We booted up a new server today, and my buddy was given an extra note while joining. "Hit F3 for menu"

He can spawn vehicles, teleport, the works.

We're not scripters, nor does he have any knowledge of hacking.

Someone F*&^%$ up, but it was an entertaining night lol

Nope. Not at all. I was at the bar with him yesterday. If you were to give him a rating on computer knowledge, as in "how to script" he'd receive a 1.

I love this community and this game. I condemn scripting. He isn't one.

Same thing happened on a server I played on not too long ago. It said "Press F4 for menu", next thing there we're people crashing helicopters all around me. It was an awesome 10min!

Unless you buddy is the admin of that server, or the admin of the server put server controls up for everyone while his head was in his ass, it would seem he would be hacking.

You don't exactly need to know how to script, he can simply be a *script kiddie* who had some "special files" put into his Arma folder up and ready for spawning.

I won't be pointing fingers, but the entire situation seems fishy to me...

The menu is injected by a hacker, just like monkey monitor etc. Pretty sure the server needs to be restarted to remove it. You can't be banned by BattlEye for it unless you are the one that injected it but I wouldn't be surprised if you got admin banned for using it to teleport/spawn things etc regardless.

As tipsy as I may be at the moment, I've been a completely real and enthusiastic poster on this forum.

Maybe I'm being sensitive, but the doubtful posts here are disappointing, though I'm aware of the typical "script kiddies" and "13-year-olds" making threads here.

I'm the opposite of that. I like to think so.

Reminds me of some hackers who gave everyone on a server I was on a special colorful debug menu with a link to their site if you wanted to "buy".

We enocuntered this twice earlier this week on my server. A hacker with a battleye bypass injects this hack into the server and it gives all player in game at that time access to a hacked menu teleports gear spawning ect. Players that log out lose access to the menu from what saw, but for those still in game kept it. Restarting the server is the only to get rid of it fully just like the monkey monitor. First time I had encountered a scripter able to effect all players like that. Thank goodness for automatic backups :D

Some servers do have a debug monitor enabled; just ask on side chat and someone will let you know if it is the norm for that particular server to have that. I will actually have to do some calming when people get online my server today since I just added a debug monitor this morning
