Who exactly are they, and what makes them special? Can anybody give me specific details about the server? Like, spawning items, day cycle, custom loot, etc?

To sum it up BB is a gaming community, mainly focused around DayZ. There's AUS, UK, and US servers. TBH I haven't played in a while so you'll have to ask someone else for the details of the settings on each server.

A few of us mods either admin, moderate or help with the tech stuff over there so we like to think that reassures players that the admin positions won't be abused. Like I say, I've not visited in a while too busy :( )but the servers are great and the community is awesome, loads of friendly guys and gals willing to help you out whenever you need it and some badass bandits too.

On a more serious note, Balota Buddies is a private community of servers (UK, US, AU) and they are very well administrated and whitelisted to the point where there re pretty much 0 hackers on the servers - most of the staff are prominent DayZ forum members and Forum Moderators.

There are multiple servers, some vanilla, some custom - the custom servers have a few extra buildings added (In sensible places) that help balance the game out a little (Such as a Supermarket in Kamenka) - there are also custom loot tables which remove some of the bugged weapons (Rocket Launcher, etc) and add in a few other balanced weapons.

A great group of servers with a decent community if you want to join.

Check out the forums here: http://balotabuddies...<br /><br />If you jump on the TeamSpeak server and get whitelisted you can talk to some of the players online and see what server you want to join.

The AU server is probably our pure vanilla server, and it has the most players out of all of our servers most of the time. It does have a day/night cycle. No extra vehicles what so ever.

The US server is the more PvP based server, with a couple of extra barracks at the NE and NW airfields. It does have a few more hueys than normal [although I think I've crashed a lot of them]; a total of 94 vehicles all up. It has, at times, around 30 or so players on, depending upon the time in which you play.

Currently our loot tables are all vanilla.

It's just so that if an incident involving you happens, or we need to contact everyone easily regarding updates or necessary information, it helps a lot.

You don't have to talk to everyone, you can just sit in the AFK room with your headphones, mic and everything muted ;P

I can't really recommend any other private hive. I've tried out many other private hives in the last month but I haven't enjoyed any as much as I have BB.

I just wish my IRL friends didn't get so pissed off when they got killed and leave. Now I've been trying to convince them to return for the last month or two.
