  1. Sorry but I thought the general recommendation from Rocket was to migrate over to private hives? DayZ standalone takes most time now and the community databases are being worked on instead. Old hive is really marked as EOL (end of life and feature locked) and no support from me is done on that anymore. There are some daily automated maintenance but it didnt include clearing hacked in vehicles. If hive was still actively maintained there's a lot of stuff that I'd like to implement and also hope to change on the side but time and effort isnt directed on the mod or old hive. It'd be a losing battle to keep removing spawned vehicles over and over if it isnt filtered client and serverside.
  2. Rather then posting a new thread it seems better to post these here. I'm sure most of these have been mentioned before, these could be for future updates of the standalone or whatever. Holdalls - Like the one Rick has in The Walking Dead, a player can store items in it like a backpack, it could have a 30ish slot capacity, it doesn't go on your back you have to carry it and drop it, whilst carrying a holdall you can't use a weapon and you can't sprint. Extra Vehicle Variants - What I mean is more vehicles but not more spawns. Harley style motorbike, Reliant Robin, Transit Van, Armoured Truck (like ones used in money transfers with banks etc.), Different Helicopters ranging from the MH-J6 unarmed Heli to the Chinook, but nothing too OP. Maybe some APCs and a Jet Ski. Breakable and Fixable Doors (Wooden) - Including the big barn doors, closing them would prevent zombies entering and if quiet like staying still the zombies may lose interest but if you run around inside they can aggro and break open the door, the door would appear to be off a hinge and unable to close, to fix it you'd need a toolbox but nothing else. To secure wooden doors you'd use planks and a toolbox. Metal gates, zombies can't break through only a vehicle or explosion would smash it open but other players could open it normally. To secure metal gates, chain and padlock is required, bolt cutters would get through it. Trailers - Mobile tents basically, certain vehicles could tow them including the ATV but it wouldn't be very fast, maybe some vehicles could spawn with the trailer already attached but to hitch a trailer up you'd reverse the vehicle up to it as close as possible without damaging it and either do it yourself or get another player to select 'Hitch Trailer'. Trailers can be damaged, they need two tires and scrap metal for the hull, a well placed shot could unhitch the trailer too. Trailers would offer extra storage for small groups on the move. If I can think of more stuff I'll add it here, also those traps are really cool iceeman, should have some mines too and spike strips for cars.

    A Legit way to stop hackers.

