willifer 2 Posted February 15, 2013 A friend and I are making a new DayZ server. I am currently map editing in some new buildings. Pokey (DayZ) 103 Posted February 15, 2013 Maybe I'm just a purist, but I only like Vanilla servers: No added weapons, vehicles, buildings, a proper day/night cycle (no full moon every night or, especially, 24/7 day), vanilla starting equipment.If I want a different flavour I play DayZ+ quite a lot, and dabble in 2017 (I think 2017 is pretty guff, though). 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Though most people prefer to have it day only, I think that day only detracts from the experience but the numbers talk. Night = servers get empty (unfortunately). I personally find the new zombies to be a PITA since the update when confronting them at nighttime since without a full moon you have to go around with a flashlight. If you are lucky you can find/spawn with flares I guess. (But really full moon might make some people satisfied at night. I personally dont mind either way)A decent anti-cheat script to stop try stopping hackers. A whitelist would be good too but maybe only after a few days(or a week) of being online depending on the number of people you have active (and you would need to stay on top of all whitelist applications.)No overpowered custom gear to be looted.My prefered starting gear;MatchesWaterbottleHunting Knife1 BandagePatrol PackFlashlight1 FlaresNo crosshairs or waypoints on the map.Cant think of anything else off the top of my head..
