I agree with panda, after playing alongside many players for a long time on uk10 I found my dayZ experiance better playing on the whitelist because the amount of hackers dropped immensely, and Daniel is relaxed, no need to tell him that thanks

Dont like the taviana map don't play it. Its quite simple to be honest. Ive yet to play on Panda's server, but (not to cause any arguments here) but the way people are acting on this thread, i will probably be unwilling to do so.

I think everyone needs to take a step back and, you know, let the people who appear to be at the center of focus here sort things out in private (panda and BSM if im not mistaken). A public forum is not the place to do this as all that happens is one side starts acting like children and puts off perspective players.

My guys are just very upset with the thought of their server and home for last 4 months going. I have tried to move people over but it wont happen, not with having to move to a different server which runs on a different map and with no whitelist and lots of hackers. The BSM head admins have made me aware I will be kicked out of BSM if I keep my server, so I have some thinking to do as to what are the best options.

I need to work something out so I can still be part of BSM, and so the guys from UK#10 can keep our safe place to DayZ. I may have a new owner for UK#10, so this maybe something that saves us and prevents UK#10 from dying. Need to see whether this would be acceptable with the BSM head admins first tho. Wouldnt want to be kicked out of BSM and not have UK#10 either, lol :(

But you see panda this is it, I cant understand why they are making you abandon your server that you built up from scratch and the community that loves you so much. (not in a gay way). And im sorry for getting so mad at you brynje but cant you see what im getting at aside from your server being a bit well..... shit no im joking its just abit unstable at the minute but thats not the point. Thought I would put you guys straight on a few things.

This server was created for BSM members and it was occupied by BSM members at the beginning.

Why was this server made? Because we dont just host any game that is flavor of the month, and Hex was told at the time we would consider hosting Dayz in the future.

Then Hex with the help from the BSM community made UK10 and it is what it is.

I dont think hex has been straight with you guys so im going to tell you the whole story.

A couple of months after uk10 was born we had a meeting with Hex about hosting the game on our box, to save him the expense of paying £50 a month we decided to upgrade our server to the latest cpu spec SSD's the works.

I need to point out that this was about 5 MONTHS ago, so hex has had 5 months to break the news to you guys.

So 5 months down the line we at the stage where we wondering why Hex is just announcing this to you guys now.

We wondered why Hex did not follow through on what we discussed, especialy now after 5 months.

Its a bit disturbing that he didnt even mention this to you guys.

Anyway its like this, you have had one of OUR admins for 8 months and we want him back.

If he wants to stick with you guys and run his own community then we wish him and you guys all the best.

However we cant have one of our Admins doing his own thing when we need them to admin our own server(s) we dont just play DayZ ya know.

If hex did want to step down from the BSM Admin group then he would be free to run his own community.

If he did this it would not mean he is not part of our community, it would just mean he has no commitments to admin our servers/forums/community.

Well, well. It seems a few folks are desperately clinging to something they hold dear. I would call that community spirit, panda thinks he just made a server but he made a community. The success of UK10 and its other names before that is all down to Sgt.Hexstatic's (panda) intention. It was created to provide a place for our other BSM admins and regulars to play on. His dedication helped the BSM community through a major dip in interest in BF3. He will always be high in my regard for this.

We, BSM, received donations and some £160 was given to hex (correct me if my numbers are wrong) and this supported the growth of UK10. It got to the point where concern arose that hex was paying from his own pocket for too long and he himself agreed that it was getting too much.

It was soon after agreed that we would provide a DayZ server which hex was pulled upon for advice and guidance to its set up. He was to be the a figure lead with its administration. Unfortunately he never actually committed substantially further than an initial basic set up post.

We shelled out to obtain the highest spec available from our provider and struggled to establish it. For months it sat empty. Still no sign from hex. Even during Teamspeak chats it was still in his mind but still nothing was added further.

What I am saying is that Hexstatic was committing his time to forging his own community, possibly without even knowing it. Maybe even blinded by the hard work he was putting in. Nothing was given by him to the community he is a part of though.

When hex says that he will be kicked out of the community if he keeps UK10 going, what he was actually told is:

"If you cannot commit to BSM then why are you an admin? If you wish to pursue your own interest then we wish you all the best, we know how hard it is to do what you have done. It's not easy getting to where you are now, but if you can't commit to being an admin of our community you will be asked to leave."

Why he is only telling you guys now is beyond me. I can only guess why and I think he actually enjoys the job and doesn't want to lose that. Hex did say he would start the move process three months ago.

As you should read above this is hardly a hitler admin attitude as it was so rudely put and all of the insults are already forgotten. We've been called a lot worse if the nearly 12 years of admining game servers.

Panda, or should I say, Sgt.Hexstatic is not being made to ditch a server. He is not being made to drop UK10 as a community. He is not being told to abandon anyone or anything. He is only being asked to consider his position as an admin of The British Sergeants' Mess.

And to justify the comments about our server (hardware) being shit, as you say so easily, after extensive effort and analysis we now believe we have struck the perfect balance against the inherent issues the map may or may not have. 60 to 40 Slots, reduction in vehicles spawns, adjustment of body disappear rates and changes to back up rates to name a few.

Anyway, the slaughter continues... familiar players are returning time after time and we battle the hackers with no or little disruption to the honest players. It seems we are doing something right, right?

Im enjoying the server, but the sheer amount of times me and others are being spawn killed without even being able to find a weapon is getting ridiculous...

I spawned 3 times last night, and all 3 times, there was someone waiting where you spawn and killing players before they could move...

Add kill messages, so these people are named and shamed, or move back to Chernaurus...

Apparently the kill message issue is with the 1.7.4.4 update. We had it and then it was gone. Are other servers running same versions as us using kill messages?

I had a whole day of doing chopper crash runs in my ambulance and picking up new spawns aroun boye. Even taking everyone way up north to the camps and vehicle hordes.

Then.... In my 5th hour or so I was sniped refuelling in boye by a 107 twonk whilst helping three bambis. A Humvee full of chopper spawn grade weapons grounded. Tut.

I got shot trying to make a dash across the bridge from the west island in my SUV but got sniped as soon as i hit the slip road to the bridge lol. I lost loads including GPS,NVG's Coyote and my beloved SUV :(

DayZ for ya though enit :D I spawned another 3 times in and around Boye and never seen a sole around Sabina. It was only once i'd got out of town that i got shot.

It might be a bitch when you lose ya stuff but what do you do when you have everything? Atleast it gives you chance to get out and mooch more, Get kitted up again ;)

Spawn and bambi killing happens on cherno too. Plus, ive never been shot and killes yet in the starting areas. It's always up north where i die. If you are ALWAYS being killed right after starting, them im afraid its something on your end.

Problem with Chernarus is that you have 45 noobs running around Elektro and Cherno using 1% of the map and 5 players up north. On Taviana it's at least morespread out.. apart from the western island sometimes :P

And I really still don't see the spawnkiller problem. I killed myself twice yesterday (lol) and I had no problem kitting up.

totaly disagree mate. Probably you talking about that time when 50 snipers with ac50 were at Dobryy hill and rest 10 players down in Electro. Now Cherno or Electro are empty (on whitelisted privat servers), sometime I want to shoot bambies but no one there. My mates are specially hopping to public servers to get some shooting practice.
