It's 11:30 CEST. I'm on US 1204, minding my own business, driving my freshly fixed up car, parking it where my friends logged out and I'm about to log out when suddenly: Red chain. I think nothing of it and that it'll go away any second, like it usually does. But instead, suddenly, I teleport in my car, to somewhere on the map, where seemingly ALL vehicles are. I see a guy with a Ghilie suit running about, and aiming at me through the window - My car is blocked in between a bus and a tree. I get out, hit the floor and think about taking a fight with this scumbag, but log out instead. Don't want my 56 day old character to die. Now I'm here. The other players that were online at the time are named "Jimmy" and "David". Please get rid of whoever did this. :(

I don't like the way tents are currently in the game. Personally Id like to see a fairly large reduction in their drop rate and for there to be some kind of extra limitation on storage as well as them to be saved to character and have them removed whilst your out of game. I don't really bother with them anymore as its a waste of my time to gather loot for other players. Even gathering loot for vehicles is a waste of time to me because the vehicle won't last long. But it doesn't mean it won't float other peoples boats.

Bisons are considered a throw away weapon by most solo players who don't have a stockpile with tents or vehicles. That is most likely why you found them at the airfield. They are good for getting in and getting another weapon. Not so good at PVP. I sometimes pick one up as a secondary if I am planning on looting and use it to clear zeds silently before throwing it away for more ammo on my main primary, other loot or a better weapon.

Not one person in my group thinks of DayZ as a game, even though we do label it a game. DayZ is the premier shit hit the fan simulator. Balance does not belong in something that is simulating a hypothetical apocalypse. Private hive servers do have the option to select if they want to have the Huey or multiple of them. In fact private hive servers offer the opportunity for the handout crowd to play the game however they want and I completely support that. What I don't support is that same mentality being applied to the public hive. I would argue that a good portion of the people who play DayZ have never handled a firearm, let alone fired or maintained one, therefore why should they be able to use a firearm in DayZ? The helicopter is an advantage, but it is not remotely unfair. The only unfair advantage that exists in DayZ is when people script in gear and vehicles. I don't have the link handy, or remember where to find it, but I do remember something that the list of items that could become available is huge. Most games when in alpha and beta stages rarely ever have the full compliment of items that will be available in the final version. You don't need 200 different firearms to be able to test that firearms work correctly in game, a small sample pool from each class is sufficient to validate the functionality. DayZ mod is still in alpha, so there is no reason for the entire inventory selection to be available. DayZ as it stands is no where near impossible for those willing to work for it. If DayZ is literally impossible, it would not have the following that it does. Some people may find DayZ more challenging than others. There are some real world skills can be applied to DayZ and if you have those skills it means that it will be less challenging, but certainly not less fun. Black Ops zombies is a perfect example of an impossible to win scenario, yet is still very entertaining. I've only ever made it to 37 legitimately on Kino (52 with inf.ammo before that cheat was disabled). Excellent example, thank you for posting that.

I've found that the UH-1H can be moved from any of its spawn points to a relatively safe fuelling point with a minimum of 3 Jerry cans and a maximum of 5. Now, fuelling the UH-1H by yourself takes a long time and I've never felt more exposed than going back and forth between a fuel tank and the Huey for close to 10 minutes. Getting the UH-1H operational on an empty server with no vehicles has taken my wife and I over 6 man hours(2 persons times 3 hours each). If I hear gunfire while I'm flying, especially if I hear the crack of the super-sonic projectile passing by I'm retreating to a safe distance until I can get some of my people on the ground then I distract with the UH-1H while my ground forces advance. As a rule of thumb, people will take you more seriously when you at least make an effort to correctly use the English language. "U" and "Ur" are not real words, please for the sake of the human race and out of respect for the language we speak, make an effort to be grammatically correct. I hate to have to be the person to say this, because I have horrible spelling and did poorly in English in school. I happen to be replying to you, but I'm generalizing to everyone who posts online. I respect your opinion, but I would mind if the UH-1H was removed. I'm actually very glad that it is the UH-1H, perhaps the most iconic helicopter of all time. At this time, to the best of my knowledge public hive servers only have one UH-1H. I have seen more than one on private hive servers though. Many other military helicopters many not belong in DayZ, but if any helicopter does, it's the Huey. Having control of the Huey represents an enormous time investment, never mind trying to keep it longer than one session. I have only once managed to keep the Huey more than one gaming session, but I still lost it within 24 hours from getting it operational. My previous home server, the admins parked the Huey off map and wouldn't restart the server until the Huey was moved somewhere safe and then the server would get restarted. I only had the Huey once on that server. I'm starting to believe that the people who do not support having the Huey in game are the people who do not have the real life time to allocate to DayZ to make the Huey a viable option for them, so their solution is to try and find ways to prevent other people from having it.

