I just got nuked a few minutes ago. Not that I'm mad or this is a rant, cause I was expecting it to happen sooner or later. But what fulfillment can you bring yourself from ruining a game for everyone? I could understand why someone would script in items, but killing everyone on a server with a press of a button? It happens every time I settle down on a new server, I just don't get why they do this.

yeah, it's only happened to me a few times, but I would never try to act like hacking isn't a major issue in this game

I think we're at the point where if you have "never been killed by a hacker" than you are the one that is "lucky". as opposed to people that have been killed by a hacker being "unlucky"

sure some people exaggerate about how often it happens to them. but saying it never happens to you doesn't answer the question about why people do hack

From what I've experience it's an endless circle of hacking.

It starts with the hackers who hack to harass other players with godmode, weapon spawning and teleportation.

Then there are the players that get hacks to attempt to combat these 'aggressive hackers' but they end up starting to abuse them themselves.

A few hackers that I've tried to talk to say they do it either because it's fun or because other people do it.

I don't understand it myself, the whole point in putting time into a game is to enjoy it rather than win by cheating, it really can't be fun if you haven't really earned it - nobody will respect you at all.

Sometimes I like to destroy someones work but in legitimate way. Sometimes I like to help. I played with a hacker yesterday, when he commited that hes hacking I blew up his head with fiveteen 5,56x45mm rounds and reported to server admin to ban this ******* ***** which he did:).

I sometimes wonder 20 years down the line the % of these kiddies that will be doing or will have done hard time. I have a gut feeling that the anonymity of the web and all this (anti) social networking is going to have a negative affect on humanity. I think we are already feeling some of the effects.

In a game like this the effect of these kind of hacks is minimal anyway because if you dont embrace the concept of starting from scratch you are in the wrong game.

The majority of hackers have probably picked up the game recently and are getting stomped by people who were playing for months (or just people who are good at video games) and they don't want to invest time to get military equipment so they install hacks to get them.

But the vast majority of them suck at aiming with their AS50's and don't know how to account for bullet drop, zeroing, etc, so they are slim pickins (unless they have god mode).

Most hackers are not afraid of dying if they can just spawn new items (hackers without god mode) so they act more reckless, and are likely more easy to kill.

Most of them do it because they are worse than the average player, and they make excuses for why the do such as ''oh ye everyone does it''.

They are not willing to invest time to reap the true benefits and fun of the game, they don't want to go ''deep'' into the game for some prolonged enjoyment. They will probably just hop onto the next call of duty which is out (today i think, not sure?) because that's the sort of gamers they are, they can't be bothered to stick at one thing and get good at it, they would rather play 100 games and suck at all 100, then get mad and throw spaz attacks online and hack.

I've never been hacked though, teleported once by a bad hacker, but he didnt seem to know how to kill us quickly, so we all ran off, or aborted.

My goal is rarely if ever to insult anyone. If one is insulted by my opinion or asking a question that is their choice. I am stating a thought that i have had for a while now. If they are just kids bored and looking for something to do i get that. I was a kid once to (at least that what i tell my kids) If they get jollies out of ruining peoples fun and strive to make others miserable it "could" be a problem.

The only difference between them and elementary school playground bullies is the fear of people thinking badly of them. They still feed off of other people's negative emotion like bullies do. The only reason they never started beating people up in the first place is because they actually fear having people think badly of them. On the internet, that fear is removed and they are free to cause pain and suffering.

I believe I was only killed by a hacker once, and luckily, I had just spawned on the coast seconds before it happened. I was dropped into the ocean with everyone else in the server. Strangely, I heard bones breaking before death. So I may or may not have hit a rock.

I only laughed, because for a few moments it was completely silent after everyone died, and then there was an explosion of rage all over side channel. xD
