ado4334 1 Posted January 3, 2013 So i have an HP pavilion slimline with w7, and ecently i have been getting weird errors, which id need to be addressed beforei considred buying arma 2and getting the mod.1: flash player. Any aplication such as youtube that uses flash player doesn't work for me. I go onto a vido, and it say click here to download latest version of flashplayer, i download it and still it says i hgavent got flash installed I uninstalled and reinstalled, still same problem. I used to bypass this by using chrome - let me view vids, but now it loads the pagewitht he video, 2 seconds later another loadng sign and it white screens.2: Dogey downloads. I tried to download the FREE version of arma 2 (off the proper website), i do everything correcty, type product key, it installs, and at the final bit where it should complete it says it hasn't installed properly, and i type into start menu 'arma' nothing comes up so it hasnt downloaded. My pc isn't particularly old and idk what the problem is. I tried using different mirrors, all fail to install properly. If anyone can give me suggestions how to solve these problems i would be VERY grateful. Please very simple language (computer wise) as i am not good at all with pcs.In general my pc seems laggy, have to wait afew seconds before i can press 'search' on google, and stuff like that. I have norton anti virus and i update my pc so i dont really know what it could be.PC specs ( from 'Can you run it')CPU: You Have: AMD Athlon™ II X4 620 ProcessorCPU speed: You Have: 2.6 GHzRAM:You Have: 2.6 GHzOS:You Have: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bitvIDEO CARD: You Have: GeForce G210

OrLoK 16186 Posted January 3, 2013 Hello thereTo be honest this is quite a hard task. Your best bet is to find a PC troubleshooting forum and ask them to assist you with your issues so that you can come back with a "fixed" machine. To get your PC fully sorted is a little out of the remit of these forums.RgdsLoK
bigdogsco 143 Posted January 3, 2013 Man there's so many things this could be its not even funny. Don't put all your faith in Norton either BTW. Even a fully functional AV can't protect you from everything. Only good browsing habits can do that!

Because if that doesn't install properly and i waste £15 i would go mad !

terminal_boy 860 Posted January 3, 2013 Spybot Search & Destroy is my go to remover of bad things. Hasn't let me down in over a decade.Getting back to DayZ, I'm afraid I have some bad news for you...High-end laptops struggle with DayZ due to the CPU intensive nature of the ARMA 2 engine even if they have a good graphics processors on board.Yours is a fairly basic spec one with a very poor GPU and I suspect that DayZ will be unplayable for you. boneboys 7988 Posted January 3, 2013 First things first.Do not cross post, this is your second Topic today concerning your trouble.Ah, trouble, belongs in the Troubleshooting Forum so I will move this to the correct Forum : Troubleshooting. Now, your computer is just about fit to run ArmAII/CO and I mean just (I'm being polite). That is not the problem though, your computer is a mess, Flash Player is a common or garden application that everybody should be able to use without too many problems. So, have you kept up to date your Windows 7 build ?Do you know which Browser you are using by default ?Do you know when these *ecent error's started ?Are your HP drivers up to date, this may include video specific drivers (look constructer site).Get your machine working normally before attempting the task of installing ArmAII free/OA and then DayZ.As others have stated previously there are a lot of things that could be causing your different problems.Off the top of my head, I would suggest (if you know when all this started happening) to do a System Restoration from that date or a short time before. Then check your system for error's / malware and other (bad stuff).Clean your disk using the W7 tool, then, and only then...Free programs recommended by myself to keep your computer healthy...Avast, anti virusCrapCleaner, cleans cookies and more (read attentively the read me file).Malawarebytes, same as above.Just a reminder that this is the DayZ Mod Forums, not your local Mr Fixit shop.Get your computer working as it should and then come back and ask about getting DayZ working.Moved to correct Forum.Good luck. Ive just got more and more junk on my pc slowing it down, you think a system recovery to like a year ago would be appropriate. For example i have many folders which are empty that cannot be deleted etc.Without being polite you can tell me if my pc's settings are rubbish, on a budget of £50-100 what would you suggest id buy to improve my pc's performance as much as possible to run dayz as well as i can (i acknowledge the fact i won't be running it on max settings)

bigdogsco 143 Posted January 3, 2013 What is your ram? What you posted doesn't make sense. HP is notorious for bloatware OE packed with crap you don't need which hogs resources for no good end. If you don't have a windows install disk to do a fresh windows install i would suggest running a program called pcdecrapifier to clean some of it away and then check your startup options by running msconfig and stopping services you don't need
boneboys 7988 Posted January 3, 2013 No problem.Download this (free version) and run the cleaner tool. You will be horrified by how much junk it will sweep.I run it every day at startup.Make a system restore point before using.http://www.piriform.com/ccleanerIt will clean all of your cookies, including the one that allows you to log into these Forums, however this is not a problem, you can save your login cookies by going into Options/Cookies and select those that you wish to save by dragging into the right hand dialog box.Just get your computer up & running before trying to install ArmAII.Good luck.
