Server choice for me is worth thinking about, if your thinking of using uk123 you should know it's currently being used by hackers (but what's new eh) or what ever they are being called now, or it maybe just fluke that the last 2 times I've used it they were also on there causing trouble. This Happened on the 1st of November on uk123 at 1035pm. Me and my team mate were making our way to Cherno to try and snipe any Bandits on the towers when what was that? we heard the unmistakeable whistle and thud of rounds zipping past us and 2 seconds later the crack the as50 makes when your on the loud end of it, It's incoming fire from a sniper, ironically from the towers 800m away by this point. Lucky for us he was a terrible shot! After 10 mins of bullet dodging and retuning some of our own Natio and 7.62 rounds at him which had no affect at all we decided to split up and make a move for his location, at least he saved us the trouble of spotting him, I was to draw his fire while my team mate went for him, we broke cover and out of thin air he and his team mate spawned in front of us with hatchets. Oh no a Hatchet right? I let off 8 DMR rounds into this guy at more or less point blank range and my team mate AS50ed the other one at point blank range with no affect and they then both one shotted us with a hatchet! I can see the comedy in chasing someone with a hatchet don't get me wrong, but teleporting to your enemy when you yourself cant be killed by who your chasing it's not very sporting. We did get their very ordinary names of Conner And Jay, they were also kicked off the server shortly after for trying to spawn a vehicles. So here's to Conner and jay for Stealing our NVG's the dmr the as50 and my silenced m9, that lot didn't take us long to get!!!!

Been playing a lot of Namalsk lately, enjoying the fact that almost every building you can actually enter. It's pretty hard to survive alone, was looking for some people to play with. People just looking to have fun, but at the same time take shit a little seriously and form some sort of bandit group. Doesn't matter if it's a private hive or just the regular servers, want to fix up some vehicles and pillage the already destroyed cities of Namalsk. -

Good times this weekend. I learned a few things... -Devil goats can one-hit a GAZ :( -Ospreys are hard to fly -C-130s can not take off from NEAF -Anything goes when trying to get an Apache. -Buses can backflip if you take them down a steep hill at a high rate of speed -If an ATV hits a snail, it will flip. Pretty fun server, even if it seems like people are stashing vehicles/choppers. -
No, nothing like that. I've been killed plenty of times by hackers spawning in next to me and also killing the whole server etc, but apart from a couple of bicycles, I haven't had any vehicles. I played again just now for about an hour and didn't get kicked, so hopefully it'll stay that way.

Hello Everyone.. I wanna start by saying im new to server hosting if that wasn't obvious already... i have a couple questions if i can get some serious responses it would be greatly appreciated. i recently purchased a server from vilayer and i know its not the best choice but decent price and good enough for me... i wanna know how, if i can restart the server without loosing tents and vehicles if that is possible b.c when i goto places now loot is never good and i haven't restarted in a while and i dont wanna restart if im going to loose everything. So how do i restart without loosing all of my good stuff since i use cars as tents b.c i need items to respawn. also if this is possible how do i set scheduled restarts in the game so this can be done automatically. Thank you. -
Standalone and Helicopters.

What about players that dont have a clan, which in turn means harder to loot decent items and find vehicles. They will rarely get to fly a heli lettalone see one. How will they get to enjoy a helicopter the ONE day they finally do stumble across one? -
These guys are right, I'm sure. You have to be able to identify official hive servers from the private hive servers. Both are permitted, in fact private hive servers seem to be actively encouraged. There's good and bad in that but that's another topic. All servers running dayz are official hive (linked to the same hive, so you have the same character in all of them). All servers running dayz chernarus are private hive servers. Now there are lots of private hives, not just one. So you need to write down or make note of which server you play in as you will have a different character in each hive. A hive is a linked set of servers. So you might find that in lots of BLISS servers you have the same character (but there are some BLISS servers that are separate hives, so you'd have a different character in each). And you might find you have the same character in netrado.net servers, or vilayer.com servers. If that doesn't make sense let me know, and I'll find another way to put it. It can be very confusing when you first play. And you do need to know where you're playing for things like tents and vehicles, so it's important. Also, it might be worth downloading dayz commander if you haven't already. It keeps note of recent servers you played on, and that's help. :thumbsup: By the way, finding no weapons is all part of the fun, as is dying non-stop. It did that for 2 weeks and I will never forget (and sadly never re-live) those first, early moments of fear, excitement and panic when coming across zombies or players. :beans:

I was going to say engines but since you found daydb you'll be fine! If you have the time and inclination search the bottom/top corners of the map or the northern wilderness from west to east or Grozovy Pass, usally yields results for me! Look for private hives with ample vehicles added.

