If you think using the island 12km off the shore as a base is a good idea.

Don't do it, if you logout there it takes you back to the coast. I'm currently on a voyage in a boat at 14km an hour, do the Maths.... I don't know if it's even possible.

I guess it can be good if you're stranded there, as the Respawn button was taking out.

.

1) Get in your boat, make sure you have plenty of fuel and food.

2) open the map, Mark a Waypoint in the direction of Island

3) Find a rubber on your desk, cut it in pieces and put it on the "forward" Key. Then lay an empty and heavy object on the rubber+keyboard (My fav is a glass)

And you're done , you have your Homemade Autopilot !

Enjoy your Nav, take into consideration deviation.

Leave to the kitchen and prepare yourself some hot and chunky muffins"

Or you can hold 'W' open up the steam overlay then let go of 'W', close steam overlay and there you have the same thing but without having to ruin a perfectly good rubber.

Haven't got the patience for fishing boats, but imo having the PBX is more precious than a chopper.

Or you could hold down the W key like a man.

Seriously, texting while driving is a serious offense in DayZ...

You can just switch to the back seat of a boat while holding w and it won't stop. Just don't accidentally eject.

You guys do mean an eraser don't you? Otherwise it is a massive waste. Not to mention will leave your keyboard all slimey...

Nono, I think they mean actually a rubber - better sava than sorry! And you get used to a slimey keyboard. At least it won't get pregnant. :P

I once spawned in the sea, near a boat. But the boat had no fuel, thank the makers they fixed that glitch.

Any group who has a "secret" base so far out deserves to lose everything, Cowards.

Well that depends if your rubber is lubricated, but if one side it you can just lick it clean.

I mean

wat

I'm not weird.

Mission accomplished. I got the chopper back, and promptly crashed it that night. Success in my book! Thanks lads.

We did this once, setup tents, had a chopper, and even attempted to park a car on the back of fishing boat to carry it over which went incredibly bad. All spawed on the coast the next morning anyway.

Lesson learnt.

If I find a chopper then I usually go to the island and there is usually a clans base just sitting on the island.

Nice try bro.

* That small island is the debug area.

It's technically where you 1st spawn and your then teleported to the beach.
