Add NPC bandits

Wouldn't it be cool if there were NPC bandits. I don't know why they didn't even put them in the mod.

We have enough problem with bandit player and now you want to add more enemy that want to kill you for no reason?

First of all, have you ever played ARMA 2? Because I don't think you have.

An AI "bandit" will spot you miles away, and rain hell on you with any weapon they have at hand. Every gun is a scoped sniper to them.

He's got my respect because he actually had the decency to read the stickies and at least some of the rules. Your not supposed to make a list of suggestions like so many noobs do.

I'm gonna have to say no. One of the things that makes DayZ special is that, other than the zombies and random loot spawns, it's completely player driven. Adding NPC bandits would destroy that.

Rocket's said multiple times that without player interaction, this game'd be nothing. It's not even about the zombies.

I thought he said that there will be NPCs in the Standalone.

By NPCs I assume the OP meant bots, not interactable quest giving types. I'd be down for that. The AI aim can seem ridiculous, but I don't recall ever getting hit on the first shot outside of 300 meters in ARMA. It might add quite a lot to the game if you couldn't just take that UAZ, but had to secure it from a gang of AI scavengers. I'd be pretty amped if I was scavenging in a remote town and saw a truckload of crazies pull up guns blazing and start battling zulus while I peeked out the grocery store window.

That would also ameliorate some of that "nothing ever happens outside of Electro/Cherno/North Airbase" phenomenon that some people complain about. Just because there were four people on your server, you could not assume you were alone with Zed and his 40 cousins. I like it.

They just don't fit with the feel of the game. There's no opportunity to interact with an NPC. The only AI in the game should be the zombies. Everything else should be about player interaction.