Sorry to almost double post but this is the most important thing. Make sure the server you play on is legit. You don't want to invest hours setting it up to find out no admins regularly ban hackers, at peak times hackers come to troll everyone or the admins themsevles are a cabal of nasty hackers. Many admins will have hacks to deal with other hackers! So spend time finding a good a server that you can invest time in if you want to set up a camp for a few weeks or so. I strongly suggest a privte hive from your region or get yourself onto a whitelist for a private hive. Finding a decent server also means that vehicles are regularlly respawned so even if hackers teleport them all you will have a decent chance to have some fun driving.

I rarely go to Cherno or Elektro to gear up, you have to be lucky to find anything good and it's to risky. And whoever's doesn't see the benefit of Kamenka or Krutoy-spawns is obviously used to - dieing fast Go north from Krutoy and you'll pass 5 vehicles spawnpoints, which you can fix right away due to the concentration of indutrial buildings here. You can gear up at Berezino, and find loads of stuff in the appartments, military tents, hospital and 2 supermarkets. Then go to NE airfield or go west towards Dubrovka and start running into a million crashsite's. You 'Chernoists' are missing all the fun.

I couldn't find a section where DayZ hosts were listed so I've decided to post this here: I've been using Survival Servers now (a dedicated DayZ hosting company - http://www.survivals...aff.php?aff=020) for a few weeks and have to say they are excellent. Very fast set-up, they provide Chenarus and Lingor, they host @hive, @bliss v3.5 (their own Survival Servers hive network based on bliss) and completely private hives so you can set up your own community and build servers on that hive. Their prices are competitive (you can start renting from as low as $40 p/m) and they have many 3rd party features such as removing all out of bounds vehicles, changing time limit on wire, hedgehogs and sandbags. All vehicle and tent saves work. All vehicles spawn (up to a max of 75). They provide hosting in US and Europe. There are many other features that make this host great. And yes, that's my affiliate link in the address. If you don't want to help me out by using that (basically a spotters fee) I won't hate you but please at least check them out for yourselves. For all repairs on vehicles i reckon you should require a toolbox. There should be more vehicles but most just being useable for spare parts - why couldnt you just grab a spare tyre off another vehicle if you needed one? Not sure about weapon mods - do you mean finding these things? Pretty sure that's on the cards.

Yes, plans to make toolboxes useful. Requiring them to do any vehicle repairs is one idea for sure. I periodically run a script (which eventually will be run every restart) that destroys any tents/vehicles outside the normal boundaries of the map. If someone parks it there, it will simply get destroyed in the database within (currently) 8 hours.

Been playing Day Z for a while and never really a big fan of the whole banditry thing just seemed too easy. I'd always just been a lone survivor for the most part, hadn't came across many friendlies. Well I've just recently built myself up a camp with two vehicles and I have almost every gun in the game, 5+ NVG's, few range finders. etc.. I've murdered people don't get me wrong but it was for survival rather than just the hell of it. I decided however to give it a bash and grabbed a L85 and AS50 then headed north. I decided to take up the only real sniper spot I know of in the game at Zelenogorsk and as soon as I got there I noticed zeds. Saw a player running down towards the supermarket, not being a bandit or used to this I was kind of panicky but got my range, followed him with the L85 till he was in the supermarket then pulled out my AS50. I saw him standing right in the doorway and noticed he had an M14, had he been a freshspawn I might've spared him but I took the shot but didn't see his body fall so I sat and waited not knowing if I'd killed him, it was a hardcore server so no death notification came up. I saw a zombie attack which made me think he was alive but he hadn't moved so I went down to check. Can only offer apologies to Makuu but I at least left his gear though I did help myself to some of his tasty beans. As for my first bandit kill - the experience was fun but I just don't find enough pleasure in being fully geared up and killing pointlessly from a distance. I think next time I try this sniper bandit thing I'll go out with nothing but a CZ 550 and basic supplies. That way the killing actually has a purpose :)

I know that the environment ends , but after that , people hide their vehicles(helicopters). It has a lot of fuel to go further. If I'm right I saw a littlebird coming out from the deadzone.

