What conditions have to be met to break your legs?

I was walking around in Novy Sobor and attracted a couple zombies. My blood was green, but I took a hit from a zombie and broke my legs (I had morphine though). What conditions have to met with your character (like, how much blood you have left, for example.) before a zombie can break your legs?

personaly i feel the chance to break a leg is way to common. but its part of the risk of playing.

Dude you can get a broken leg off a tent or a tree if you crawl or walk next to them sometimes. Its random and weird as hell.

If you are getting hit by zombies there is always a chance to get your legs broken no matter how much blood you have.

Also you can break legs from falling down, changing stances near objects, or attempting to move on some objects. Ejecting from a vehicle will always break your legs and doors sometimes break your legs if you are in their path while they open - whilst slamming you on a nearby wall.

it can suck, I was on skalisty island with a friend just before and a zombie came up and 1 hit broke my legs -_- gonna kill myself later and come back to get my stuff

Standing next to a door increases your chances. At least that is my experience.

Another question to ask is: When you have Respawned what % chance is there of the first zombie that attacks you causes bleeding?

In my experience 100% - every single, bloody time!
