Toybasher 27 Posted January 8, 2013 My brother used to be a Beta Tester for Activision, actually. He tested Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer. He told me beta testing can seriously be a real pain in the rear, because he dislikes sports games. He told me he had to play something he basicly hated for hours a day for a few months. His name is in the credits actually. (Frank Mosca)Anyways I'd love to be a beta tester, though. I did some closed beta testing of WarThunder, LoadOut, and World Of Warplanes. (Frustratingly for WoWP and WT I didn't get accepted, and only got in by a beta key giveaway.) I had alot of fun with the betas, and brought up any bugs on the beta forums with the dev's. Still I've had experience and know what to expect during testing and would love the chance to test the Stand Alone just because I want to try and find any bugs or errors so I can report them to a developer to get it fixed before it's released to the general public.I'd also pay for the Stand Alone when it comes out, don't think it's right that all testers get to get it for free, less profits for the makers of DayZ - profits which they deserve. mzltv 2281 Posted January 8, 2013 I don't know why people are shitting their pants over the fact that they're not involved in the architecture UAT...I was contact back at the start of December regarding it, and the fact they've announced that the "closed testing is imminent", and the fact they've outrightly announced it, would (to me) indicate they've got all the numbers for testing sorted.I'm sure the YouTube sensations will be streaming all they do (assuming that doesn't conflict with the Non-Disclosure Agreement). Most of his DayZ episodes are probably staged but I haven't still ever seen any actual proof that he is cheating. I have really enjoeyd his videos with jackfrags and those are most HQ let's play entertainment currently in YouTube for me :) Anyway, this is little off-topic so back to topic. Closed invitation only I say. The point of a test is to give feedback and most people, probably including you, are only asking because you are impatient. Lots of like minded people behaving in exactly the manner the designers expect and according the the rules, respecting the responsibility they've been given.
