Military NPCs

Recommended Posts

How about as a form of endgame content to be raided by experienced groups we could have military NPCs that have gone rogue. For example, the remains of a the garrison that was based at the NWA holed up somewhere in a base with a load of gear, they could be attacked and raided by a well organised group of players. Or even the occasional NPC controlled helicopter could fly across the north of the map, crash sites have to come from somewhere after all.

The vast majority of players do not want to see NPCs in DayZ.

NPCs break immersion because NPCs are usually dumb. The only reason zombies don't break immersion is because they're zombies, and they're supposed to be dumb.

Rocket has said he is against npc's in SA but there is a chance he may add them.

Also you might want to search for a thread like this already, plenty of them.

One of the things i asked Rocket many moons ago was the chance of an NPC overflight very randomly as an immersiony type thing, he said he wanted anything along those lines to be player driven. Besides the zeds i am pretty much against any combat ground troop type npc action.

Anything that has the ability to fire back at me in this game will hopefully only ever be another player.

An Easter Egg NPC'd be funny, in my opinion. Like a guy named Frank who's like insane and pretends to be a zombie and just walks around the map speaking gibberish, but the gibberish'd be funny so we could have some dramatic irony/tragic relief in the game.

The interesting part with Dayz is that that when you see a survivors/bandit/hero, you know that there is an actual person controlling that character. The whole charm with Dayz is to know that whenever you see a human character, its not an npc, but a player with an unlimited amount of possible interactions. To have NPC´s roam around would kill that kind of high adrenalin kick you get each time you see another player in my opinion, so I hope that NPC´s will stay clear of the SA.

I wouldn't mind be it would need to VERY VERY VERY rare. And I think it would be better if its just a military Huey that fly s over once and a while. Shoots zombies and players. *We are all infected. We just don't know it yet!*

I like the idea of occasional air attacks. VERY RARE as harley said. And maybe the occasional NPC bandit or something... idk

You can always raid well equipped players, it's pretty much the same :)

NPC's = WarZ.

The only npcs in warz are zombies. Stop using warz as a excuse for everything. Look in the graveyard. Notice all the warz threads there.

I don't like warz either but for the love of god don't turn these forums into a "cod vs bf" flame war.
