Off the top of my head I think it was something like 60-90 MB per hour...?

I'm not sure on the exact figures but the mission file alone is 8MB and most games need at least a 256kb/s download rate to play well. so what you should consider is how expensive mobile internet is in your country and how stable/fast it is.

Im pretty sure it uses the whole of the internet

Im on BT Infinity at around 35mb. Never had any problems with lag and i often stream myself a soundtrack in the background while running. When my dad kicks up a torrent though i am instantly BE kicked for 1000 ping +

im only on BT unlimited at about 5-6mb at the best of times.

2 desktops playing games, my GF's laptop and she's always streaming her Manga, multiple phones connected and an xbox 360. Somehow i play with about 35 ping on our UK server and about 130 on our US.

Somewhat, amazed at how many assholes are responding to the OP.

* Maybe he ain't a tech savy individual.

To the OP.

* I would personally suggest getting over 3mbps.

- While I had 3mbps, DayZ had some serious desync issues.

- While for other games, I had no issue.

Try around 6 - 8 mbps.

My friend has pay as you go internet, so he likes to keep an eye on how much variuous programs and games use. I think he said DayZ uses around 400kb/s, which is quite a lot.

1mb = 1,000kbps.

Personally, I use At&t.

* And of course, they don't give the max amount of bandwidth you pay for.

- Might just be me, don't know.

But when I was paying for 3mbs, I was getting about 330 kbps.

- Of course I've got a better service.

- So in a way of saying, getting something better than 300 kbps, lol.

Wait where is the mbps gone to? And that still doesnt account for the amount of internet used.

Could you maybe explain a bit more in detail?

Ah fuck this:

Usually your ISP provides you with a number in K(ilo), which in turns stands for 1000. They omit the actual phyiscal quantity which would be B(its).

In order to break it down to a value you can work with you would divide that by 8 (1Byte = 8Bits).

So a 16000K internet connection offers 2000K(ilo)B(ytes) of bandwith which is roughly(!) 2M(ega)B(ytes)/s(econd).

I say roughly because MB != MiB.

You don't use internet, you transfer data. If you're trolling, you aren't doing a very good job. :S
