Let7ing 0 Posted December 31, 2012 Hey, i wondered if there was any age limit for DayZ?? It would be nice if someone could help me answear this. :)L7
TomKesi 25 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) Well, in order to play DayZ you have to purchase Arma 2 (with Arrowhead), which has PEGI 18+ ...As for the DayZ Mod itself, i'm not aware of any age restriction, but it's pretty obvious from all the pictures and videos you might see. :)Hope it helped. BwobBwub 660 Posted December 31, 2012 DayZ requires Arma 2: Combined Operation what is an 18.DayZ is a mod so it doesn't really have an age limit.DayZ SA will more than likely have one.
TomKesi 25 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) Yeah. A proper game - IMHO - must have some sort of a rating (and/or age restriction), so it can be sold to people (i think the distributors want to have it this way). The mod is for free (nobody is selling it to anybody), so no rating (age restriction) required or needed. AmberHelios 2071 Posted December 31, 2012 because arma has the pegi rating stating 18, anything built on that engine and assets inherits the pegi rating, if a someone makes a complaint as to no pegi for the mod itself ie mother is horrified that her kid is playing such a game they will step in and put pegi rating on to the mod and enforce it.

The cost of the mod is the game ARMA. That game has 18+ rated ergo the day mod is rated

That game has 18+ rated ergo the day mod is rated 18You're very wrong. To play DayZ you need to buy Arma. When you make your purchase you have bought Arma and have a fully released game (Arma). DayZ is a free mod for that game that has never advertised or asked for money. If you have decided that you want to play DayZ based on feedback from the gaming industry and or Youtube vids then that is up to you. It doesn't change the fact that what you have purchased is Arma, not DayZ. Edited December 31, 2012 by Fraggle

ThaFatBuddha 21 Posted January 1, 2013 Doesn't really matter about rating since ESRB always state that "online play is never classified". Honestly as long as you be a good contributor to the community then I'm happy

rimlanin 4 Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) There is no age restriction on games in most countries. There is just a parental guideline, that responsible parents are encouraged to follow, in order to provide their kids with age-appropriate content, however, they are not absolute and unbreakable...During our great revolution, half of the people that would later become Central Committee, State Security or even State Council members, were active, fighting, underaged partisans at the time of the struggle. "If you can handle a rifle, and if you hate the fascists", they said, then you can join the Fatherland front. That was for a revolution, however, my sources tell me, that video games are much more dangerous and lethal. Extreme Caution is advised. Remember to wear your safety goggles at all times, hearing protection and put on your cogpiece. The Stoned Wolf 491 Posted January 1, 2013 It's all about what your parents believe you should be playing (which is unfortunate since many parents are so ignorant of ratings that, unless it contains any thing sex-related, they couldn't give less of a fuck). In my personal opinion DayZ it self isn't too violent; there's no dismemberment or ridiculously large puddles of blood, just when you get hit a small spurt of blood comes out and your face gets scrambled up when you die. However since it's online play it's likely you'll come across excessive swearing, possible racism/sexism, and overall immature assholes. In my opinion you shouldn't play this game because squeakers annoy the hell out of me and your parents will probably not approve of stuff said online. TomKesi 25 Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) I am probably wrong, but I've got the feeling, that many of you are assuming, that the guy asking the original question is a child. Think about it for a sec.Do you really think, that kids care about age restriction? :) Edited January 1, 2013 by TomKesi
