What would you do if this happened to you?

Me and my friend were playing on Lingor Island for the first time on a server that looked decent had cool people and was setup the way we like. I spawned near Villa Oscura my friend spawned near Calamar. He battled his way out of Calamar found a tube frame small pickup truck, I scavenged the nearby villages for food and got into a few small skirmishes at a helicopter crash-site. After me and my friend both felt comfortable with our gear we decided to Rendezvous. We met up near Los Peligron at the fuel station, We looted the barracks and military offices nearby and we heard a vehicle... Our truck was parked under the lean-to at the fuel pump and we had an abundance of ammo with some pretty nice assault rifles and silenced Sub-Machineguns. We dropped back into the fuel station and setup an ambush assuming the vehicle we heard over the hill in the distance was comming in for a fuel stop. We waited about 25 minutes for this slow sounding vehicle to show up it got closer and closer extremely slowly we were quite confused. Suddenly the vehicle emerged into the ambush site, It was an armored vehicle/tank... I'm not sure what kind it was but we both unloaded over 200 rounds each into it and we hit it with a grenade... It ran us both over and never even fired a single round. So after us both putting in about four hours each into this server as legitimate players we were killed by a pretty much indestructable vehicle... So we blew up side chat trying to figure out if the guy scripted it in as a hacker or what. The Owner/Admin spawned four of them into the map upon request to a few select players. I wasn't that mad about what happened, but in DAYZ having that vehicle means the end game what is the point? I feel like dayz, being a survival game should be a challenge and being a server owner/admin you should give people a challenging experience not throw armored vehicles/tanks into the server especially when there is only four of them and 30+ people. After everyone knew the tanks were there the population of the server dropped to about 10 and i am guessing those were the people that were using the armored vehicles. I myself decided to never go on that server again, but what would you have done and what is your opinion of this situation/experience. Well that's one argument for not having tanks or armoured vehicles. On the other hand if th admin allow this sort of thing, then it is their call if they pay the bills.

Your right however, this takes so much from DayZ there is no point, you may as well load up Arma 2 and play with every vehicle there is (It is a good thing to Play Arma 2 as it has some great learning curves)

understandable if it was a BDRM or something, they have wheels that you can pop and when it's moving 2 shield/covers lift up and make the crew vulnerable to gunfire. Though by the sound of things it was a treaded vehicle which isn't really fair since there's no anti tank weapons in dayz anymore. I wouldn't change servers just hunt one down and follow it until the owners leave, then yoink

I'd just leave and find a better server, if the Admin spawns shit for his friends, what else is he gonna do? Asshole could probably even get you a global ban by saying YOU hacked the vehicle and modding his logs to submit to BE.

I lost a good server once because of an asshat admin, this one asshole shot me when I went to help him then started bragging about his AS50 TWS, everyone asked how he got that and said 'heh, its good to be friends with the admin' which was followed literally a second later by Banned by Admin (only made the server better in my opinion). Then a couple days later, someone who was made an admin less than 12 hours prior had unbanned the douche bag and gave some piss ass excuse about 'hes my buddy, he said once he dies he wont pick the gun back up again, dont be butthurt bro'

Im on Balota Buddies now, might be full of bandits and snipers but at least I don't have to worry about hackers or 'players with perks'.

The BRDM still isn't fair. I had a BRDM in Wasteland, without any ammo, and it could blow up vehicles by ramming them on the highways. One guy survived the crash and started firing at me while I tried to run him over, no damage to me or the BRDM.

The BTR-40 (unarmed) would be the only armoured vehicle I would consider non-op in DayZ.

agreed, though if you spray bullets into the front windows of the bdrm the driver and gunner should probably die so it's not as bad as a bmp or something with total protection.

i'd do nothing, since nothing can be done. i doubt the server admin would listen if you told him that it's too over-powered. Private Hive owners just do whatever they want, as other's have suggested, find another server. the the most action you can take.
