What do you have YOUR visibility at?

Recommended Posts

Just as the title says, what do you set your visibility at?

Do you set it high? Maybe you have a high end computer and your maxing your settings, or perhaps your a sniper/spotter trying to get the killer advantage?

Maybe your PC just cant handle that much and you have set it low?

Personally, I had it on 10,000. I am now going to create a Youtube series and am optimizing by settings a bit more so as to get a more stable FPS whilst recording (writes the file between 18/26, trying to hit a stable 30). Lowered to 5,000 for now?

Can you even see further than 2,000 or so on DayZ? So many hills!

I was under the impression that draw distance/visibility was fixed and that adjusting it in the game menu did nothing for the mod.

I always have mine on max because I haven't noticed a frame difference from the lowest to the highest.

I think its server side fixed at 1600m I usually have it @ 2000m just in case.

It doesn't matter what your visibility is set to, cause in DayZ it's automatically set to around 1000. You can't change that

In addition to visibility being fixed in Dayz, I also think some of the other graphic settings are controlled server-side too. For instance, terrain and object detail seem to be fixed at 'normal' or 'high' so that everyone sees more-or-less the same rendering (slight differences in graphics cards not withstanding). Some servers may not force these settings, but the ones I play on seem to.
