Whitelist Servers

Hey, so I took an extended sabbatical from DayZ for like a billion years (5 mo), and the biggest change to wrap my head around is the complete collapse of public servers. Used to be hundreds of unlocked/vanilla/nonwhitelisted/correct-version-of-DayZ servers; now: not so much. I'm looking for a list of whitelist servers that also run vanilla DayZ (Chernarus) and are US-limited (ideally closer to the Pacific coast, I've got buddies in Hawaii). Is there some sort of place I can see a listing of explicitly whitelisted servers?

Yes, I could probably accomplish this by filters in DayZ Commander and searching server names but that's stupid--most people on whitelist servers enjoy them, so here's your chance for some proselytizing. I want the (*gulps*) DayZ community's input on good whitelist servers that meet the aforementioned conditions. Any and all input is welcome. Thanks for your time.

But I'll elaborate further on why I'm asking for help, in hopes of dissuading further posts like that. In DayZCommander, I have no way of differentiating whitelist servers from each other. All I can see is whether they run the current version and server population (which, while the latter can be used as a yardstick, is no guarantee of server utility). I'm assuming I'll be able to find their forum by searching the name of that server on the internet, but that's no sure thing. Moreover if anything is going to be over-the-top-supportive, it's going to be the website of a whitelist server. I'm not looking for blindly supportive, I'm looking for input. They can't all be great--that's silly to even think about, that every server meets your goals/expectations.

I also can't look and see how my buddy in Hawaii is going to ping. Just because I have a great connection doesn't mean he will (and the difference between our pings can be startling--only 10-20 in some servers, well over 100 in others).

So let's not be dicks about this, right? Can you help a guy out?

To OP: It is unfortunate that the official collapse of Public servers has finally happened, but for the sake of the safety of players, private and white-listed hives allowed for a more fluid and peaceful game-play (one that I am not too big of a fan of).

I would suggest the Balota Buddies, but since you are looking for Vanilla servers, I wish you luck on your journey.

Appreciate the offer, but my buddy in Hawaii is at GMT-11; there's no way he could do a server in the UK. It's literally on the other side of the world. Thanks for the input, all the same!

I looked into Balota, but it again seemed to be UK-based. If I'm looking for a 'vanilla' DayZ experience (that is, no extra vehicles/starting with weapons/extra help), is that hard to find on whitelist servers? I'm still trying to get my bearings here, but is it par for the course that all whitelist servers are also private (note: I know nothing about server admin stuff, so while a private hub may be required for a whitelist to operate, I wouldn't know that)? And following that, are all whitelist servers modified to some degree off the original DayZ mod?

Seriously appreciate the input, it's difficult to ask about this stuff without coming across as a complete noob, when in reality i've logged over 150 hours playing this game[inb4 WATCH OUT WE GOT A BADASS OVER HERE].

Hey man I would try Billy Mays Remeberence Foundation (BMRF). They have a couple different servers and the community is a great one. Never have hacker issues and there are a lot of other squads. One downside for you maybe would be that it's not vanilla dayZ. They have added buildings to most of the towns but you kind of need it when the server has a maxed population so often. Also its US based. Hope this helps.

Botswana is actually "literally on the other side of the world" from hawaii. The UK is closer to being the other side of the world from NZ.

Hi Udak.

You could come over to BMRF, it's not entirely vanilla (few extra buildings, no as50, that kind of thing.) but it's US based and is really well administrated.

Dear Udak, I'm Forest one of the 6 active admins on Trauma Server we are a fairly new community trying to build our numbers and would really appreciate your traffic.

We are hosting out of Seattle right now, very little to no lag for us here on the pacific coast.

However I read you were looking for normal amount of vehicles, sadly for you this isn't the case.

We have spent hours upon hours of establishing our vision of this zombie apocalypse, we believe if something like this were to happen there would be a large amount of cars etc. But uniquely we have placed them in realistic places buses at bus stops, trucks in drive ways.

We have also added custom buildings, we made it seem as if the Army was retreating to the north and setting up bases a long the way.

I understand if this isn't what your looking for and if that's the case, best of luck in your search.

Balotabuddies.net is not uk based- was actually Australian initially.

We've several Whitelisted Servers in each of us, uk and au.

I'm pacific NW US, on bad Internet and get 90ms to us, 200 to uk, and 300 to au. All very playable.

All sorts of flavors of dayz, and one of the best communities you'll find. Every player is in our dedicated TS server.
