    PSU Coil Whine

Well the freezes that occured might've been a coincidence during that time.. but yeah bit too much of a coincidence I thought. in any case, it's certainly bearable now Here's the list of my main hardware; Motherboard: ASrock P67 Pro3 (DDR3 - LGA 1155) CPU: i7-2600 - 3.4 GHz GPU: Asus Geforce 780 GTX PSU: Corsair CX750M (bronze rank) I can't recal the mobo type before this one though, I'd have to take a look at it again for that. (at work now)

    PSU Coil Whine

An update on my current situation; I tested a different GPU on my computer but still experienced coil whine, however, the sound and volumes were different. Also moved my setup over to a new mobo now and finally came up with some positive results! Most of the coil whine is barely present anymore, though it is still there when running demanding games but in a significant lower volume. Perhaps I should test a different brand PSU in the future and see if that'll eliminate the entire issue.

    PSU Coil Whine

I'll admit that I didn't run enough tests before buying the PSU (I already returned the new one to the store for a refund since it doesn't seem to be the problem) But I did end up pinpointing the source and am 100% positive it's comming from the PSU (both the new and old one producing said whine). I tried 3 different games to produce the sound and frankly enough, all the games produced their own unique whine when the game was in a state of rendering and always being the same pattern per said game. So I'm thinking that maybe the GPU is corresponding in a bad way with the PSU or maybe some of the conductors on the mobo are acting up. I guess I'll find out when I try out the borrowed GPU and/or when I move my rig onto the new mobo. PS. It definetly isn't any of the fans producing the sound

    PSU Coil Whine

Well incase the new gpu or mobo offer positive results, I'll post back. But despite people saying coil whine not being harmful.. I'd rather have it quiet. A quiet pc is a healthy pc usually

    PSU Coil Whine

Fellow forumers, Last weekend I was sitting home playing some random game and noticed that there was a subtle annoying humming sound coming from my PC. It got worse when running demanding games and I started looking up what might be the problem. It quickly seemed to be a coil whine issue that was emitting from my PSU. As I didn't feel like waiting for an RMA on my PSU, I bought a new one in a local store, put the thing in my rig and start her up again just to find the same results. Same whine and patterns emitting from the new PSU. Note that next to the whine, I also had my pc freeze up twice after the coil whining started appearing and my speakers started to produce static/crackling when being idle at times. Now I'm wondering if any of you might have a clear idea of what the issue might be here. I'm thinking that it might be the GPU but I'm not sure if it also is producing any of the whining but I am sure that the louder noise comes out of the PSU (this perhaps overwhelming any sounds coming out of the GPU) I also carefully blocked off the fans to see if it came from those but it's definetly an electrical hum. So anyway, I'm going to try out a different GPU tomorrow that someone will bring in at the office for me, and I also ordered a new mobo to fall back on that. I already planned on replacing it anyway so yeah. In any case, I read that coil whine is not a bad thing but considering the 2 random freezes occuring aswell I'm a bit worried that something might be wrong..

    Sightly Disturbing

A sensitive case here it seems. I agree that offensive names can be a bit disdaining but OP seems a bit hateful..! I more or less feel sorry for people that are pedophile rather than have a grudge on them. I remember reading stories about pedophiles committing suicide since they knew it was wrong but just like homosexuality or bisexuality, I believe it can be a case of natural preference, something one cannot control. Don't get me wrong, I think the act of pedophilia is still wrong and dreadful. but wishing a person dead for isn't quite justified

    Graphics Card Problem

Oh boy.. those kind of things. Even with the backlid off it can still circulate the heat inside since there's no two-way airflow in the compartment. But yeah there are fancier ways to cool your PC like water cooling. If you really don't have the option to move the PC elsewhere you may be able to install an extra fan or replace the current one with a better one. You could also, like someone said, remove the side lid of your computer case to give some extra air. Still I'd recommend moving it to a ventilated spot if possible.

    Graphics Card Problem

If the location of your computer is causing overheating/lack of airflow, why not move it elsewhere? I'm not sure what the situation is regarding that though.. so yeah, forgive me if it's stupidly obvious for you that it's not possible to relocate it..

    Let's talk about heavy weapons

Wow, I didn't realize there was such a passionate hate around heavy weapons. While I agree with most of the .. disagreements regarding explosives. Everyone seems to forget that incase there would be a mortar in DayZ for example.. I could imagine the mortar shells being extremeley rare and the mortar itself needing maintenance. Not to mention a mortar source could be loud and sitting ontop of these things leaves you entirely vulnerable to weaponfire from other people. I don't say I agree with the idea being put to life but yeah.. I think the game lacks the ability to intercept vehicles from time to time.. especially choppers. So something like a heavy machine gun could be a good thing to defend your stashes against people that are in possesion of a heli. But yeah stuff like improvised bombs would be nice. IED's or molotovs. However, considering that explosive charges and usual grenades could be put back into the game would leave it a bit of an unnecessary addition.