    1) not everything "a game adds up to" is code. 2) 99% if dayz's "hackers" is entirely the fault of the engine design, not the failure of anti-cheat measures (which are, of cause, a joke. you can attach a debugger to arma2oa and BE does not notice). 3) Nope, hackers are not "detecting" "these lines of codes". a ) if you want to execute weird shit on the server,you have to manipulate the regular client-server communication. this is usually archieved by changing the path of a legit script to a manipulated one, and execute it legally. but the path itself is NOT in the "lines of codes", but in a... different part of the memory. b ) if you want to cheat weapons, just execute the legal scripts somehow (you know the bugs yourself how to double items and bagpacks. what the interface does, can easily be done somehow else) 4) this will not help anything. things like units (players, vehicles, environment bullshit, etc) are stored in 6 different lists in arma2's memory. its pretty easy to find and read them... opensource code describing how to can be found on any half-serious board dealing with DayZ. as long as the client has too much information and power, someone will easily find a way to abuse it. (and yes, even with morphcode and other ill-bred "security" concepts :)) 5) OBFUSCATION IS NOT SECURITY. you could stop 99% of dayzs hacks by using a RELIABLE engine. not by trying to obfuscate what is obvious anyways. (dont start your mimimi-"trusting engine"-bullshit again - in germany your boss would rip your head off if you design software like that!)
  4. You really need to do some work to the hivemind. As of now hackers are spawning thousands, yes I said THOUSANDS, of vehicles in servers that SAVE to the hive. Yes, even after a restart you can watch the rpt file grow as it tries to stream in all those objects. If you want proof look at the Instance ID for US IL5 (my server). You will notice that it has over 10,000 helicopters spawned and SAVED to the hive. I suggest you cleanup house and get this sorted. Now you may be asking how I am still able to run my server, well that is because I had to edit server_monitor.sqf to not spawn in anything with a _type of "uh1h_dz." Now before you go "OMG HE IS MESSING WITH THE SERVER CODE KILL HIM!" let me just say that I wouldn't have to do this if you would just run a db cleanup script every so often. I know for a fact over 64,000 greenskoda's (909 of which were in my instance alone) were saved to the hive and it wasn't until recently that we got someone to fix it. The current state of how the backend of this mod is ran is getting out of hand, it is sad when we are told not to mess with the code yet it is the only way to get the game to work since you won't do anything about it.
  5. Video is from admin spectator tool showing some cheaters. From first you can see that guy is bleeding without loosing health. You can see he's health in bottom textline. Also he repairs vehicle to full in a second (0:38). 0:50 this guy is also bleeding without loosing hp, also all zombies will die in short radius. 1:12 you will see unlimited ammo magazine, if you count these shots you will end up more than 30 in magazine :) 2:09 another teleporter, this time teleporting also vehicles. 2:33 Pete has nice rabbit costume.. 2:49 Suomalainen plants satchel and teleports away. 4:34 this funny guy is axing death bodies after killed em. 5:09 another unlimited ammo magazine, this time in 1st person view with ammocount reseting to 30. 6:06 some item spawning, seems work is never over..

  8. Was playing on this server and at around 1pm CST, a person with a helicopter flew to my location. He landed and demanded I get in. He flew me to the large airfield and told me to get out. I was then sniped in the head. Bad luck? Just stay away from the airfield? I thought so. Until a moment later after I had restarted the entire server was teleported to the airfield and we were all told to drive the vehicles by a guy named BILLY BOB. He then proceeded to shoot us all. Restart again. Mass teleport a moment later back to the airfield. Start running. BILLY BOB opens fire on everyone. Entire airfield full of burning vehicles. Place is on fire. Restart again. Mass teleport into bus. Legs broken. Tired of playing this. Leave. Come to forums. 1PM. US 416. BILLY BOB mass teleporting and killing everyone. He had 720+ kills by the time I left the server.
  9. We implemented all the changes except jumping and fuel syphoning. You can now dis-mantle vehicles (with toolbox) for parts, also our repair system tells you what parts are needed and are damaged prior to repairing. Women are now able to change skins.
  10. Server was just restarted and once again i'm back on the beach with nothing and apparently there are no vehicles again. Panda I really like this server and the community but I don't have the play time to be able to regear and run up everytime i want to play. Is this going to keep happening, or is it gunna be ironed out?
  11. You can modify the time zone (and there's an 'always daytime' option as well), we don't have some of their options like setting how long until various traps and barbed wire expire. You can also modify the max vehicles setting from the control panel. We have a map that shows vehicles (not yet players) and does work with Bliss 3.6 yes. (see the screenshot in the original post for more info on that) Released two new maps! Zargabad and Fallujah. They are both DayZCommander compatible. Please be aware that neither of these maps have any vehicle spawns by default, you'll have to add them manually if you want vehicles (until bliss gets updated and has some default spawns). AND another London server is on backorder, it should be setup by tomorrow.