New servers can sometimes take up to 7 days to spawn vehicles.

Last night I logged into a server right next to a stash of another clans vehicles. 1 offroad truck 1 ural cargo truck 1 Taxi cab 1 station wagon 1 cargo farm truck. I called my clan over to the server and alerted them on the find. They all joined and about that time we heard the owners of the stash pulling up on an atv and a dirt bike so we hid in the trees. We got into a firefight which lasted about 5 minutes and we killed the 3 of them with no deaths on our side. Since there were 6 of us we all just looted hopped in a vehicle and took off in a convoy to a super secluded location I doubt anyone will ever find xD Oh and all the vehicles we filled to the rim with tons of sick weapons mags and supplies. " "I WAS JUST MAULED BY A FUCKING TANK IN CHERNO. Me and a bud were on top of the firehouse when it was rocked by an explosion. then another. and another. The shots stopped so I looked out to see what was going on and 3 people hopped out of a tank so I shot at them with my Winchester (lol) . One was disappearing underneath me in to the building so I look up to see what the tank is doing about that exact moment I took a tank shell directly to the face which knocked me unconscious and bleeding out. My friend bandaged me and tried to keep eyes on the tank. He saw the people that hopped out of the tank had rpgs and started demolishing the building. About halfway through the timer the building finally fell with us on top of it and we both died in one of the most epic ways possible." "So me and my friend were just trolling people in Cherno when after like 10 minutes on the same server I turn around and spot a bus at the bus stop. Immediately after pointing it out to my friend who was about 30 meters away from it but didnt spot it yet I saw a survivor running on the road next to it. So I lined up a shot with my enfield (no scoped on it) and fired and hit an atleast 600m headshot with the first bullet and the guy dropped dead right in front of my friend. We were both in awe at that shot haha. But that was just the spark to the epicness that ensued. Right after hitting the shot I accidentally fell off the building and died trying to get down (fail). so i respawned until I got a cherno spawn . While doing this my friend discovered the engine was red fuel tank was red and it needed a wheel. So we decided to hunt down a wheel first. Finally I got one and we were headed back when my friend got shot with a makarov by the survivor I killed earlier. I still had not looted my body so I had no guns so I ran up to the guy when he had his back turned and looked in his backpack to see if he had a gun in it. Nothing except car parts. He turned around right as I looked so I took off running. Surprisingly he didnt shoot I guess because I was unarmed. So I went and looted my body got my enfield back head over there. I looked down the road see the guy who spared my life running shoot him in the back 1 shot kill. His friend had shown up by now and was crouching next to the bus looking in it. I shot at him but missed and had to reload . He spotted me and started shooting at me with an ak47. He hit me once and I ran around a building for cover. At the last second I decided to turn around just in case he chased me and sure enough he came around the corner and I made a last ditch effort pot shot. And I actually killed him with it. So both of the hostiles were down. My friend was on his way back so I put the tire on the bus. And to my surprise it started running and moving. So I took the first road out of town and picked up my friend. We stopped about 500 meters out of cherno so he could give me a blood bag. And we started getting shot at again. This time by a lee enfield. So we get about 1000 more meters down the road and stop again because we still needed to take care of some things. After a few seconds damnit to hell if we werent getting shot at again. So we go about another 1000 meters and stop. We started feeling safe and all of a sudden I hear an ATV coming from the hills in my headphones I look up the hill and sure enough some guy named jojo is sitting up there staring at on an ATV . So I lined up a shot with my enfield. Missed the first one. Shot again and got a headshot on him right off the ATV. We ran over to it and was about to loot his body and we started getting shot at AGAIN. So my friend hopped on the ATV and I ran to the Bus and hopped in and we were off to Electro. We desperately needed fuel at this point so we stopped at the Gas station outside of electro. Due to the seeming bounty on our heads we hastily fueled up the vehicles. While we were fueling Aero spotted a survivor walking towards us ak47 at ready and aero headshots him. We put one more tank of fuel in and just as that happened I heard a gun shot but aero didnt. Right as he started telling me I was hearing things someone started unloading full auto m4 shots at him on the ATV. So I hop in the bus and we booked it through Electro. At this point we dont know what the hell is going on , if there was some sort of chat we cant see telling people to kill us or what. So we just keep driving north and north. We eventually come across a gas station with a hippy van parked at it with gear in and 2 dead survivors with gear right next to it. We dont even know what to think anymore. We loot and take off again. We hit khelm and I accidentally hit something and popped my tire on the bus. (fail). So we use the ATV to do a sort of mission to find a tire in Berezino. I find one and we bring it back fix it and we head to Dubrovka. We do some looting go north circle around Black Mountain to Krasnostav loot there. Aero claimed there was an ATV spawn at klen just south so we went and checked it and sure enough there was 2 broken to hell ATV's just sitting there . So we hid the bus and the good atv in the forest around there and that was the end of the night for us. One of the most awesome experiences I have had on dayz yet. It felt like something out of a movie" "I became friends with 2 guys in a hippy van I was stalking with my 4 wheeler and we went on adventures and found a tractor and combined our camps. So now our camp consist of 2 4 wheelers, a hippy van, a tractor, and a bus." "So we ran into a hacker on this server. And he starts spawning ammo crates with 50 cal's dragunov's tons of ammo and 3 trucks for us. After we went for a joy ride in the vehicles we got attacked by a helicopter. Think one of the hackers friends was trolling us though because it was invincible. We could see the 50 cal bullets hitting. After that we got off of that server lol. Hope we dont get banned." Was thinking about taking the chopper but realized I would just kill myself. Later found out they are immune to bullets but not explosions I guess."

