Remove the PAPI lights from the NWAF

Recommended Posts

I don't know if this has been suggested before, but it just popped into my head that it's odd when you're walking around the NWAF at night and then suddenly you are blinded by the mysteriously still-powered PAPI lights, ie the four white/red lights at the end of the runway.

Just a small thing, but turn them off. Would keep the whole 'no power grid' thing going.

my cents: no electricity -> turn them off; electricity -> off, but can be turned on by players.

But just imagining how fucked you'd feel, if you looted the Airfield, and suddenly all the lights went on... beautiful...

Not to mention, that it's a very neat way for a sniper to get himself some NVGs. Blinding other players isn't done enough these days :-D

I agree, those things have annoyed me so much.

Yep they should be gone.

Also something that i havent checked for a while is the vending machine in the Cherno hotel - at nightime it used to have power and be a bright beacon of light.

Just a thought (not saying I disagree with the OP, by the way), but would a military airfield not have some kind of UPS system for system-critical stuff (which I would assume PAPI lights are)? Of course, there would be a limited lifespan issue, but just offering an alternative thought.

my idea as in my infamous thread about "unlocking content" stated. find and try to get these UPS system back to work so you have electricity back at your disposal, this could literally unlock much much new gaming content

They only last for about 1000 hours, or 42 days, and I highly doubt that a place such as Chernarus would have any of those new-fangled solar ones that have started appearing.

u cant turn them off. u can only delete them. but ya thats good i guess.

I'm sure there's something in the map editor that would allow us to get rid of them (as in Visitor or something).