    Standalone Donts

    Onto less ridiculous issues: 6. ability to forcefully capture/enslave a player: you believe it or not, as much realistic and "fun" it might be for you, this is not a good idea, please stop suggesting prisons, incapacitating ammo, ropes, handcuffs and suchlike, the only thing you'll accomplish is people disconnecting, or simply going suicidal against you, since death is not permanent in the game, and thus nobody will fight for their lives. 7. Removal of all military equipment: unlike what you think, the AS50 is actually rare, simply because you always find one on a dead sniper body doesn't mean everyone has one. If you paid ANY attention at all on the graphics detail on DayZ chernarus, you'd see humvees, tanks and all kinds of military equipment(albeit destroyed) scattered all around the country, the unrealistic aspect is that you can't find a freaking operational tank or humvee considering the overwhelmingly massive amounts of charred armored vehicles on towns and suchlike. 8. Zombies chasing you FOREVER: it's already pretty unrealistic that you fight against hordes of Usain Bolts, but them never ever ever losing their attention span is simply unacceptable, coupled with the fact that in standalone players will actually have fatigue and will be unable to run forever, this makes it a top DON'T on the list of changes for the standalone.

    Realistic helicopter control simulation

    Hopefully the land vehicles will have gears as well. A big truck or bus is pretty difficult to drive and that should be represented in the game. Drive on the wrong gear for to long and watch your engine go up in smokes. Run out of fuel? No problem, put the car out of gear and push it. Or light in on fire and push it down a hill to create a distraction. :)
  14. What other tools are available? As the reason I went with Survival Servers was all the tools they have, do you have an equivalent of the DAYZ Tools they have so you can spawn more vehicles and change the time zone? Do you have a map tool to allow me to view all vehicles and players in the game? Which works with Bliss 3.6? Thanks for your reply.

    Dayz not Starting

    Hey guys, so I bought arma2 and arma combined operations on steam and it said it was gonna come with dayz but every time I try to join a server it loads the servers welcome messege, and then says battleye initialized v 1.69 then it says (Alex you can not play/ edit this mission because it uses downloadable content that has been deleted. Brg. africa[ map name ] dayz code weapons vehicles and others.) can u help? Thanks - Carlos
  17. Just making a thread here for my server! We're #2 DayZ-server on the gametracker website. We have 60 slots and always 65+ vehicles on the server. No rules at all except for cheating etc. We have some special people from YouTube that sometimes plays on the server and we have some whitelist-ish thing that I made.     Your server and custom loot tables

    Ahhh right, I guess it must be some mod that i have (i literally have hundreds, I cant tell whats in game or an addon xD). Actually yeah now that i think of it the Famas is definitely from the Operation Frenchpoint mod and the AUG is no doubt from some other mod. Is the Skorpian in normal ArmA 2? Not sure if they could have changed a main weapon slot for one that goes in pistol slot, but yeah anything cept another AK. I mean could someone tell me what the difference is (that you can tell in game, not just RL differences with gas system or whatever, what can you actually tell is different in game?) between the AK-107 Kobra & AK-74 Kobra? They fire the same cartridge, so Im guessing they do pretty much same damage and obviously use same mags and have the exact same sight. I understand that its Russian, but still we have British weapons, USA weapons, German, Czech etc. From the ones that are in game, maybe the German G36, with its cool dual sight system. Or (probably the least likely to make it into DayZ xD) my personal favourite the (X)M8, pretty dead IRL though, but like the G36 can use 100 round ammo mags (whether these should go in the game with them is another matter xD maybe to OP for an assault rifle). But, having said that, the modern British looking Police car also isnt in ArmA 2 is it? So if they can add that in and thats not from ArmA 2 (is it?), maybe they can add these extra guns like Famas, would be cool. But to answer your question: In my opinion the addition of the cars is purely a positive thing, I cant see many people complaining about this, maybe that it makes cars feel less 'special' because they arent so rare, but meh, there is no auto run key on ArmA 2 so the more cars for long distance travel the better xD As far as the guns go, like I said I much prefer there not being any thermals in game. This for me is a real game changer for the better. I can imagine a few people wouldnt be too happy about this as they rely on doing 'thermal sweeps' every 30 seconds. Now you can actually hide in bushes and trees. As for the AS50, i guess they took that out because its a bit OP against vehicles, I cant imagine they think its too OP for people, Ive never had a problem with a one shot kill sniper rifle, this is how they all should be imo if his in chest (or stomach) or head obviously. But with the NATO rounds it becomes like an RPG against vehicles. There was even talk of removing the M107, i would have been completely against this and it seems most people on the server feel the same, so he left it in. EDIT: Just saw a post where their server has no NVGs. Hadnt really thought about this before, but actually now that I do, i think this could be a great idea. Some people hate DayZ in the dark and will switch to a light server. I think some of this has to do with the fact its a very uneven playing field at night due to people with NVGs having a MASSIVE advantage. Apart from being in a group this is probably the biggest advantage you can get in the game. Like I said i love DayZ at night when you have to use flares etc. it looks so cool and atmospheric, the night feels so scary which is awesome, with NVGs its just like meh, ok its green. I hadnt thought about this, but now i really wish our sever had no NVGs xD

