Public character finally died, day 164.

Recommended Posts

My public hive player lived to the grand old age of 132 days. L85, camo, NVG'S, GPS, rangefinders....I was tooled up fully.

I broke my leg on a gate, and being that the NWAF was closest, and me having no morphine, I made my way there. Took me a good 30 mins.

Just as I am nearing the runway, I hear a vehicle. UAZ. It flies past me, only 40 metres or so away. They didn't spot me, lucky. The UAZ stopped outside the hangar nearest the control tower, and three bandits pour out, looking kitted out.

Just then, I spot another survivor making his way from the barracks toward the bandits. They gunned him down mercilessly.

That's it then, I thought. Try and get them before they get me. I could try and hide, but they might see me and kill me anyways. My Rangefinders tell me they are around 700 metres away. One of the bandits breaks away to check out the body of the slain survivor, the other two go into the hangar. I took two shots at the guy while he is looting the body, one hit one miss. He legged it to join his mates.

Then, I see one of them lean out from the hangar, half a second later I was dead. Now, either this guy was an UNBELIEVABLE shot, or something funny was going on.

First off, there's no way they could have seen me when I took the two shots at their mate. They were both inside the hangar. Second, he didn't take any time to range where I was at. He leant out, I didn't hear a shot, and I died. Gutted.

I suspect there may have been fuckery afoot, but I don't even know if such a hack exists. There is always the chance that my killer was just a good shot.

Meh.

Pretty fantastic job if he just peeks around corner and in a few seconds spot you at 700m range and lands his shot on first try.

Sounds to me like cheats, but who knows.

This is why I never play public servers.

My best time was probably 10-20 days. I had a AKS-74 and a heap of food.

Me and my friends where playing and decided to meet up at the NW airfield, and it is almost night-time when we get I got there. I was being chased by a mob of zombies who broke my leg, but they were all gunned down by some unknown friendly, who disappeared very quickly.

For the next 20 minutes we took turns throwing flares and chemlights into the sky into an attemp to find each other. No luck. Easily about 10 flares each we wasted. So we still don't know where we are, so I crawl over to a runway and a fella with UAZ shows up. I am shitting bricks hoping this guy doesn't see me, because I'm right on the edge of his headlights. He get out to look for me and I just keep rolling back and forth. Finally my friend finds the truck and fires at him, but misses. While he's distracted I climb into his truck and drive off. That was freakin' hilarious. Then I pull up in front of the guy who turned out to be the driver and am shot to death.

That was easily the best DayZ experience I've had.

I actually have a character who was 180 days old, at the last count. And its a 'She' - not a he - which shows you how old she is as I can't find a server with female skins still enabled.

Anyway, I played her pretty thouroughly for about 40 days, on the coast first of all, then lone wolfing while running from Kemenka to the NE airfield, where I lived for a while hunting the cows and sheep that frequent the place, and going to the lake to the south for water. Then I took a break for a couple of months, then came back. She was still there.

In that time she's

* Spent time on the coast handing out food, drink and survival supplies to new spawns.

* Got her ass shot up and leg broken in a firefight to a bandit ..... who failed to find her after she hid beneath a fir tree.

* Killed hundreds of zombies

* Walked out from behind a tree to find herself staring down a sniper's rifle. He was using the scope and I was so close I probably blacked it out compeltely - hence my survival.

And lots of other adventures.

I finally made a camp near Berezino military tents and left her there. What with the fragmentation of servers recently, I finally settled on another... But every so often I'll play on a random one and once in a while - up she'll pop: the LAWOE.

I have a 130 day character on the public hive, fully geared (everything)! I have a few murders and a lot of Zombie kills. However, I didn't play most of that time...

Even on whitelisted private hives hacking is rampant; it's just less obvious. You simply move from extreme trolling where the server gets nuked to more subtle ESP hacks and similar, which in the right hands, is equally bad.

I don't get whats so impressive about 164 days... I have a char with 220+ days, AS50, M4SD, M9SD Coyote pack, NVG and rangefinder... Stopped playing on public about 3 months ago...

I have a similar character for the public hives. I don't know how old he is but at least 3 months... I have NVG's, range finders, GPS, DMR and I actually jumped on a played him some yesterday. I had the thermal L85 in my pack that was removed I think. Couldnt equip it.. had to dump it on the ground. Sad. I shot a few people in Electro, I don't usually bandit but I couldnt pass it up. Not much else to do I guess. I have been playing private hives on other maps for the most part, so I just logged in to see what was up. I sucked it up and and almost got killed by a guy with a AKM that I missed on top of the school.... Was lucky not to die. A few minutes later a dude walked into me with a hatchet so I had to shoot him. I finally hit a few guys from range and then logged off.

Playing on day 1. Being 163 days offline. Logging in again at day 164 ... now you have your 164 day chrackter. You dont have to play 164 days...

I'd challenge anyone to kill 815 zombies in 1 day and not be killed on the same day or even find enough ammo to reach that target.

I haven't got past day 30 without hackers killing me. Oh well, it's a lottery unless you are playing on a private hive

Maybe because people dont play dayz to try and survive anymore, no one cares about their character perhaps only when fully geared with high ent kit does it start to matter, even then most people just want to kill other players because let's face it, there's nothing much else to do.

Pretty sad the mod has turned out like this and I hope standalone brings us something more.

My char on the main hive is also that old - mainly I play on priovate hives. I got everything on my char. But I am pretty sure I will get killed also as soon as I log back in. I even had a L85 thermal, but this one was dissapeared. At least I have everything else (Rangefinder, NVGs, AS50, Ghillie etc...)

But I am sorry for your loss.

Well it's no big deal to me really, I was hoping to reach 1000 zombie kills and I'm sure I would have if not for the hacker, I was also aiming to get the humanity up to 5k, that was at 3250.

I dont see myself repeating what I did here, just try to have some fun instead of taking it so seriously now.

It's not impressive, if you're not playing. But I've been playing and keeping me alive for that long time. Not saying, that I've been online every day. But I rescued quite a lot of patients on this character and most of them still are on public hive.

I'm already on day 32 again, and I'm playing every day, surviving atleast 3 scriptkiddie attacks. Your move.

Just caught up on this topic, quite impressive if you played the majority of them days.

I think a lot of the players on this games mentality is to run through elektro or cherno like a headless chicken. So they dont understand the whole survival thing.

Personally I don't know how you managed to only get 1 kill, did you not get slightly bored?

I guess its whatever floats your boat, personally I like to float from city to city, taking out any other bandits and getting up to some banditry myself. Roaming the coast killing new spawn killers. Most i've survived is 9, but I prefer a slightly more action packed approach.

Pub hero at 122 dayz and ended up getting sniped at Stary when i logged in to put some time on him after a week leaving him stranded in a tent. Two minutes after i logged in two helis appeared over top of the tent i was in, full night..no moon, no nvgs..i gave them to a noob on the beach a couple of months back. Long story short i thought fuck it, gonna die eventually might as well be now, had a DMR, M14 and the mighty hatchet. Got sniped from a guy who had parateleported from a chopper and cut me off while the other choppers were herding me. I put a fair bit of time into that char, he was my first hero skin and i sorta wanted him to remain in the ether once standalone came out.

Dude had been teleported in a mass server beach gathering and survived, been shot and knocked out and survived, been wounded at the NW field and in Berezino, fought the mighty door of death in a random farm area, Lost count of the amount of rabbits he had chased down trying to hatchet kill He was a trooper.

A moment of silence for all the dead
