I am an actual customer, not one of "the guys". My panthera server has been running with no problems. Loots spawns a plenty, tons of vehicles, im not saying vilayer doesnt have problems, but being that its an alpha game, thats evolving over time, i think they do a pretty damn good job. -
Don't the official DayZ servers reset vehicles monthly? Tents should remain and vehicles return to spawn points. That's what happened on our server.

How about making bandits and heroes basically unable to communicate with each other, help each other, or even coexist with each other. Kinda like Alliance and Horde. Vehicles can't be entered by a hero when a bandit is in it, heroes and bandits can't give each other medical assistance, they can't even look in each other's backpacks unless their dead. The only way a bandit/hero can cooperate with another player is if they're neutral, being below the humanity reset threshhold. -

How long have you played? I have been playing DayZ for a very long time, however; I do not recall precisely how long. I have experience playing in both, solo, large squad, and small squad situations. I have played with end-game level loot, and am able to operate vehicles (including the infamous helicopter) How old are you? I’m 16 years old, and very relaxed/mature. How frequent do you play? Whenever I can, which is most days. I do however become bogged down with real life things at times. What role would you like to play? I generally have experience playing all types of roles, although I am skilled at inter-clan/squad espionage (scout/infiltration). Sniper rifles tend to work well in my hands, but I enjoy close ranged weapons as well. I use whatever I get my hands on: If it’s an as50 or an m16, fine by me. Can you pilot a heli, or drive a vehicle with a decent amount of skill? Yes, I can pilot the heli (quite well); and driving vehicles is not problem for me. Can you navigate the map? Yes, I can get around Chernarus quite easily. Other maps aren't a problem, but I’ll need to use the DB map. What area of the world do you live in? I live in FL, Usa. English is my first and only language. Tell us a bit about yourself. I’m a simple guy who is no stranger to DayZ. I have a lot of experience playing in groups (of all different sizes) and solo. I am a very self-sufficient player, who does not need to rely on others for support; but I am quick to offer my own. Generally I am friendly, outgoing, and always willing to teach less experienced players about the quirks of DayZ. -

I got a question does the save fuel properly and what not about vehicles does that go for Heli's also because we all know that Heli's are a pain in the ass when not fixed and we don't know whats wrong with it. -

Panthera definitely. It is beautiful, has most buildings enterable, and often has a lot of vehicles, including 4-6 types of helicopters and planes. On a server with a lot of vehicles, you can quickly get a nice ride. Of course, there is a balance to this - it is very hard to land planes outside of airfields, and there are few places to stash other vehicles, mainly because of the extremely mountainous terrain. Chernarus is next up - it has everything wonderful. Last is Utes - a great, quick, fun time. -
100+ Vehicle Server, 10 Choppers. + Care Packages (Private Hive)

I think 100 vehicles is far to much, it's way to many for the amount of people playing on the server. Try and make it more balanced - to many vehicles makes dayz pretty boring in the end... you'll learn in the end. -

Friday: Upgraded Server to 98220, AntiHax and BEC. Checked server everything good. Log off. Saturday : Log in no vehicles but had tents. 2 Stop and Starts and 5 restarts still only tents.. Uninstalled 98220 and reinstalled 97448. Still only tents. After some running realized vehicles all respawned :( Had to restart the server after the afternoon scheduled restart for vehicles AND tents to appear. Sunday : Vehicles and Tents reappeared after unscheduled restarts. Monday : Received an email from a repeat player that they are leaving my server because his tents and vehicles are being eatin by the server :(

Loved Fallujah always day 120 Vehicles. Sad to see it go. The Always Day time made it really enjoyable at any time, any timezone.

