Ran into a fire house, a ghillie sniper followed me. I told him friendly, and when he tried to clim up the stairs and shoot me, I kept saying friendly. Had no weapon, but it took him around 5 or 10 seconds to aim for my chest, from 0 range, and shoot. /Facepalm

I was in the school in Elektro. I was unarmed and i heard someone on the top. I decided to say hello and tell him that i am unarmed and friendly. He replies and said that he had a hatched and is friendly too. He asked me if i could give him a bloodtransfusion. I said ok. But first i had to go the hospital to get some blood. He said he will protect me from the zombies when i come back. I did get Blood, ran back to the school and gave him the blood. Behind me were a lot of zombies, so he began to kill them. The second hit was on me, i thought it was a mistake by him. He broke my legs und i was bleeding. After he killed a couple of zombies, he began to hit me again. I asked "why!?" And i yelled at him. And the only thing he said was: "because you are an Idiot".

This has changed my Dayz-life

3 people me and one of my pals I met on a server. We flew over them in a chopper, landed on a hill not to far and ran over to kill them. Well...we did but not before laughing our asses off. One of them fell from him rooftop overwatch and died instantly, the other got swarmed by zombies and decided to fire his enfield, drawing more zed to him, and while my pal was taking the last guy prone by a truck, I looted the truck beside him,and popped him in the head with my AKM. Best part is, they thought it was us that killed them, but we actually convinced them we flew past them in our chopper so we got off scott free and no one was the wiser.

I was running to Cherno from the western road when 3 12 year old sounding British kids yelled, "Stop moving!" and fired a Lee at me. He was the only one with a gun - another had a hatchet, the third was unarmed. I saw the ural they were using and, dodging the Lee shots, jumped in. Rather than leave, I turned around a bit down the road. 2 were standing directly next to each other, and I ran them both over immediately. The Lee guy dodged me, yelled, "Get out of the car!!" and fired. I eventually ran him over, too.

I like how most of this thread is reactions to the stupid people stories and less of the actually stories.

OT: This one time there was this guy offering a free ride for anyone in Cherno, but he was on the completely opposite side from where I was. So with much experience from Left 4 Dead, I navigate my way through the city to the escape with a bunch of zombies behind me. I see him refueling at a gas station and I hop in and then we drive off. He starts to tell me about these other group of survivors who were picking up strangers in Cherno also with their helicopter. As we begin contemplating meeting up with them, we hear complaints and screaming from side chat about this one guy who was driving their heli, and then we hear an explosion.The survivors start crying and such, making threats to the driver while you can hear him laughing. So, me and the guy who picked me up abandon the thought of meeting up with them and drove off our own way.

TL:DR: This group of people in Cherno were too inviting and it cost them their helicopter.

I was once at NWA with my friend looking for people, this redneck from tenessee kept talking over Side Chat with his mic saying he was in the Air Traffic Control Tower. Me and my friend didn't believe him, thinking no one could be so stupid as to say exactly where they were at NWA. So we kept on scouting it out and about 2 hours later he stood up for an unknown reason and another sniper we hadn't even seen popped him in the head. Turns out he had an AS50 with no ammo, but didn't think to go out the back door out of snipers view.

The dumbest thing ever i experianced was with a chopper pilot.

He picked me up and flew me to NW airfield where we tried to turn the chopper and he nose dived into the ground.....

I was once in Stary with a buddy I had recently made. We were walking around, looking for the market. Once we had found it, we saw another player inside. He was equipped with nothing but a Makarov. We figured he couldn't be much of a threat, since I had an M16A4 and my buddy had an AKM.

We told him we were friendly, lowered our weapons, and walked closer to talk. He said he was friendly as well, so we invited him to our group. I turned around for a second, and while my back was turned, the guy shoots me. He missed my head, hitting my arm, making me bleed. My buddy had already shot him up by the time I had turned around.

tl;dr, Some lightly armed dipshit tried to fight two heavily armed people, and paid the price.

He had a GPS among other things, so he wasn't a complete waste of ammo!

Hahaha, some dumbass tried to emulate that, i played along until i landed, then when he refused to get out (eg, starting firing at me via the m240) when i informed him that the jig was up, i promptly mk48'd (that i now hereby christen the mak fo-tay eit) his ass out of the gunners seat. Hey, just cuz i'm a medic don't mean i'm a puss. ;)

I had just spawned in Cherno. I only had an M1911 and was heading out of town. Suddenly I hear some guy start shooting at me from over a hundred meters away with a Winchester. I started weaving around and taunting him via my mic. This made him mad and he started chasing me. He didn't land a single shot and eventually ran out of ammo. He started to run like the coward he was for shooting someone in the back like that. I decided to return the favour and shot him several times with the M1911. I heard his leg break and he passed out only to start getting eaten by the zombies he had attracted with his shots. I started to taunt him again over my mic but he ALT-F4d. I didn't bother to wait until he logged back in as he was screwed anyway.

Another was today when I was feeling a little bit giddy. I was running around unarmed and saw some guy crouching in a town with a Winchester. I ran up behind him and started screaming crazy shit and gibberish via the mic. I think he shit his pants as he turned around and popped a couple shots off and completely missed me. He then stood up and ran. The poor guy ran until he was out of view without looking back It made me laugh so hard.

I have countless stories of DayZ dafness but I'll go with my most recent fail. I parked my heli in my usual sneaky hard to get to spot and when I logged back in found this had somehow happened :o

Then to make matters much worse I stupidly got into the gunner seat (as you can see in the pic) and my only option was to switch gun seats or eject. I ejected and broke my legs. I had no morphine so decided to log out until my mates were on. Well while I was logged out the heli exploded and took the castle with it (probably someone decided to use it as target practice) and when I logged in I fell to my death and my body was unreachable. Oh well :D

I was playing on a takistan server once, was in a town when suddenly I hear a car approach, he tried to run me over, so a the last second I ducked into an alley, he broke his tire and sat there for 5 minutes trying to back up, I loled a little bit then put him out of his idiocy with my AK Kobra. XD
