the server.

I am sorry for your experiences, Campaign Junkie. You are, however, the richer for having experienced this. You have had a first-hand peek behind the curtain.

3 clicks is all it takes for an admin to find out anything on the server.

2 clicks to make sure you are no longer unconscious and bleeding out when rejoining the server, or to fill your backpack with anything.

1 click to change your Alive state from 0 to 1.

Why do admins need to get involved with that? your supposed to be able to play dayZ anyway you like so long as your not cheating. I think thats a shit deal. Dont play there.

fortunately they arent all bad, but seeing as how I video all of our adventures, I am surprised he would do that, pretty much slitting his own servers throat, unless, that is, someone enjoys being harrassed by admin..

Hey mate,

you are more than welcome to join our server any time you like. We have 6-7 active clans on all the time that would be happy to start absorbing new players. Plus we are on all the time even if not in game i am admining. We keep on top of the server and on top of hackers. We like to make new people welcome and so feel free to come check us out and have a chat. My code only affects players wanting to take part so anyone else can still play the game completely unaffected. LOADS OF STUFF AND PEOPLE MATE. PUBLIC MUMBLE. I as the admin genuinely dont care how you play so long as your not hacking. we dont particulary like people shooting unarmed players but we dont need to stop it as the clans get involved with bambi killers and hunt them :) so i like that our server is self regulating
