How do you control your DayZ Rage?

Recommended Posts

Right this one is kinda simple. Most of us have been there, just minding our own business and something totally out of the blue goes wrong, que mindless arm flailing and my monitor receiving more abuse than a traffic warden at a race track.

All i am wondering is how do you recover from such a blind rage in the first place, perhaps you walk away? have a smoke or grab a beer? I for one tend to combo all 3 of the above in one manouver to the fridge or just chill back to some music, more beats the better!

So come on share your stress release plans with us all... maybe it may save a monitor in the near future.. who knows?

This being a nice little bouncy tune to listen too (i just imagine me stomping on the bandits head in time to the beat) ahhh bliss!

Certain games anger me. Others do not. For some reason DayZ falls into the latter category. The only temper tantrum I have had is suffering from our persistant internet connection problems and repeatedly getting booted at the most inopportune moments. In terms of the game itself, I'm still playing with a smile on my face. Even when hackers took the only vehicle I have ever owned off me, mere minutes after I had finally fixed it up, I had a wry chuckle and then laughed as they teleported me into some sort of barbed wire Pit of Death and executed me.

Now Battlefield 3.... that's a different matter. Some truly epic, toddler-esque tantrums in that game. Smashing a mouse of keyboard to pieces then going and lying down in a darkened room usually does the trick.

I simply don't rage at a videogame. Its a game, that I play to have fun. Raging, throwing a controller, punching a something or any of that activity is not why I get involved in a videogame. The farthest I might go is to say "aw man, that sucks". And move on to have more fun.

Lastly, and I hate to say this, but you want to use your... you're means you are and its usage in the title of this thread isn't proper English.

Yup, beer, smoke, whale-music-combo for me. If it's too early for a beer I walk my dog.

I never get real angry in DayZ for some reason.

Now, FIFA's a different matter... it's a wonder both my controllers still work.

Too early for a beer?!?!

What is this blasphemy?

On topic, pretty much the same thing. Walk, beer, smoke, more beer.

I've got used to the rage of dayz and it doesn't happen too often. Normally my way to counter by just trying to recover whatever I lost or run into elektro/Cherno and bandit hunt :D

I find it hard to imagine that anyone can get rage when it comes to DayZ. Some games your bound to get a little angry, some games your not. I only find I get angry with fast paced games like your Battlefield's, Call of Duty's, or even as someone else mentioned, games like FIFA or Madden, because it's just constant action and you get caught up in everything.

Games like DayZ, I find are very.. relaxed. There is never much going on at one time, it's usually pretty quiet, and when something does happen, you need to stay on top of things anyway, unless your already dead, but even then you just got to accept that your going to die in this game.

I swear a bit but I just do that naturally, even when just generally talking.

I'm not getting angry after death cause the game begins again and I can explore more instead of derping around with my high geared character.

Every single time I've died in DayZ for whatever reason, I've gone quiet for a couple of minutes as everything sank in. Then I respawn and take another crack at it. The anger usually comes later.

I used to rage a lot when something went wrong, I smashed several keyboards and mouses.

I recently bought a G19 keyboard and RAT 7 mouse, so whenever I smash them, I wont get a new one that quickly as they're expensive.

So now, I just go for a smoke (or two) or I beat up my boyfriend. He seems to enjoy getting beaten up by me for some wierd reason.

This.

I don't even understand why with all the wierd ways to die or get injured (cue floor hacking zeds in temp buildings in Lingor-WTF!).

BF3, my language and rage level is at times worthy of a Viking epic.

Die in DayZ, well, time to do it again, and it's fun that way.

Sometimes it's a race to see how quickly I can gear back up.

Death by buggy doors and entrances, that's the only time I feel rage. When that happens I have to step away for a few hours...

I get tempted to rage sometimes i guess, but then I think of how embarrassingly stupid people look when they do rage and I think better of it xD

I think I do what most people do - Swear and insult profusely until the gender selection screen pops up.

Hmmm well I haven't had big rage moments with DayZ. I only tend to get frustrated and annoyed when I can't lose the zeds of my tail when I don't want / can't take em down. and end up bleeding by one hit, or in other cases.. being tickled a few times and ending up unconcious by one loner zombie while in other cases I get mauled by a pack and nothing major happens. But all in all, the rage meter with DayZ is fairly low.

When I'm playing standard FPS' games I tend to get angry when I'm having a really bad match while I know I can do better so I tend to 'tag' my desk once in while (no wonder the thing is rattling nowadays.) But once in a while I end up slashing up some fruit or water bottles with my katana which is also a great steam valve to get rid of some pressure! I've moved on out of the complete rage zone in the last couple of years however. I remember kicking my little brothers bed partly in half this one time when I completley lost it when I was playing CoD on the Xbox some time ago.. damn I didn't knew I was capable of breaking a hardwood sided bed.

Nowadays I feel really.. REALLY stupid about myself when I think back of those times xD it's just a game.. but heck, the old primal instincts just tend to crawl out of your skin when you're at it.