Suggestions already planned for standalone release. -all enter-able buildings -findable attachment to edit your gun -different types of helicopters (All too likely, more vehicles mentioned) -usable knifes (Home made/found weapons mentioned by rocket, hand to hand also) -stocking gear in cars requires to dump objects manually into the boot, un-stocking vise versa (Don't we already?) -bieng able to shoot on bike, boats, cars and trucks if you are the passenger. -armoured vans (more vehicles as i said, possibility) -helmets, armour and bullet proof vest stop low calibre bullets (custom clothes mentioned, these are likely, headlamps mentioned) -more gore!!!!! blowing peoples legs off etc.(Not sure about dismemberment but new zombies be gorier) -women able to wear clothing, get sick, feel cold etc. -radios to broadcast to other members in your squad that know the same frequency. -animals with propper AI (starttled by noise and vision of people) -Customisable faces (dimples dirt etc.) -more varieties of camo? (they seem fine as they are, i'd add weight and exhaustion like ACE myself, so you may take a lighter bag if you want to run a lot) -appliable camo to backpacks (were getting customisation options, can only hope?) -gradually increase blood ever so slightly (like real life) (Agreed, if your food and drink is full, should regen blood slowly, but get hungry/thirsty faster) -vehicles that don't spawn broken as hell (Deal with it? But I think, more vehicles, less fuel is a good fix) -radiation spikes in certain areas (Map dependant, perhaps a specific scenario for a new map) -
I used to try and get as geared up as possible, just kept searching for the few items I was missing, eventually died and started again. Rinse and repeat. Got bored of that after a while and started lurking in Cherno/Elektro waiting for shit to kick off then laid a bandit beat down and gave whatever gear the bandits had to the bambis. That got boring eventually too and lately I haven't been playing much, just been looking for the few vehicles and weapons that I haven't had yet before the standalone comes out when I do get on.

Vehicles spawn at their places whenever the playing who owned them is away from it for 1 week or crashes it. Its easyer to find an already owned vehicle, search the small towns with "useless" loot buildings, people like to hide vehicles there :) And, finding a vehicles gets alot easyer once you already have one. So i suggest you find an ATV, they respawn all the time, why? because they are a death trap and people crash them all the time. Careful when you use one!

Hello, ive been playing for a few months now, Ive had almost all weapons and vehicles. Doing diffrent things like stalking, stealing, killed bandits, murdered a few for whatever reason... Usally involves a vehicle :) I dont think this game needs very much content, however i think its too easy to aquire everything you need. Now that i did.. Im all out of ideas to entertain myself.. What do you like to do in DayZ?

Does anyone know exactly how the vehicles spawn? I'm using http://dayzdb.com/map#5.078.124 to try finding vehicles. so far every one that i've checked on the map is a dud. are vehicles spawned entirely at random? or are there x number of spawn points for a particular vehicle and it randomises between them? do they spawn when the server starts and remain there till it resets? or do they randomly spawn when a player moves into the area? anyone who's pulled the map appart and know its inner workings pls let me know.

I've had tons of luck finding vehicles, but I usually just end up giving them away to people. Found a bus, went around picked up a group of four and gave them tons of food and stuff, and let them have it. Yesterday I brought a tractor back to my base, and I was sitting in corner looking up something on my second monitor when I hear the signature "vroom" of the tractor. I wasn't too worried, didn't want it anyway, so I watch him drive towards the front gates when bam he hits a pole and exploded and at the bottom of the chat I see "soandso has been killed" poor guy. Right now all I have is a dirtbike and bicycle, I tend to ride bicycles everywhere, stealthy. -

Custom Vehicles including three choppers. Custom crash sites, C130's and other burnt out heli's all spawning loot. We are getting a regular player base and then shall be whitelisting the server. Yes, I know about these visual bugs, I will try to fix some of them and include it in the next release. Vehicles are on Namalsk, over 35 spawn points, boats, urals, uaz, bicycles and also Mi-17 and Ka-60 choppers. Thank you! I said numerous of times that server hosters should use the edited server pbo as a basic for their servers, because I do not want to have helicrashes enabled. I already tried partially get rid of the helicrashes by replacing the loot table with trash, but it still needs at least partial modifications to the server pbo. If someone just use the default chernarus like server pbo, Namalsk related changes wont be applied and it will be bugged. This also applies when someone merge namalsk world package with other (like killmsg and carepkg packages) using bliss server pack, but this will be hopefully fixed in the coming days. Helicrash loot on Namalsk has special value (it has been done to be even more rare in the last update, check the changelog) and more special locations. Giving access to the high grade weapons only to lucky ones. Yes, there are still plenty of mid class weapons, but from the last patch you can see, I am not trying to leave it as it is and trying do some changes (yes, be aware, DayZ: Namalsk is also not 1.0 release but 0.60). However the military building count probably wont be changed, only loot in it could be in the next releases. But it won't be like Chernarus, Namalsk is simply different map.

