What is Your Gaming Setup?

Recommended Posts

What is the setup that you use to play on DayZ? What hardware have you had the best luck with, etc.

I personally have the following

i7 960 OC to 3.8 ghz

MSi Big Bang XPower mobo

G-Skill RAM (pretty generic, running at 1600mhz)

GTX 295 (pretty aged at this point, have a GTX 680 Classified coming next week)

1 TB Samsung SpinPoint HDD

Plays DayZ/ ARMA 2 on Max, but with no AA or postprocessing, with medium shadows, at a pretty constant 60fps playing at 1680 x 1050

So, what hardware are you guys running?

3960X at 4.8 along with two 580s, FPS drops as low as 30-40 in some cases.

At 6000x1080 I don't consider it playable since drops go down to 20-30, hopefully the standalone will improve that.

I play on a 24-inch edge to edge glass Dell S2440l at 1080p. I have an Alienware X51, the i5-2320 model, upgraded to a EVGA GTX 660ti 2gb card. Laptop is always sitting on the side of my desk with the DayZ DB map on it. I have a phone close by for the DayZ app, too lol. It's fun, I really wanna find the space for triple monitors sometime though. I often turn my lights off for immersion. I use the Turtle Beach X12 for a headset, but just got a new one yesterday and haven't tried it out yet.

I play at 1920x1080 at medium and high shadows and modded config files with my GT 545. Haven't had the time to test out my 660ti yet though.

Full specs:

i5-2320 @ 3.3 ghz

EVGA GTX 660Ti SC 2gb

8gb Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM @ 1600Mhz

Seagate Barracuda 1tb HDD (7200rpm)

Intel H61 Express Chipset (Mini-ITX)

My rig? Ermkay here you go.

Intel core i3 3220

Nvidia Geforce GTX-550

Seagate Barracuda 500gb 7200 rpm hard drive

Asus motherboard

Corsair "enhanced" gaming memory, 6gb

I run the game on mostly low settings, at okay frames. I average 20-35 outside cities, and it can float around 15-20 inside the larger cities. I'm planning on building an entire new PC from the ground up, and my planned build will probably net me high settings.

AMD Phenom II x6 2.8ghz

ASUS M4A83TD EVO

8GB G Skill 1333

Radeon HD 5870 2gb

2TB WD

Sometimes I think I should have gone with Intel but my build still holds up well against modern games.

With Intel HD integrated graphics, 4 GB RAM and a Core i3, this thing is smoking (almost literally when playing for long periods...)

Nice rigs guys. Can anyone attest to significant performance increases over the previous i7 models to the new ones? I'm debating whether I want to upgrade that after I get my GTX 680 Classy in...

AMD FX-6100 @3.9ghz

GTX 560ti @900mhz

8gb 1600mhz

24" 1920x1080 monitor

50-60 in the wilderness, 30ish in cherno. I get 90ish in vanilla arma though.

I'd bump up the speed of my GPU and CPU, but I'll only have this PC for a few more months, and it's too much effort to go into the mid 4's while maintaining stability.

3770k - clocked to 4.75ghz

16gb mushkin blackline frostbyte ram

Asus p8z77 V Deluxe

Crossfire XFX DD 6950 each clocked to 955/1450

120gb OCZ SSD

HDD Storage 17.5TB. Breakdown 4 3TB seagate drives in raid 5, 1TB WD Black, 4.5TB in a couple external drives for backups

Triple Display set up (not eyefinitey, just primary and auxiliary displays) Front and center Samsung syncmaster SA950 27" 120hz 3D (I've got it overclocked to 210HZ but because of the increase from stock 120 I'm assuming the readings are wrong) To my left I have a 24" LG ISP set in portrait mode for some easy editing, And finally to my right I have a 42 inch panasonic viera plasma tv which I use from time to time as primary display in certain games or duplicate screen when showing gameplay.

Mouse G9X call of duty edition (not a fan of call of duty but it came with some random free stuff and was cheaper than the plain model)

Keyboard Logitech G510

HOTAS controls Saitek X52 pro

That's the basic idea of my rig

It's decent and plays everything I can throw at it well enough that I haven't reached my upgrade cycle for the gpu's yet. Next upgrade I think I'll be adding another 16gb of ram, as currently I'm constantly close to full ram usage when heavy computer use.
