  1. 1. DayZ on Arma 3: would you participate in an official fundraising campaign?

Hey everybody,

I just saw

today on IGN, regarding the standalone version of Dayz. Don't get me wrong because there's no disrespect here and i still like the mod.

It getting old. Even if the animations will be better. Arma 3 is fluid and the animations are just great. So there we go.

I'd like to see some kind of fundraising campaign, perhaps on Kickstarter if it's possible. DayZ is unique. The Rocket's team deserve to be paid and it would be a pleasure to participate. I don't want to give them $10 and that's it. I want to see a minimum of 75 000 fans giving $10 each to make it happen soon. To show some support and gratitude too.

I'm out of nowhere so relax, my english isn't flawless.

Please leave your comment!

Rocket wont make the Mod for Arma 3. Just wait for the standalone there you pay some moneyz and you'll have fluent animations and some new Stuff.

If you want to help the Developers of the game buy the supporter edition. They are no longer unpaid, they work for BIS.

Do you mean DayZ on Arma 3 done by a separate group or done by rocket?

what

Yes so, as i said, DayZ is something unique, a unique experience that you can't find anywhere else. A mod made by Rocket. I'd like to pay him for a DayZ mod on Arma 3.

Arma 2 and Arma 3 are not even in the same league, just try the new controls, the new gameplay experience.

Today with Kickstarter, everything become possible and i think it's awesome. IMHO, as soon as you try Arma 3, you don't really want to play with Arma 2 no more.

Rocket isn't going to split his time and work both on an ArmA 3 mod and the standalone, that's why the current mod was handed over to the community in the first place. If a DayZ or similar mod is made for ArmA 3 it will come from the community and it would be free. There really is no point fundraising for this.

Of course i would not give my money to an unknown developer, but Rocket did exactly what we are looking for, a pure survival and with something like Kickstarter, everything become possible :). Thanks for your answer.

Since my frames per second are struggling on the actual engine, i'm looking for some better gameplay experience when it's possible.

I think it is inevitable that some kind of DayZ will be modded - i just dont think Rocket will have anything to do with it since his focus is the SA.

But the community may port it over.

Let's just call it the DayZ engine, it has some things taken from ArmA 3, some from ArmA 2, some from Take on Helicopters and some built entirely from scratch. TOH was what they used as the base. Fundamentally the engine is very different from the ArmA engine now though.

Well, the engine being used for the standalone, is the same game engine being used for Arma 3. Also, you could not have possibly watched the whole Devblog, because Rocket had stated that the animations for the zombies in the video, are to be replaced with newer ones, as are the models themselves.

Very interesting. I saw the devblog where they redo the zombies animations. I can't wait and I really hope my fps will never goes under 30 (like in every games you know) and i'm looking for some realism with doors. Like in real life when i got chased by zombies, doors can helps.

Okay how about a fundraiser for cloning an army of Rockets with the purpose of infiltrating EA and Activision, obviously we'll have to develop the clones over 30 years, sending them on survival exercises to Malaysia and encourage them to take up wake-boarding, rollerblading or whatever extreme sport that made Rocket the man he is today. Shit... since we're already breeding an army, instead of a second game, maybe we should just infiltrate the NZ army and air force, conquer Australia and socialize their their wildlife and force them to sell their PC games at half price?

You sure?

Ever seen a zombie movie?

Don't ever lean against a door, wall or boarded up window, while trying to impress all the hot survivor chicks.

You are right, in movies, but in a real-life situation, zombies takes around 10 seconds to destroy a door, so it allows me some critical time to eat beans. Anyways in 10 seconds, i cannot impress a lot of survivor chicks so

No offence OP but I think you need to read this in full before starting any more campaigns: http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/

The game you're asking for is already being made.

Ok.

In fact, the objective here is to be able to play DayZ over 30 fps steady. That's my point but as i see, you guys are well informed that the engine will be something new, almost made from scratch. I'm just looking for the best gameplay experience so giving some of my money to achieve that sounds positive to me.

thanks for the infos