Six days since the last hive wipe. No vehicles. No aircraft. Loot doesn't spawn when or where it should. Some "rare" loot (like Coyote Backpacks and GPS) spawn so often we consider them trash. Some buildings (like the school-office and the super market) take upwards of 15 minutes to complete a spawn cycle of loot. Zombies don't spawn when or where they should. Sometimes they spawn before we're within 300 meters, sometimes (and this is more common) they don't spawn until we've finished doing something in an area and are moving back out past the 300 meter line. Sometimes 15-20 of them (for an area) will just pour out of one building. Zombies aggro at night, from across the airfield, on stationary-crouched players who are surrounded by other (non-aggro'ing) zombies. Tents won't save. And I mean the actual tent, not the gear inside. Every tent I put up disappears when the server restarts ... and that's if you can find a tent, they're rarer than satchel charges or Mountain Dew. And finally ... No answers. The Fallujah map is my favorite. Unfortunately I have to be connected to Vilayer-DayZ Planet to play the Fallujah map on any of my servers. Honestly, if my server hosting company (HFB) doesn't figure out a way to disconnect me from Vilayer-DayZ Planet soon they will be losing my business. Sad to say because otherwise I have nothing but good things to say about HFB and the support I've gotten from them. -
Helicopter spawn points & frequency

My server has yet to see a chopper spawn. It's been live now for 14 days and we haven't had a visitor yet to take it. Every other day since our other vehicles spawned we have traveled to all of the spawn points listed on DayzMB and haven't found one yet. Has it taken this long for anyone else? -
Someone did the same on my server, only they tried selling the vehicles back to us! Thanks for admitting you did it, moron! The vehicles are still somewhere really far away, 2 of them with my precious gear in it... :( I'd really like to learn how to read them log files, so I can do my duties as server admin correctly... Are there any threads?

I have had good luck with SS. The problems seem to be more with DAYz and myself :( , but what do you expect from a Mod? Vehicles spawns are SS fault? IF this is true I'm going to start complaining :) Lately, I have had to restart my server after a scheduled restart for vehicles and tents to appear... I'm new to the whole server thing and they have helped me with whatever questions I've sent them within 24hrs. I went with SS for $30 because GameServer was $75. I can deal with a little delay for service to save some money :rolleyes: 36hrs no response? Now thats a new debate B) -

More bandwidth coming your way Khyron - 11/5 is the billing date for me and I won't be renewing... server is unplayable, everyone getting disconnected for high ping. Last response I got was that 'the internet is under attack' and a series of links to prove it! Which is apparently what's causing my ping problem... even though I don't have that issue on any of the non-SS servers I log into. Anti-Hax banned me from my own server, and was banning other people, Object Flooding - they were spawning zombies! How dare they! I finally had to disable it. SS told me to uninstall it... WTF good does it do? Whitelist still not working - the answer was to use a password, and Gotcha... Vehicles not spawning, I have to do those manually All the great features they advertise are not helping me at all... -
Looking for a particular sort of private server

I am looking for a private hive server to play regularly on, but I have some fairly specific requirements which eliminate most of the servers. They are as follows: * Expert difficulty. * No hackers, script kiddies, or other cheaters. I understand that it's impossible to keep 100% of them out, but if it happens once a week, that's too many. * Unmodified "Day Z" mission--the only difference between this server and an official hive server must be that it is a private hive. * Side chat off. * U.S.A. server location. * Server must not suffer from frequent resets which "eat" vehicles and tents. Once in a while is one thing, but if it happens every week, that's a deal-breaker. * Server must not be operated & dominated by a clan. * Server administrators must not abuse administrative abilities to gain an advantage in gameplay. Can anyone think of any servers which meet all of those requirements? I realize that this may be difficult, but perhaps there is at least one out there. -

