liquidmind 320 Posted March 4, 2013 Some people tend to forget that not all people think that zombies are easy. it takes a while until they are boring. Most older players here started, when there was less useless KoS going on as it is now, so they had enough time to get to know the game. Many new players come to servers, not knowing what the game is about, and get shot 10 times before even finding any good loot whatsoever.I don't see why anyone would not understand why they have the wish to get into the game without being shot in the back all the time.If you know chernarus, and can read the zombies, you know all the good loot-spots. It's completely different.I also started on a friendly-server, played there for 2-3 weeks and we tried primarily to avoid groups and learn to raid towns without getting killed by zombies. When it got boring that the admin-friends had all the good gear and all the cars, we switched to another server. But I wouldn't have wanted to start on one of the more active servers that are on nowadays. I wouldn't have liked the game much.
svenbreakfast 231 Posted March 4, 2013 It's a "sandbox" game. People are going to play in different ways for different reasons. At the end of the day it comes down to how much fun you get out of the experience, and that's entirely subjective. So, there is a group of players who don't like to fight other players. Okay. Not like there aren't a lot of servers to choose from.
Zombie Jesus 723 Posted March 4, 2013 (edited) I don't play on PvE servers. But I can see the attraction.PvE servers say that you can walk up to someone and converse with them. Try that with any player on a non-pvp server. Enjoy respawning. It's more about the community on PvE servers. And guess what? The CoD-faggots don't play on PvE servers because they can't l33t qu1cksc0p3 zombies.Problem is the CoD @#%$%$#@ do jump on. The one time I played on a PvE server I was killed by a chopper that I could have brought down with a M107. They admitted they were just gearing up for PvP and could care less if they were banned. Also it has been almost a year, can we stop blaming CoD for everything yet? I hate the game as much as the next hipster elitist, but it does not cause HIV cancer so give that played out reference a rest. DemonGroover 8836 Posted March 4, 2013 Like a few others i am not really that interested in PvE servers as i actually enjoy player interaction, even if death can swiftly follow. For me, if you take away the threat of a player the game loses something greatly. Some players enjoy the exploration aspect of DayZ though and aren't too keen on the PvP that can eventuate. Or more simply the Kos attitude some players have.I do understand the attraction of non PvP for some and if there comes a point where zombies are a real threat i may even enjoy a game or two myself.
