Recommended Posts

Hey i know the standalone is supposedly coming out soon but i feel it still has a month, would arma 2 with wasteland mod and other mp be worth it before and after the standalone comes out if it's very buggy? Also opinions would be nice for the SA release would be helpful

Yes, I play atm arma II unmoded.

Arma II is worth alone.

I had never given the chance arma.

best sandbox ever. learning curve was bearable only by dayz. :P

This is just my opinion but...

Arma II MP is more co-op oriented in my opinion. It simply lacks the security needed to deter the onslaught of hackers in game modes that allow you to ruin hours of others work. Before DayZ I believe Domination was the most popular mode. Warfare pretty much died when idiots rushed to the first aircraft build and destroyed the other base before even bothering to take more than a few towns.

Except nobody that i've seen actually uses any kind of team work.

Unless your in a private clan like Shacktac and stuff.

In Wasteland there's usually teamwork if you're on Opfor or Blufor, or even as Independents with Group Management. It depends who's on the server. On the rare servers with Teamspeak (I'm looking at you, Ultimate-RP) there is almost no help (even deliberate hindrance) from team members if you are not on the Teamspeak, but if you are on the Teamspeak it's very cooperative. Teamspeak servers aren't the norm in that game mode though.

Arma II is definitely worth it...

sure ARMA2 worth it.

try it with mods like JSRS, balstcore_visuals etc and play Domination, Patrol Ops 2, Wasteland game mods

here is tons of cool stuff for free : http://www.armaholic.com/index.php

after ama2 it is very hard for me to go back to some others games I played a lot before like BF2/BF3/COD - they seems like made for kids or girls :)

Do you think people will continue to play the mod after the sa is released? Especially if the sa is very buggy?

I think the standalone will be less buggy than the mod. :S

But yes, I think some people will continue to play the mod.

I'll probably play the mod until my character experiences a most unfortunate death. After that, I'll probably just stick to the Arma campaigns and go to the standalone for my zombie fix.

This Group Management you speak of is it an in game feature or just trying to keep track of your fellow independent team mates your self?

Alot of people are expecting bugs with the standalone, but not me if its taking the dayz dev team to release the standalone alot longer after it was expected as rocket said it had to be out before the end of 2012 but it still isnt out, and for that reason and that reason alone i think it will hardly have any bugs. Im hoping that the standalone will be worth the wait!

But yea arma2 is worth it, the multiplayer is good, i also love the editor, but still arma2 combined operations is good, extra vehicles etc.

I see what your saying but the main reason I think it was extended is because of the major architecture changes, meaning they had to start a lot of things from scratch. Here's hoping though :)

Ummmm game will be released as alpha. Alpha and hardly any bugs in the same sentence don't mix very well.

And what comes to Arma 2 it's worth it. Finding good communities/servers and mods is the key. Knowing good community and you can get in over 100 players organized PVP or big CoOp matches and those are things that you can't experience so well in any other game.