We have over 200 players in various Fire teams and groups playing Day Z and using our Teamspeak Server to communicate and coordinate their scavenges and raids. These teams have several bases, vehicles, camps and play across several of our own home servers. The community is mostly adult gamers over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but there are no age, time or skill requirements - all we ask is you play fair and have a bit of common sense about you! Our members are based all over the world and are on at all times of the day and night, but all speak English and most are based in the UK and Mainland Europe with some in the US too. We've been gaming as a community since 2002, so we're not some ad-hoc fly by night clan that's been quickly set up and will be gone in the blink of an eye! Now thats the spirit! :thumbsup: No you wont need arma2 to play the standalone, And to answer a few other questions that some people still have, it will cost around $15, should be out in december as an Alpha and all updates after that will be free, They will use a modified version of the Arma2/Take on Helicopters engines, Which means they will be able to lock down the scripting ability that currently exists in Arma2, Severely reducing the amount of script kiddies/hackers. At first dont expect the standalone to be vastly different in terms of actual game content, the main differences will be a totally new user interface and a larger map with many many more enterable buildings. But future updates will bring things like a totally overhauled weapon system, more variety of simpler guns, military grade weapons should be much harder to acquire, you will need to maintain your gun or run the risk of it jamming/being inacurate. more melee weapons, and the ability to customise, add a scope or silencer etc. Customisable vehicles! Improvements to the medical/health system which will mean if you get injured you still have the ability to survive on your own but your chances of recovery will be much greater with someones help encouraging teamplay. Underground base construction, very labour intensive need a large group working together, Those are the main things i can think of off the top of my head, but theres a load of other ideas floating around. Personally i cant bloody wait.

    This is our Custom Private Hive Hard Corps which now uses A.C.E. along with having tons of new weapons, vehicles and spawn points! This battle took place between a small team of ours and the largest clan on the server with 30+ members! Enjoy the SMAW shots!

    What type of playstyle do you prefer?

    Squad gameplay, so generally we tend not to engage lone players, but actual structured squads. It's a lot more fun this way, but every now and again we'll come up against a lone bandit or survivor that may have something that we need. We aren't kill on sight, but we are bandits. I also play on an RP server, in which I also play as a bandit with my squad. This acts a little differently, as DayZ RP (The original one) has rules against KoS, so we prefer to hold people and vehicles up between cherno and elektro. Of course it may seem douchey, but we don't kill them if they comply to our rules. Sometimes they try to rebel against us and not follow the given instructions, and in that senario I put an M107 round into their face. (I'm squad overwatch with my friend, while the other 5 are on the ground with various equipment suited for both vehicles and infantry) We actually get killed regularly, but before taking the bandit approach we made sure that we could recover from dying so of course we have a little camp somewhere on the map :) Overall, DayZRP is probably the best experience that I have had in both Arma and DayZ, and I would highly recommend it. My IGN is BushWookie, and my clan tag is APF, so please do tell me if you actually listened to me now and joined the RP server and I'll try to make sure we don't put some lead in your head :) -CombatWombat, A.K.A BushWookie
