What is Your First Instinctive Reaction When Spotting a Player?

I never really encounter any players as I am always wandering through the woods, but on the off chance that I do, I'd try to make friends.

If I see a player:

First my heart starts pumping like hell - I never experienced this kind of reaction in a FPS.

If the player is geared with more than a handgun, he is considered as an enemy and I will kill him.

If the player has no weapon (handguns and hatchets are considered as "no weapon") I stay hidden and let him go.

I do not care if someone has a bandit or hero skin. I am the sniper of my squad, so I am normally marked as a bandit and I do not kill players just for fun (That is what I do in Wasteland ^^). I have already seen hero skins who are acting like real bandits. If they kill someone they fix up their humanity by giving a lot of blood transfusions to their friends.

I'm beginning to look forward to the daily Demon thread. I wake up wondering what the topic will be about today.

I usually just find a place to wait out at, and watch what they are up to. If they're just looting, then I'll usually just leave them.

If I have a silenced weapon, or I'm a distance away, it's always fun to kill a zombie that's after him, and watch how they react.

Out in the woods: Take cover and observe.

In towns: Shoot on sight if player has a gun. Move towards me with an axe equipped and you're getting shot.

It depends on the situation:

wilderness:

I normally let unarmed players join me if they want, expect they try to lure Zs to me or look at me funny after they found an axe.

If both of us are armed I try to avoid them, or try to get into a good postition if they have something worth taking and shoot them.

If I am traveling the countryside and a car is approaching on the road, I hide. I don't shoot at driving cars, it takes way too long to find new carwheels -.-

city:

I don't go into cities where Zs already spawned, I observe and try to spot the survivor, except for elekto or cherno, there are always Zs in elektro and cherno.

If I run into someone around a corner I will greed him full auto.

Always:

Shoot those towelhead Bandits in the face. (even with those "rules" I don't shoot enough people to become a towelhead myself^^)

But it always heavily depends on the situation and my mood, if I am alone or in a group etc. (short notice: screaming FRIENDLY FRIENDLY over the voice chat won't help ever)

Its mainly depending on what gear the other player has since most geared up players will shoot on sight I normally will try and make contact before I shoot. Being friendly has got me killed on several occassions (dudes with hatchets hacking me in the back while Im trying to cover them, etc.). But I'm still a firm believer of friendly play.. unfortunately not every1 feels the same way and do kill me cause I normally have a decent (visible) weapon and a camo/ghillie suit.

When I spawn fresh Im always friendly since you dont have anything to lose anyway... I like to run around in Elektro/Cherno screaming Geronimooooooooooooo down the mic :D Even when I dont have a weapon people still get scared for some reason :)

Play the "ghosting" game. (Not to be confused with ghosting between servers) Try and get as close as possible to them without them noticing, you win by taking things out of their backpack and getting away undetected. Bonus points if you manage to give them a ninja bloodbag.

I swear this is the truth.

I once went afk and when I got back I had been given food and blood by someone, I thought it was a glitch until I saw some legs sticking out of the same bush I was hiding in, had a great day with the player, It was a single most point where I realised other players aren't all assholes.

It was even better he got his Hero skin while playing with me after helping another player as I was spotting him for safety. I felt like i had just had another baby. (Not that i have had any babies myself)

If I see the new player first, then I hide and assess how much of a threat he is. Assuming he isnt wearing the bandit skin then I will try to be friendly. Depending on how much gear I have compared to him. When I approach the player, I will tell them to bring out their side arm and face away from me. I will proceed to chat with the player and go from there. At that point I either end up shooting them because they tried to kill me, or give them something they need.

If they are unarmed, I will not kill them but watch them until they are too far away to be any real danger.

If they are armed but don't see me, I immediately try to become hidden and watch them to see if they are to be determined a threat. If so, shoot. If not, let them pass.

If they are armed and see me (more importantly, if their gun begins to point at me), I will shoot.

All of this while fighting through cardiac arrest.

If he hasn't seen me take cover and see what his play is. I will let you go unless you shoot an unarmed player or are clearly a bandit. If he sees me and doesn't shoot then I will keep an eye on you ans try to make contact. If you shoot I will not hesitate to kill you!

I jump in the nearest bush and try to figure them out. I generally play friendly so It may lead to me trying to make contact, usually though they just move on unaware of my prescence.

I observe from a safe distance or from prone then move on once they've passed by. I still haven't killed another player and I've been killed only once, in the hosp in Electro or maybe Cherno I'm still kinda new here. I have cursed myself...

Heavily armed and running towards me, il take the shot if i can. If he has something like a pistol, or even heavily armed as long as he is not running towards me il leave him alone. But if he spotts me il run to cover and wait

Well considering Ive met a whopping 4 people, and a chopper so far and 2 of the encounters have gone the same way,

When I meet another character.....I usually ask "what the hell just happened?", as i bleed out and respawn.

The other time, I saw the guy advancing on me with his axe, I was weaponless, so I asked if he intended to use that axe on me. He laughed we talked for a bit and went our seperate ways.

The other times, I hide like a little forest creature in a bush. So I guess hide, talk, or die. ;)

The first time I saw a hostile player I was in Stary.

He popped up out of a bush and I sort of just froze. Don't know why lol I just stared at him for a couple of seconds and then he shot me.
