Tips for raiding North West Airfield??

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, was just wondering if anyone had any favourite paths for raiding North West Airfield, or any good overwatch positions of it. I generally just prone through the forests nearby at night time and raid the barracks, but am wondering if there is a better strategy. Apologies in advance if there is already a thread on this, but I couldn't see any when I did a search.

Don't aggro zombies, watch for snipers, keep moving, have help. I stalked some guy at NWAF today, he was hiding in the forest and I saw him disconnect (zombies disappeared). A couple minutes later he jumped back in and looted the barracks, then ran along the hangars looking for loot and disconnected again. Next time he logged in I shot him a few times and stole his DMR, he was totally loot focused.

There's not too much you can do to prevent unseen ghillie snipers taking you out, there's always gonna be that risk. Just hope no one's camping it.

get in and out as fast as you can without drawing too much attention.

I find the NWAF a total waste of time these days, I just go for heli crash sites. The risk vs reward just isn't worth it! I'll take you heli crash hunting one day if you fancy it, you'll get much better gear :0) and its a lot easier spotting them from the air ;0)

Agreed, the only reason I went there was to kill people. I get most all my gear from deer stands or other players. ^_^

he was totally loot focused.

That can be me sometimes but lady luck has so far presented me with what I can only describe as snipers who couldn't hit a barn door and who clearly need the practice.

Tend to avoid the airfields though unless I have a decent vehicle.

Drive in with an ATV like a maniac carrying only a hatchet! Agro all the zombies, drive near the forests, drive over snipers, loot everyone of them, take the DMR and shoot down the huey, go walking from the crash and explosions carrying only a Makarov PM.

Pretty much what others have said, stay in cover as long as possible and be quick about it. I wouldn't bother looking through the hangers, especially the northern ones since you're far too exposed for the possible reward you'll be getting. Same with ATC tower, far too exposed, hard to get to without aggro, and too damn hard to even enter. I usually just hit both Barracks and the firehouse when I go, unless I know for sure no one else is there (empty server).

I just run into the barrack, loot, and run out. No fks givebn. Nobody expects you to do that :D

Just to add to what people have said above, make sure you approach from a wooded area, don't run across the airfield to get to the barracks.

Don't go there!!!

The best way of not being killed :)

If you want military loot, I always go Stary Sobar (is that how its spelt?) to the military tents on the north edge. Hardly see anyone there, any snipers are likley to be on the hill to the north either in the wood or hiding behind the cars up there.

If you come in from the top north west corner you can usually get the jump on a lot of snipers who hang out up there. Or move in on a low populated server then try other servers from a good vantage point.

Run to the middle of the airfield, set up a tent and campfire, then wait.

Someone might come over and give you gear free of charge!
