TBH all this complaining about the delay and all that bullshit is bullshit. The people complaining about delay and lack of information will be the first people to say that the game lacks 'whatever' in certain areas. I don't care if the SA doesn't come out til mid 2013 as long as the know they got all the potential they could out the game and couldn't make it better. Don't you people have life's or work or education or some other bullshit to worry about rather than complain about the SA.

#1 Look at the last few pages. How many directly state delay as the reason they are disappointed?

#2 In my opinion you lack understanding of what a minecraft model is. A public alpha is just that. SA might be missing features compared to mod at start to test core features in a less cluttered environment. The potential will take all 12 months remaining development time at the very least. Therefore what a delay is good for is internal testing to remove obvious bugs to allow a better testing experience going forward.

#3 This is not about a free mod. It is about a product that we the potential customers are concerned about. There have been far too many projects in the past where silence led to a crappy product with obviously missing features or balance. So yes I am spending part of my off day to voice my concerns about the lack of communication from the team because I want SA to be an amazing experience.

Like many, I don't mind waiting for a game that I expect to be amazing. The only downside is I was wrongfully globally banned from Arma 2 and Battleye support won't reply. I can't even play the mod.

Sad days.

I wont comment on the validity of your global ban. However, Everyone should note that rocket said that SA uses Steam and VAC protection.

Don't attempt to hack in SA (Well obviously not in any game for that matter) VAC bans are Steam account wide and the only time they EVER went back on a ban was an error years ago that was fixed by reloading a previous backup I believe. VAC bans are forever. As many attempted hackers in SA will find out.

Only a few people are moaning about the delay. The rest of us want communication from the team and didn't expect 2012 anyway. So before you go on a rant in the future that matches the utter uselessness oh those saying "FUCK THIS I WANT SA NAO!!!!111" You might want to check the way the topic is going first in my opinion.

The mod above was quoting reddit posts to explain that Rocket was in NZ for the holidays (I guess he is back now) another let it slip that he believes (And to treat it as random talk) that he believes the delay is related to the clusterfuck of WarZ. And the general perception of the genre for the moment. The ones actually complaining about delay are getting nowhere in this topic.

Well you said you read the Posts MOST almost all are talking about the lack of communication after Rockets deadline was missed. You dont make sense Lack of Communication doesnt bother you , then in the same sentence you ask for Communication

Nobody knows, hence the frustration in this thread. It's very out of character for the devs to be this quiet, they have a great track record of communication since DayZ was first made. All we can really do is chill-out and wait.

How can we be sure of that? All we know is someone it atleast working on Github for the mod. Nothing on SA except a troubling note of Rocket and blood pressure.

If the delay means they get more time to fix obvious bugs before SA Public alpha that is good! However what isn't so good is if development has stopped and the time is not being used wisely.

If I call up my boss and said. "My blood pressure is up I can't come in." I figure the response would be, "All this call did was raise my blood pressure. Make sure you are on time for your shift."

Holidays are fine. But last time I checked Twitter is not down for them. There really is no excuse for not saying something in my opinion.

Then where is the word from one of the team? It does not have to be rocket. The CEO or a member of the team could say something. If they have been barred from doing so to cover lack of development that would be wrong in my opinion.

As I have stated many times, if there's a news blackout then there is a reason for it. Also 10-12 days really isn't that long especially over the holidays.

I just think folks are beating themselves into a lather over this.

But nobody is asking for him to update us every day ! We are however asking that HIS missed date ( must be met, not has to. His Words) be acknowledged, dont frigging hide from all your Social Media. It's actually not a huge game. Not in comparison to ARMA III He has been given atleast 12 more months of assured development. ARMA games take far longer to make.

#2 Nobody is asking for updates every day! Just ONE post delay update or even acknowledgment that development continues is all. No screenshots or videos or anything more than a 30 second twitter post.

#3 This is the minecraft model. Suddenly appearing on steam would be STUPID beyond belief. There has to be a campaign to prepare people for the fact that it is public alpha and there will be bugs. Otherwise comparisons with the clusterfuck of WarZ will result.

Holidays isn't an excuse to not even make a Twitter post. Also if you think about it. It makes it worse because the delay had to be known before the holiday started. I'm going to say it. Jumping on the plane without a word or even "Happy Holidays" simply wasn't professional in my opinion. No that isn't saying I won't still buy it. However, I am disappointed by the and continuing conduct. Especially in the wake of the WarZ clusterfuck.

Do we want Rocket to tell us everything he is up to or do we want him to do what he does best? Remember only a year ago he was a normal bloke like you or i. Now he is hounded by the community and Gaming sites on a daily basis.

Perhaps he just needs a breather before the inevitable madness that will ensue once Standalone is released? I am just as eager as the next person as far as a release date but for now the mod keeps me going.

The report button is for use to report things that are against the forum ToS. The request was outside of that. And not a demand. As a mod I would have thought you understood that. The sig is not offensive nor is in need of any mod action. If the user wants to keep the confusing sig despite the request so be it. I only asked after a PM from a person confused about saying rocket was active.

Are you guys going to continually repeat your demands for information for the next 10 or so pages? If so, I'll just stop checking this thread until the inevitable spam of 'new dayz info' threads start slamming the general discussion section, reddit, twitter, facebook, and every gaming site on the web.