When in dayz you can repair vehicles as we all know. You should be able to moify them like metal on windows, tires, and etc. and general improvements. here is a list of stuff that you should be able to do... HELI: doors close walkaround fire fom inside with rifles and such lock altilude missle pods different turrets NOMAL CARS: (hatch back, pickup etc.) Metal on windows reinforced bumpers heating radio (for chat) better suspension MOTORCYCLE: suspension gun holster storage bins BUS walkaround inside reinforced windows turrets shoot from inside reinforced walles reinforced sides snd bumpers Now lets talk about weapon ideas: mods (scopes silencers etc) silencer workes on any gun can be taken on or off scops even thermal taken on or off larger mags muzzle flash heavy barrels bayonettes Other junk id like to see live cameras radios (enables typed chat) building houses groups (indicates in group when aiming at them) factions or guild system custom map maker in game more explosives more vehicles on map Now place your ides in comments and share your opinions

Storm company US 2013 has a custom map with NE airfield having about 6 barracks, north west has about 8 now, and some more factory parts. Kamenka has a grocery store and firehouse. Made this post because it needs more players D: map is- chernarus located in US I think. annd plenty of vehicles :D think around 4 choppers....I'm not an admin or anything but if you have more questions please ask me, I'll do my best answering them ^_^

We have recently changed host for our server (previously altitude, now Vilayer) because of the lack of control we had with our old one. Our old server (DE 440) will still run for a couple of days. The new server is running on the DayZ Chernarus hive (Bliss hive) which has fixed the duping of tent and gear and a lot of vehicle saving bugs. We also run extended scripts to detect hacked in weapons and items. 5 admins keep an eye on the server, including crawling through the logs sniffing out hackers. Combat logging will get you banned, period. To find the server, search for 'Alucardi' or 'DE 440' without the quotes. The result will give you 2 servers. The new one will say 'Former DE 440' at the end. location: Europe Side chat: on 3rd person: on Nameplates: off death messages: on crosshair: off vehicles: 30 time: UTC -5 For the fast ones, i will give a UAZ with some weapons in it if you say hello to me :)

Haha, so I'm evil. I was camping on the Calamar airfield on Lingor Island, with a thermal sniper ( the one that ain't hacked in ) and I started failing miserably and running out of ammo. I was hiding in a bush, covering three vehicles, two buses and a car, when I heard summit like a car pull um behind me a bit far back. I turned and used the thermal, and could see three dudes with thier cars. I started moving up on them. They had places tents next to each other, and were all in them, I threw a grenade, and started spraying with the sniper ( it uses stanag ammo ). I killed all three, and found a good guy base. These had been hoaring for ages, so their tents are full of crap. I have slowly moved up the stuff onto a top of a mountian, using the car. Aswell as three bodies, there are three tents, and a car, all full with loot. Im just by myself, so unless one of you guys want to join up, then Ill just leave it. If you want it message me, and I'll lead you to it. I have had it hiding for three days now, so Im gonna leave it for 4 more. Message if you want some, Ill take the car up and cover with a sniper, so any one following gets owned. Message me for server details, it's so frickin awesome how much there is.