Everyone else is fair game, and you can deal with them as you wish, with banditry or with mercy depending on your personal taste. Keep your tents, vehicles and bases close to your chest though. Create a temporary passworded channel for the players you trust if you need to discuss that sort of stuff. Remember, a random player who you teamed up with last night in the 'survivor' channel might be playing on the opposite side tomorrow night. Death messages are now enabled I think (I haven't died since the roll back, so I'm not sure if they've been set-up again yet). So if you get killed by someone who claimed to be friendly, then you'll know who it was and can complain or confront them in TS. If you join this server, if at all possible join the teamspeak because it makes the experience much, much better. -

DayZ Redux - DayZ purist focused custom DayZ Mod (Formerly DayZ DIAF)

Should be significantly improved backend and less red chain as a result. Combat timer is now 45 seconds instead of 30 seconds Server side damage reporting removed. Not worth the performance trade off. Fixed zombie death animations (Pulled from DayZ 1.7.3) Fixed function for checking if in buildings (Pulled from DayZ 1.7.3) Fixed some tents (namely at very North or very East locations) from not saving (involves local_deleteObj fix from DayZ 1.7.3) Used concept from DayZ 1.7.3 regarding tent placement limitations, but adjusted/improved upon it. Tents must be on grass/forest and cannot be in OR near buildings. Slightly reduced Hatchet damage just enough so it's no longer a one-hit kill to zombies. (We'll see how it goes, may revert this) A whole bunch of anti-hacker stuff went in. The specifics aren't being revealed as to not make it that much easier to circumvent. Exploit/dupe involving abusing disconnect fixed. Increased the distance in which object interactions can happen by 1 meter (will be easier to inspect vehicles) Removed the manual "Save" action menu item (all saving has been automatic since the first Redux release anyway) Fixed some vehicles/helicopters "insta repairing" (I think!) Part "VRotor" now displays as "Rear Rotor Assembly" in repair menu Part "Glass" now displays as "Glass#" to correspond with the vehicle inspection interface Repair/Inspection action menu items no longer duplicate after repairing a part on a vehicle Tents will no longer slowly creep down hills over the course of server restarts. They will creep ONCE on first restart, then never again. Another tweak to vehicle damage to prevent spazzing out vehicles from causing the server to seize up and everyone sit at "Waiting for character creation" Bear Traps now actually remove instead of leaving behind an invisible trap Bear Trap spawn rate slightly increased Maybe(?) fixed ChernarusRedux buildings occasionally not showing for some people Zombies can now hear all weapons fire 15% further than they previously did Lee Enfield no longer drops from residential/supermarket, Farm only now Winchester no longer drops from residential/supermarket, Farm only now "Wood Piles" removed from residential/supermarket, Farm only now Generic military piles no longer spawn in Industrial General military piles are less common at deer stands (meaning particular guns/items in general will be more likely to spawn) "Automatic Time Sync" disabled (this is what caused the sudden moon changes at night) If you have a "Box of Matches", you can now set fire to tents. This sets them ablaze and flattens them, destroying the contents and ensuring they won't come back next restart. Trash made slightly more common in "food/drink" piles General loot piles now spawn with 1 less potential item per pile. M136 replaced RPG7V. Same spawn location/frequency. Launchers are still broken though. Will look into this next patch. 1st person view is now forced while inside of a vehicle. It's still possible to use 3rd person when outside of a vehicle. (Let's see how this goes) Vodnick armor reduced to be in line with other military trucks (i.e. no longer requires explosives to effectively disable) MH6J armor increased slightly so it's not so fragile. Support for new vehicles added, but new spawn points not yet added. These new vehicles can be added in without a new patch being distributed. I'll post as they are made available. New vehicle spawns that were in fact added so far: Regular HMMWV has 4 spawn points Vodnick MedEvac has had its original spawn point removed and given 2 new spawn points MH-6J Now has another spawn point Server Changes: Both the US and EU server are having peripheral dots removed. It made finding vehicles in forests (especially while flying) an easy thing. -

I've got a group of friends we play with, but we don't play veru often/long as its hard to get everyone on at the same time, so I'm looking to join another group. You MUST be willing to kill others, and in some situations, even your own people.Do you comply? Yes. How do you deal with death (reaction)? I try to find a reason behind why I died and try to get my body/vehicle back if it had important equipment (eg:I like to really indulge into the deaths where I perhaps make tactical error, for example I opened up on a van earlier, shot the driver and the passengers but got flanked by one of the members who was escorting the van on the hill - this was something that I should've considered and took into consideration a lot more closely. What can you bring to the group? I can bring advanced sniper skills with most snipers, can remain calm and patient in high pressure situations (act as a scout/recon), I can fly choppers and drive vehicles well, I'm advanced in Chernarus but have very low experience in the other maps. How often do you play? Daily, average 5-6 hours a day. How long have you been playing? 3+ months Do you have TeamSpeak? Yes Do you have a microphone? Yes Are you affiliated to any other clans/groups? I have a squad of four that I play with, but we are mainly just friends and play on the weekends for a few hours, looking for another group to join. If a team member killed a fellow team member and proceeded to loot the camp what would you do? Kill them or at least knock them out straight away to avoid loot being stolen. Are you available on weekends and afternoons weekdays? Yes, available daily Experience 1-10? 8.5 Questions? Only question I really had was answered. Other information? I am very serious and mature around armed and experienced players, but I love comedy and having a laugh when in a non-dangerous situation. Looking forward to your reply!

I recently joined this server. It's great, hacker free and there is a TS server you can use. In 5 hours I found 4 vehicles and fixed up my favorite out of all of them. :) -
