will becoming a hero have BAD conseqeunces?

so i am about 1 blood bag off becoming a hero, which i am going to give to my friend when he comes on, but this is what the wiki says.

"As of 1.7.2.6 Heroes lose all humanity on login. They also briefly flash to the 'debug plains' on login like they are changing skins. This regenerates all partial magazines in their inventory. When logging out, Heroes make a 'falling over dead' motion, which can cause instakills on future logins. Sometimes the hero can 'split' leaving a standing corpse copy of themselves where they login, which is also lootable."

now i defiantly do not want this to happen as i have very valuable gear and very rare weapons, which i defiantly do not want to lose. so are there any current heroes who can tell me if they have experienced any of these issues? it would suck so much if i get killed because i was actually helping out other survivors in the game.

I´m a Hero. Have played for a month with that skin, and logged in/off lots of times.

The only problem I have had is that one day I logged in and I was dead, but this could not be due to the hero skin, because a cheater had shoot me and I had alt+F4 before he hit me, but maybe something weird happened...

if you can live without that 10% of increased speed and the bulletproof vest(9mm) just avoid that skin..

Where did you read this? I've just checked the wiki and cant find any mention of it.

Also, I have to ask...Are you a hacker?

Bandit < Survivor > Hero.

There's both advantages and disadvantages to being either a bandit or a hero. Bugs obviously being among the main issues but how it affects the KoS-mentality is worth remembering also.

If you're attached to your gear, there's no point risking losing it.

:D ah, well as i said i haven't had any of those issues personally,

You might want to put your backpack down before you change to the hero skin though as sometimes changing skins can cause it to be replaced with a standard cayote patrol pack. also a problem with ghillie suits and camo clothing i believe.

As others have said, the hero skin might make you more of a target to those pesky bandits, buts those guys generally dont discriminate against who they shoot at so i wouldnt worry about it.

and survivors might be more inclined to trust you, which is nice.

you can maybe avoid some casual kill by some survivor..bandits don't care about skins,finally i must say that i had those bugs you reported also without the hero skin..apart the falling dead

I was actually having this problem, I reinstalled the arma and dayz patches + put on a camo suit and never had it happen again.

Or you can just jot down the cords where you logged out at (best in a remote area) and lug it to your body.

I haven't played on the central hive since August, but I had a hero skin with some 20k humanity for quite some time and I never ran into any issues. Besides, if you die you'll still have the skin. It's not like it's hard to get gear these days, last I played I literally walked five minutes into the woods and came across three camps loaded with duped/hoarded gear.

The only downside to the hero skin is all the chaffing caused by all the clothes changing.

I've seen standing corpses of all kin of skins, not only survivors.

I've never died due to bugs relating to the hero skin, had it for months.

The only downside is the bright white shirt, but when playing as a hero, you want other friendlies to notice.