Hello, Just recruit some more players to our server. The server is a private hive with bliss 3.7. We are Whitelisted, so please go to 1mddayz.com and go to the forums to apply. There you can PM me your GUID if you want to play. We have 3 active admins. I do not ban any of the high powered weapons that are spawned in the heli crashes. It is all fair game because I believe military helicopter crashes should have military grade weapons in them. All I ask if you are whitelisted is to not do any hacking. The guns are in the game so there is no need to. Dayz Anti Hax and Gotcha-Anti hax are enabled to help with stopping teleporters. The server is set to a +10 GMT. Around 3PM central is sunrise and allows us to play to about 1-2 AM central in daylight. We are experimenting with building spawning to create custom maps as well, but this is a work in progress. We are also experimenting with other vehicles. In testing is the Humvee, Mi16, Golf Vw, and the KA60 Civilian. Hope to see some of you in US 1073. To everyone asking this question. This change was likely implemented for the same reason I implemented it in my mod. Consuming items inside of vehicles is buggy at best and can lead to duplication of itemsin certain situations. It is not a change meant to balance anything. It's a change to close off a duping exploit. That's it. -

Whats with the no eating/drinking etc in vehicles... its realistic to be able to do this whilst in a vehicle and would be a pain to have to pull over and ever so often if passengers needed food/drink etc etc. -

* Eating and drinking in a vehicle should be possible in my opinion. The only time that it shouldn't be is if you are the driver and you are driving at the moment of consumption. Soda cans could be consumable while driving, could affect your ability to turn by a bit or something. * Bandaging could be applied by someone else in the car but not by the injured person. Maybe only in bigger vehicles such as the van or a bus. Also, antibiotics shouldn't be a problem to munch on while in a vehicle. * Completely disable player list to create a deeper fear as it makes you less knowledgeable of who may be around you. * Have roaming zombies around at all time, only when a player catches the eye of another zombie or kills them with a weapon that attracts zombies should multiple zombies spawn. People know where people are due to the zombies that spawn near them. The roaming zombies could spawn if someone is within 1000 meters instead of 200 if the optimization is wanted. * Spawn zombies even if you are in a vehicle. # Having zombies spawn only if the player is detected, and possibly only in the structures near the player could allow players to hide from helicopters. At the moment if you want to hide in a building it will have an opposite effect due to that the zombies will appear around you. # The ability of dragging corpses of zombies and players could help stealthy approaches become possible. -
Seraja army base is where i get all of mine. Also if you and others have the warm clothes on, ONLY ONE person can get in the vehicles. We either change clothes or try to time is perfectly where we are all getting in at the same time. The warm clothes are definitely bugged.

I find it hard to believe that someone hasn't already suggested this, so I think it's probably already out there. I can't find it so I'll post this anyway. Animals should be a real challenge to hunt, almost a sub-game in itself. Domesticated animals you can just walk up to and axe should be very rare, as these will be quickly killed and consumed after a societal breakdown. Wild animals should hear, smell and see you from quite far away, and run faster than you can. I've hunted pigs with dogs and knives before, much the same as in this video: Pigs are quite smart, and I've found when you're driving past they will sometimes stand still in the bushes so you can't see them, rather than running and making themselves visible. Their tusks can gore you and your dogs if you aren't careful. In fact, it's advisable to put armour on your dogs to prevent this. At night, some animals will stand there for a second and stare back at you when you shine a spotlight at them. Perhaps some vehicles could be fitted with a spotlight for hunting? Maybe spotlights could be available to carry around? This could be a really deep part of the game - simulating the behaviour of animals. In the very least they could behave exactly the same as zombies, except they run in the opposite direction rather than towards you. Maybe territorial male deer would attack though?

US 3349 Hosted by Quant IP 199.116.118.8:2322 (Your) Timezone: US CDT Date/Time:/ 10/6/2012 Server Administrator('s): ScurvyNutz- ~Quant~ What happened: I with 4-5 others raided a known base camp by the server admins and discovered several scripted in weapons as well as satchel charges and tons of vehicles located at 064 028 above Devils Mountain. During the raid the admin logged in and observed occasionally kicking people via rcon console. Once we left he reset the server to get back most of his stuff. When it came back up we killed him after he killed one of our guys. He then reset the server to prevent us from looting his body. We destroyed his base a total of 4 times with their own scripted in satchel charges and logged off. When we logged on today we discovered that we were banned.
