so here some ideas:

- In each town , major or small , across the map their will be radio stations which are connected to a megaphone,players could make statements or ask for help with walkie-talkie which will

be a collectable item in the world , the statements will be fixed and will be announced across the map 3 times each time you choose an option , anti spammer will be able to limit the amount of statements each player can use per certain amount of time .

- a network of walkie-talkies that can be created by groups who find walkie-talkie and synch with each other.

I'm inclined to say that every player should have a radio that tunes to various frequencies.

The common frequencies would essentially be side chat. The big difference is that you would only get side chat if you tuned to it.

The only way to tune to simultaneously multiple channels would be to acquire a second radio. ACRE style.

It would be pretty funny to have megaphones or LRADs in-game. There would probably be people playing "Call Me Maybe" on loop over Elektro, though. I like the radio idea, that would allow players to group up more easily, too, especially for people who don't have Teamspeak. Side chat in DayZ = Global chat, because every single person is on BLUFOR.

choppers nead megaphones so when me and my mates are rolling in a Huey we can play the apocalypse now soundtrack and people could hear us from further away (not enough range on direct chat for this objective).
